It's not as irrelevant as you think
I don't know why you assumed that i thought it was irrelavent. I know that it is a very logical jump to discuss marth, but that makes it no less awesome.

MK should be totally banned, It's marth's worse match up, amirite?
The reason that MK should be banned is because my MK is better then my Marth and I dont even use MK <_<
Im exaggerating but still

In all seriousness..."It's marth's worse match up, amirite?", its half the casts worst Matchup, aka Metaghey.

Banning Metaknight would help prolong the life of Brawl. Metaknight would 'almost' be able to survive in the Melee enviornment. Pretty ghey.

I find it interesting that their concern is Marth.

I understand Marth has some of the best overall match-ups in the game, only with D3 and Snake as slightly disadvantageous match-ups disregarding MK. However, I fail to see why we would think Marth would dominate the scene. His many of his match-ups are 60-40, meaning they are indeed winnable, since I find that if a Marth makes a mistake, it is much easier to capitalize on it. I would expect his usage to soar since he is the safest MK alternative due to the nature of his match-ups.

However, I agree with EL in that other characters such as Snake, GnW, D3, Falco, etc. have certain match-ups where they wreck characters. We humans like to use numbers to describe, and the other tops have favorable numbers. I could see people instead maining and seconding an assortment of top tiers to cover match-up weaknesses and to wreck any character possible a more likely choice.

Of course that thread goes so fast I don't pay too much attention to it to be honest. Someone help me out?

I've said it during the tier discussion thread we had a while back;

Marth isn't top tier because MK is everything Marth has but better. In general, that is.

He wouldn't be the new MK because MK is better, but he'd certainly be one of the most advantagous characters around without MK in the way.

Lol, and because Marth is "pretty much a weakened metaknight", people are saying that if Metaknight is banned, Marth should be too.

that thread is ridiculous

Well, Marth is weakened to the extent that he shouldn't be banned if MK is. He's a solid and great character, but not just plain broken.

I know, it's just that the train of thought in that thread is down right ********. Let the back room debate that stuff and make a decision.

No, I don't think the BRoomers should do this themselves. I think this should be an open debate where the BR listen to what we say but then in the end make their division, but use our points.

It's still stupid reading through a lot of those pointless arguments. Not to mention it'd take hours just to read the somewhat important stuff.

Mks just like Sheik, he won't be banned because by the time it becomes a major possibility the rest of the competitive scene will have caught up and other characters will be placing much better in tournaments. Mks a friendly newbie character that's easy to pick up, Sheik was too. Once more people get good with other characters and realize that they can compete with metaknight, they won't care if he's banned or not.

By the time we get around to acting, it'll be pointless.
