id be so down for some elo rating

we reward points on ranking or just amount of wins you earn in a tourny? (win=set wins)

cuz technically i think that'd be fair considering the winner would obv. accumulate the most set wins and earn the most points.

also, we could reward less points even for losing a set, that way people are still getting rewarded for attending and competing. someone could theoretically be considered for the PR thru consistancy of attendance as apposed to going to one tourny and winning then us having to guess how they would do in the future....

hmmmmmmmmmmm

No. Helllllll no. Gallax tried to convince you guys to do that before and yall kept saying no. That wouldn't be fair for the players of this season. Do it next season if anything. They didnt announce it at the beginning of this season so it shouldn't come into play. But next season it should be ok. Just announce it on the thread before it happens.

Tommy and Jeff not want an ELO system? Why you not want good things?
It's not that. I think it's a great idea.

It's that I had this same idea a LONG time ago and was shot down for it. iirc, Seibrik was one of the people who disapproved of my logic.

I don't think our tourney attendance is good enough as a collective to have an accurate ELO. Personal opinion

Xaltis, it's that CFL wanted an ELO system, and we all said it wouldn't be fair.
Now that you guys play LoL, and have exp. with an ELO system... you want it.

Oh, I didn't even know CFL wanted one. Did they want it for all of FL cause I would've been ok with it back then too.

this isn't an opinion; this is a fact (esp. b/c of the regional nature of the state)

you can run into a lot of problems like players (aka *****-****) picking/choosing opponents/tournaments to go to so they maintain a placement

Elo (stop capitalizing all the **** it's named after the guy who invented it, arpad elo) systems work great for ladder play w/ randomized opponents w/in specified tiers

tournaments aren't ladder play

edit: subjective analysis is still a much more appropriate choice (tho i wouldn't mind an Elo/elo-like system as a supplement, but i think this will cause more confusion/controversy among some less intelligent Floridians.... but hey, ****'em)

about this Elo thing... HELL NO! Cuz if that's the case I cud host several tally tournies wit nubs n invite Ryo. We cud gain points easily -_____- in theory I think its bad. Cuz everything is based off of attendence & results rather than who beats who. Seibrik mad a hell of a point a while ago when he pointed that out

o ya i forgot that part

daaammmit

woulda been cool

if u rly wanted to solve that, we could just only count certain tournies (major ones) declare which tournies count ahead of time, leave that to panalists to decide, kinda like a mini circuit wit points rewarded for the set wins of those specific tournies....

yeah
