Jean-Oh is the pronunciation. It IS a real name, therefor would have it's pronunciationSo uhh, how do you pronounce Geno? I can't start an argument with my friends without first know how one says his name. Is it Jee-no? Geh-no? Jeh-no? Anything else I Can't think of?
Pronouncing it how you want doesn't make it the real pronunciation. Officially it's Jean-Oh, but I guess you can pronounce it whatever you feel like. It doesn't really make a differenceLike the guy above me said, Jean-O is how you pronounce it, but I like to pronounce it " Geh-Noh".
I guess he'll have to pronounce it Jean-oh when Geno is confirmed as a NewcomerPronouncing it how you want doesn't make it the real pronunciation. Officially it's Jean-Oh, but I guess you can pronounce it whatever you feel like. It doesn't really make a difference
I meant to say something else. ^^^x2JEAN-OH, it's Italian, so it's pronounced how the Italians pronounce it
I didn't say that " Geh-Noh" was the real pronounciation, just that I like to pronounce it that way, like To-may-toh, and to-mah-toh. I KNOW Jean-O is how you really pronounce it.Pronouncing it how you want doesn't make it the real pronunciation. Officially it's Jean-Oh, but I guess you can pronounce it whatever you feel like. I think Italian names do have official pronunciations...As of yet, there IS no official pronunciation for Geno's name. Period.
It's SPELLED in the traditional sense, yes, but until we actually HEAR their pronunciation of it, there is no official way.I think Italian names do have official pronunciations...
Because it's an Italian name, and the Italians pronounce it that way...officiallyWhat the hell, why would it be Jean-o? Everyone Ive talked to says it like jeh-no.
maybe you're confusing it with Gino? Thats my friend's name.Because it's an Italian name, and the Italians pronounce it that way...officially
No, I'm not...Geno is officially pronounced Jean-Ohmaybe you're confusing it with Gino? Thats my friend's name.
I can't find it (At the moment), but I found a site with a similar name in Italian namesI pronounce it Jean-Oh, but in Italian the "e" is supposed to sound like "eh". Why just the name Geno have Jean-Oh instead of Jeh-No, in Italian?
If it were a Japanese name, but it's Italian, like how Mario is an Italian name, therefore has the Italian pronunciation.I think you mean "traditionally" not "officially".
And...shouldn't we be looking at the Japanese for pronunciation?
Then that would win since he would be the first to say it without screwing up.Geon's italian? What if the announcer person said his real name with all those symbols, lol
The TRADITIONAL name is pronounced that way. Mario is Italian, AND we've heard him pronounce his own name - thus, we know how it's pronounced. SMRPG's Geno is nowhere NEAR Italian, and we've heard NO pronunciation of his name thus far - therefore, THERE IS STILL NO OFFICIAL PRONUNCIATION OF THIS GENO'S NAME. It being spelled the same way as the TRADITIONAL pronunciation, means NOTHING.It is pronounced jee-no.
So, a character with an Italian name based on a character from an Italian story (Pinocchio), in a game starring a person (Mario) with an Italian accent and name...Doesn't have the Italian pronunciation because no one specifically says HOW to pronounce it?The TRADITIONAL name is pronounced that way. It being spelled the same way as the TRADITIONAL pronunciation, means NOTHING.
A wooden doll thing with an Italian name comes to lifeWhoa whoa whoa...now he's based Pinocchio?
Roffle.
Like what...we've talked about everything related to him...Who cares how it is pronounced. Just pronounce it however you feel comfortable pronouncing it. I pronounce it G-No. Can we just talk about something else Geno now?
I don't know. We can think of something.Like what...we've talked about everything related to him...
I like Mallow but not as much as Geno. After Geno gets confirmed, I'll definitely be cheering for Mallow.Do you guys like Mallow? I prefer him over Geno.
