Ok, since you apparently don't know this Postman, I'll point it out to you. A while back(probably like 20+ pages or so but it keeps coming up) we, the collective Counter Game players put a ban on OU pokemon to try and keep things interesting. I will counter your cresselia with something BL or lower and then from then on, no OU's Ok?

Edit: Before I can counter it, why does it have Ice Beam twice?

@Cresselia

Houndoom@Life Orb
Flash Fire/Timid
252SpAtk/252Spe/4Hp

Generic counter. **** me with Trapinch plzkthxbai.

EDIT: Good reason not to use Luvdisc.... BEHOLD! His base stats! 43/30/55/40/65/97
Smogon said:
(insert some crappy movesets here)

...

Other Options
Charm turns Luvdisc into a very sturdy physical wall that can survive two Caterpie Tackles and force it to switch out.

EVs
So many options here. Always max out an attacking stat for Luvdisc: you have the choice between a Modest 196 Special Attack or an Adamant 174 Attack. His Speed rarely needs help if you use Agility or Rain Dance, which means you get to fully exploit that 290 max HP more often than not.

Opinion
We'll take a generic Water-type, give it crummy stats EVERYWHERE except for Speed, give him a trait that doubles his Speed in the rain and the option to use Agility and call it a day. Luvdisc is great if you're playing with Battle Timeout, because its mere presence should cause your opponent to laugh at it for so long that you win the match.

Counters
Instead of listing Luvdisc's counters, I'll list here what doesn't counter Luvdisc:
Caterpie, Ditto, Magikarp (PS: I added those Pokes. Smogon just left it blank.)

Kinda obvious. Resist STAB'd spark and Fire Fang, have enough Defense to counter Ice Fang. Take you out with Earthquake and throw in a few curses if I need to.

I'm kinda new to the whole competitive battling thing, so tell me if this set works or not, I'm pretty sure it does, but I'm not quite certain that it reaches its full potential.

Thats not the best EV spread.

Swampert cant really do anything unless it gets a crit and which is still not enough to 2 hit ko, which lets me recover it off. Can set up with Stock Pile to get +3 in both defense.
I can also Finish it off with Grass Knot because of its low hp and x4 weakness

Welcome to the SWF counter game. The first rule of the SWF Counter Game is No Ubers, No OU. There's also some other rules on the first page, you should read them.

Uh, I read the rules, but I don't know what Pokemon are OU or UU (I know which ones are Ubers) and I don't intend to take the time to figure it out.

Edit: Before anyone says I'm stupid, I just like Taunt, so I put it on whenever I can.

Assuming you were using either Ice or Water attacks to defeat Steelix, you're pretty much screwed when Water Absorbing Vaporeon Comes out. Vaporeon's high HP allows it to take a few hits, allowing it to get off a few Acid Armors while restoring its HP with Wish. Toxic will be the main killer.

Im gonna list some things wrong with the last few counters:

Persian wouldn't work if it came in on Substitute or Leech Seed.

U-Turn is not allowed in the counter game.

Even if U-Turn was allowed, U-Turn and Fake Out Combined wouldn't be enough to KO me.

Azumarill is spelled wrong.

When posting a counter with a choice move you have to state which move your using, so Hanai's counter is incomplete.

Ilucamy, you don't seem to fully understand how the counter game works. The idea is that you would be coming in on ANY attack from your opponent, however since Hanai didn't bother to say which move he was using, I guess it doesn't really matter.

In stead of being an ******* and just forcing the game back, I'll just let the last few counters slide since they(mostly) work, and do this:

@Vaporeon

Jumpluff@Lum Berry
Timid/Leaf Guard
252SpAtk/252Spe/6Hp
-Leech Seed
-Substitute
-HP Fire
-Energy Ball

Tada!

I assumed he would be using a Water or Ice move due to Steelix's resistance to normal type moves. Since he was holding a choice band, he can't switch moves, meaning that the damage would be either 0 or halved to Vaporeon.

Simple enough to counter, but it beats out Jumpluff (I think). Rapid Spin to counter Leech Seed, Amnesia to increase defense, Heat Wave to take it out. Gyro ball just cause Torkoal is sickly slow.

@ Pink Reaper: Thanks, you saved me a lot of typing, and Azumarill doesn't have enough strength to beat Steelix's God-esque defenses.
