as for pitts i would rly look into renting something in the middle of the state. But I guess me and Pocky will get crackin on that when we get back, so hopefully we can get established with whoever lets us do this if possible.

nah its up north and a tad bit east. harrisburg / shippensburgh is probly the closest. We'll figure out something come the start of the semester. I guess us fake pitts should enjoy our locations, because we'll probly be in the midwest more often rather than over on the east.

**** and i really wanted to give general decapatation a call

renth's place actually is a lot closer to west PA than east PA (never mind the fact that renth is moving or is already gone)

shippensburg (mowfest) is pretty much the most central place we could get; reik is supposedly going there next semester too so they'll have a reasonable presence and maybe we can convince them to set something up ;)

also, on top of OH tourneys, i want to go to a few MD/VA things too if we have the time

check out the rules for SSBM at PAX. (which I will be playing in)
http://forums.penny-arcade.com/showthread.php?t=18373
brief synopsis:
8-man bracketed pools, 1 round matches, single elim.
semi-finals: 32-man bracket. 3 round matches (if time allows). single elim.

and here are the stages, subject to change:
Peach's Castle
Kongo Jungle
Jungle Japes
Yoshi's Story
Yoshi's Island
Fountain of Dreams
Green Greens
Corneria
Venom
Onett
Mute City
Pokemon Stadium
Fourside (yeah... FOURSIDE)
Mushroom Kingdom 2
Kongo Jungle (Past)
Yoshi's Island (Past)
Dream Land (Past)
Final Destination
Battlefield

I haven't really heard of any names that were there last year, nor have I seen any videos except this crappy one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYeDSAk237Q
if I'm up against people like that it'll be awesome for me.

wish me luck.

ggs to alan, TSK, zach, the other fellow whose name escapes me (heh...)

we need to get some KOF netplay or something going on, it'd be a TOTALLY RADICAL way to fill the gap between fridays

Renth, any time in the future you'd potentially come back up to PA (holidays, vacations, etc.)? I'm gonna reserve my ride half a year in advance if so. :p

Pfft, I really don't even play anymore. I'm just waiting for Jason to purchase an AR for our use. I don't have the patience to sit there for hundreds of hours lethargically killing wild Rhydons until my whole team is lvl 100.

But once I get everything set and my Garchomp doesn't get outrun by other ones, Battle Tower awaits.

you don't get "dropped on the list" based on inactivity

if you're just plain inactive (don't play at all) you get taken off the list completely

if you still play some but don't perform well, you will likely get dropped down the list

also, it will not be voluntary; no one can "choose" not to be on the list besides by just not playing competitively

people will be ranked based on how they play

if they don't play they can't be ranked on it so they won't be

of course track record will be considered if someone's performance in the most recent period has been subpar, but obviously recent results trump past results (assuming all other things equal)

ranking based on results is ineffective because the state is too large for people to attend the same events regularly; there are going to have to be a lot of subjective calls; results are the first thing we consider but not the only thing
