Argh.... if only Retro Studios retweeted Sakurai's posts instead of Monolith Soft... but then people would think it's Ridley and King K. Rool in some villains trailer.

Maybe its just going to contain a Xenoblade tease and not actually reveal Xenoblade? I mean, except for E3 2014 pretty much every new character reveal was a surprise no one was expecting to get announced at that time (Little Mac wasn't a surprise to most western fans, but the time of his reveal was). MAYBE Mega Man.

I have no real belief that K Rool will be announced Monday (though I am pretty sure he is in, I believe he is secret)
But I think that there is a chance it could be Dixie announced, just to really hype it up with a new announcement not many expected but everyone wanted (and another female, cuz they're so hip right now).

I only wish my Wii U would be shipped in time for me to have Tropical Freeze on hand at that time.

I still don't think Dixie Kong is in the game at this point, but I really want both Dixie and K. Rool, the DK franchise deserves it. I think we've got Monado Monday, but hey, I'd love a DK character reveal. As far as I'm concerned, if one DK character is announced before release (mostlikely K. Rool), I'd immediately assume the other is playable as well. However, I think at this point either one would be a secret character.

Either way, with the Gematsu leak dead, I have hopes for Dixie again. Hopefully she and K. Rool are in Smash.

Gematsu being dead changes everything. If Lucina can warrent a new spot on the roster, I can see Dixie getting one too. I can definitely see them getting revealed together. Maybe DK and Diddy show up on the Gangplank Galleon to fight K. Rool, and the camera pans to a barrel sitting on the deck, where Dixie jumps out and assists them.

I COMPLETELY agree. Lucina getting in was completely surprising and, frankly, I'd be absolutely stunned if we don't get both K. Rool and Dixie Kong at this point.

I don't get this theory. Why do people keep bringing it up?

The theory is Sakurai was biased for "his" franchises. Keep in mind, the Donkey Kong franchise didn't really hit it off until the SNES. Which means there were so many characters around before Diddy, K. Rool, and Dixie with higher priorities. Including Dedede and Metaknight, and yes, both were extremely popular and extremely highly requested. It too him until BRAWL to get them into the game. He also originally planned Diddy and Dixie as a duo, which probably meant no room for K. Rool. He couldn't get that to work, so Dixie was scrapped in the end and we just got Diddy.

But he was trying. He wanted to add both Diddy and Dixie as a pair, but couldn't get it to work. Could he have made Dixie her own character? At the time, she didn't have a recovery move. Now with Tropical Freeze, she does. This whole Lucina thing makes me believe we're getting even more than my previous speculation of 51, and I'm fully banking on both K. Rool and Dixie now, when before I wasn't expecting more than one DK newcomer at all.

We have no DK stages, either. Its possible they are being saved for the K. Rool and Dixie announcement.

I've played most of the FE and DK franchises except the latest of both franchises, and frankly, I find it hilarious that Robin has basically single handedly saved the Smash Bros. roster. I agree, if FE can get two reps, so can DK, and it deserves two reps. Even if technically Lucina is just a clone of Marth.

Exactly, Gematsu is dead. Lucina was probably added as well because she was a VERY easy clone of Marth. The real newcomer today was Robin. That said, I think this makes it all the more likely we'll get both Dixie and K. Rool.

Granted, the leak had a LOT going for it. The second leak was always the questionable one, and that's the one that's dead. The first one I believe was fully legit.

Exactly! Dixie Kong and K. Rool together round out the DK cast nicely, it'd be a huge shame to have one and not the other (but we need AT LEAST one).

Also, Dixie's grab MUST go back to her original hair grab from the classics. I hate how they cut it in Tropical Freeze.

Yes! That was too awesome not to be used. I found it so hardcore when she grabbed stuff like that. GRABBING A CANNONBALL with ****ing hair, that's epic.

I find it especially suspicious that we haven't been shown a single new DK stage, yet we have multiples in several other series. This implies to me a DK reveal of some sort, and with Gematsu no longer the final word, I'm looking forward to the high possibility that we'll be getting Dixie or K. Rool or both.

Anyway, we might really get a DK newcomer in Smash Bros 4. FEA got two reps clearly because of the good reception the game got

Then again there are no other Metroid characters to add besides Ridley, so whatever.

Today's video gave me hope of a dual reveal for DK! Let's hope both Dixie and K. Rool make it. DK needs the love. Both would be awesome.
