Next weekend, but Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. for 3DS tournament thing is commencing on Friday 25th July, so any announcements are likely to be then.

Would be nice if Ridley was to be announced then, but I wouldn't count on it (would be cool if he was).

This may sound like a stupid question, but has Ridley ever walked in two legs before? All I can find is him standing on two legs to attack, any movement is on all fours or Flying? Which could suggest the hovering idea makes more sense

He did when you destroy his wings in metroid prime when youre fighting him on the artifact temple

I think anyone can enter, so it's not as much of a deal (competitive wise) as the Invitational.

However, the Invitational didn't have any announcements, they were kept for the main E3 presentation and the SSB conference afterwards, so this event has something over that.

The question is, what are these "special surprises" and are they a big deal, or are they just trivial things that Nintendo is trying to hype? We'll have to wait and see.

If Ridley's shown there, then woo. If he isn't, then oh well, it's not as if we expected him there in the first place.

I wouldn't hype about the event to be honest.

I'd assume it would just be a posture change so he would be lower to the ground. People ask the dumbest questions about Ridley.

I know what you mean. Mallard Drakes are pretty scary when you're alone in the park with a slice of bread.

I personally see it as kind of a laying down but not laying down. A bit like this:

I don't know if you have a dog Ridley, but (if you don't) they can get up pretty quickly from this stance. If not that then maybe a hunting crouch.

i loved that and i have to say prime 3 was not as good as 1 and 2
i never got that feeling of beeing alone and all this.... this metroid feeling... i hope they use the wii u with the pad for scaning and radar beam selection ect ... that would be super special awesome
