Grab more. stay grounded. dont PS bombs, normal shield to regrab as long as its safe. if they're harassing your shield then PS.

TLs oos game is weak unless they have a bomb. force them towards the ledge where they can't safely jump. they will often try to jump above you with a bomb when you're closing in however. you run faster then they move through the air. abuse your shield against bombs from above. don't try to challenge with uair or nair because their bombs/dair will win. you can bait a dair but you can't bait a bomb and they're always gonna have one of those.

when you get him offstage and force him to recover you can bair his recovery safely. don't try to drop off too early and let him hit you out of it. always wait for his up b before you descend to bair.

TL can't kill. usmash and fair are all he has except like bair around 180.

recover low. tl can beat your high recovery with his sword and projectiles. he can't beat your low recovery with his sword (dem bombs are kind of annoying but they're too slow to be really bad for us).

we also outrange him when we're closing in. ftilt AND fsmash. if he's trying to approach with bairs when you're at low %s then you can angle fsmash up and hit him out. if he's trying to approach with zair ever then dont challenge it. shield it then run in and grab when he falls.

random thoughts from someone who lost to kingtoon in tourney.

First video.. all I saw Lada doing was hitting his partner, shorthop forward airing, and spotdodge downsmashing.
It was a little similar in the second video... it may be cus wario and mk are such a safely aggressive team and that ROB is kinda forced off stage to stay safe. I know that there are options to counter a team of this offensive style for ROB though. Shorthop fairing and bairing seems to be the answer anyway. Now I'm not saying this ROB may be bad, because doubles is a different story in terms of playstyle for rob and dependent on the team playing against.

Help!

Well this is the grand finals of a tourney I was in a couple months ago. Granted I have learned a few things about the MU since then. However I still lack experience in this MU if people can break it down and tell me what I need to do and what I was doing wrong.

here is the one I did really well on. This one can be added to the archive.

But R.O.B. is too legit, not disjointed at all (okay, >100% legde-up attack).

Wow, then R.O.B. isn't disjointed after all, right? =D

No hes not.

Disjointed means that the hitbox of the attack isn't physically connected to the animation of the attack. So you see them swinging in one location, but get hit while you're in another. Like how with Snakes U-tilt you dont physically have to make contact with his leg to get hit, the hitbox extends so far from his body that he can blowup his own proximity mine without getting hit.

Is that what disjointed means? I always thought it was just that the hitbox of the attack extends past the characters body. Learned something new q.q.

Its away from the animation? I thought it was just the hitbox extending past the characters hurtbox.

Nair, Bair,Usmash, and Fsmash are disjointed. Basically, if theres a flame its disjointed.

I thought we had some disjoint on the tip of our fair as well?

I've got hit areas lit up for all of R.O.B.'s attacks, but I never found time to finish editing for upload so they're for personal use right now. But I like the stage in that video because it has measurement marks on the floor/walls.

FYI, hit "boxes" are for other fighters (and SSB1). Melee and Brawl use bubbles, not boxes. I refer to these as hit areas.
"disjointed" is kind of a loose term because any hit area that is displaced off the hurt area can be considered a disjointed hit area, which would include nearly all of R.O.B.'s attacks. But the most obvious ones are his fire attacks from his stand (B-Air, D-Air, N-Air, U-Smash) and his eye beam from his F-Smash (the upward angle reaches further than the others, btw). Obviously his Gyro and Robo Beam are completely disjointed.

I'll have links to the videos I've been working on up on AiB when I finish them (long after I get back from MLG DC, which will be like 3 weeks from now), don't expect them to be finished this year (unless you pester me enough). I am so bad about getting videos up.

just curious, but would it be possible in time to get the videos also posted by time (or chronologically by tournament)?

I feel like its a good way to see how ROBS game changes as well as to see new videos. i know its a hassle but i feel like it'd be a good contribution to the first page.

EDIT: i didn't realize they were all just 2010, but it would still be nice either way.
