I don't see Bandana Dee as REALLY unlikely, but I think that adding Bandana Dee before other characters like Ridley (of course), K. Rool, Shulk, etc. would be horrendously unfair to the series that need representation and don't have much of it in the form of PCs already (like DK/Metroid style). That's basically the premise of me not being too big a fan of characters Rosalina very much. The difference is that I sorta understand Rosalina because the Mario franchise is Nintendo's most well-known franchise. Adding another rep to Kirby that isn't really very well known a character compared to others would feel like an injustice to me because Kirby has three characters already. I think that it would be selfish of Sakurai to rep his own series further and not other series that need repping. Plus, if you give Kirby four reps, it puts it just under Zelda, Pokémon and Mario. Kirby is an important franchise to Nintendo, sure, but I wouldn't say it's popular enough to warrant that. I mean, Metroid is commonly viewed as a very important franchise to Nintendo (to the point where it often gets thrown in with the likes of Mario and Zelda) but its section would be perfect with Ridley. If Ridley were added, I think the Metroid section would be as perfect as it can get as Metroid as a series is right now.

Bandana Dee could be unique, but I'd be pretty annoyed if Bandana Dee got in over someone like K. Rool or Shulk.

Because of the other franchises that should really get more reps before Kirby does (since a lot of people argue that the Kirby section is perfect as it is now), I really have a hard time believing that anything outside of developer bias would get him in without those other characters getting in too. I think that he's not ridiculously unlikely, but his chances are overestimated a lot by people.

But hey, that's just what I think.

Well, that and Kid Icarus probably has newcomers with easier to think of movesets that could be picked from (*coughHadesorMedusacough*). But for all we know, Dark Pit could be KI's Lucina.

I didn't really lean on Ridley for the argument because I don't think Bandana Dee's chances are interwined with Ridley's, even much in the way I said. Seeing him get in over someone like K. Rool would still feel ridiculous, however. Kirby has three reps already and at the very LEAST, Metroid and DK should get brought up to three this time around, in my opinion. Fire Emblem would have three, but it got 4 because of an easy popular clone. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Lucina at all, but she was nearly an alternate costume, wasn't she? It's hasty to assume Kirby deserves 4 instantly because of this while other franchises that are arguably more iconic to Nintendo sit at the bottom.

Bandana Dee (or banana dee as I like to call him, just to be silly) would be a very unique character seeing that as of right now, there are exactly ZERO spear-wielding fighters as of right now. However, another Kirby character I see very few people mentioning support of is good ol' Galacta Knight. The one thing BD has on GK is he's been playable in the same game GK made a cameo in (Return to Dreamland) and he would have a more unique moveset than yet another sword character. However, GK is one of my favorite Nintendo villains and the series needs more villains. With FE getting 4 reps now, I wouldn't mind Kirby getting another as long as it's one of those two and Ridley's in (which is getting more likely and making me even more nervous as the days go by).

However, Metroid, DK, and F-Zero should probably get another newcomer first because each has been in every game, and only one of the three got a newcomer that wasn't the main protagonist (Diddy Kong) since the first game. As much as I love the Kirby series, those three need reps more than a Kirby franchise that got two newbies in Brawl.

Here's hoping for K. Rool, Ridley, and another F-Zero rep!

I actually wondered about that. What would be Dark Pit's alts if he were a separate character? The leftover multitude of weapons in Uprising can write themselves in his moveset, but I never thought of costumes. What would they be like, darker versions of Pit's alts?

Well for starters I count the each Mii Fighter as 1, so right now according to me we have 39 characters officially confirmed, not 37.

But yeah, once you get into DLC range, stuff gets crazy.

yep it does, I said it a few times and felt dirty.

Also, flying to Japan takes forever. I'd need my partner, Captain Yesterday to do that in time. But he's stupid and would get lost. If any of us had the power to control sea creatures we could just blackmail Japan with no sushi until they announced Ridley for Smash, but that ain't happening either.
