You both attended one tournament and haven't played each other.

going off of very old data to rank you two would be pointless so maybe we'll tie you *shrug

so the question becomes whether being out of state and ****** is better/worth a higher spot than not being able to attend much here.

and i'm honestly inclined to believe that being oos and ****** holds a little more merit. But simply out of curiosity, had you gone to anything up north since this period started, mike? not that i'm a panelist, but if everything you had done up there was before this ranking period started, then that argument may hold a little less weight...

there's no data for this period saying adam should me above me

just sayin.

LOL jk mike. But seriously it would probably be hard to determine without you guys having played.

the last tournament i went to up there was that stacked no johns (click for results) in august.

i was just saying, if there's nothing that separates adam and i for this period, i think i've performed well enough and been more active in the last period to put me above him.

i can see how some may disagree with that though, since it looks back at a previous period. if that's the case, i think we would be tied.

Yeah I'm not willing to totally ignore your performance, but it didn't happen this period. Tying....tieing? seems okay to me.

And Adam was lower because he only went to one tourney that ranking period.

I can't, but given my skill level I'm not sure I'm a good example.

I am planning to work on it, though. It's on my list of things to learn. I just have other stuff I want to improve at first that I'll be able to use against anyone, not just Falco.

theres a lot of different lasers...so honestly no. if the falco uses the same laser height all game, especially the classic top of the jump laser, then it's easy. but if they use the zhu trick where they shield first sometimes, or if they simply shoot really low lasers, or just alternate heights, then things become really hard.

but the simple SHL, yeah, ****'s free.

I'm ready to challenge both of you to a one penny MM. Are you up for it?

NOTE: All winnings will be rounded down to the nearest dollar.

I'm serious about this, by the way. I really want to go up against someone who'll beat me so badly I won't know what hit me.

i'm down raphael.

i'll be the reason you hate the ganon ditto for about two years. and then you'll realize it's not so bad and broken as it appears.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a ditto a test of pure skill, given that we both have access to the exact same options?

If that's the case, it's only bad and broken while you're better than me. So, it'll probably be bad and broken for longer than two years.

kevin only remembers certain parts of matches

but nah lol, i never learn anything from our matches.
LOOOOOOOOOL

You do learn I'm seeing it! XD You just aren't learning the right stuff yet or don't realize what you're learning. Also, those combos and edgeguards and stage guards are getting much better. =)

yeah, a ditto is definitely a match of pure skill.

thing is, ganon demolishes ganon, so sometimes what can be a somewhat small skill gap can swiftly look a lot worse than it it really is.

but at the same time, a ganon ditto doesn't necessarily determine the better ganon.

which reminds me, i need to own your ganon more, pp.

I figured that would be the case. It seems to me that a big part of playing Ganon is predicting what your opponent's going to do. His slow speed means he doesn't get as many attacks, so he needs to make them count (i.e. not miss), meaning he needs to predict where his opponent will be. A Ganon who's played dittos more will have more experience predicting what another Ganon will do, giving them an edge in the match up.

Ganon does seem like the type of character who can KO an opponent if they make one mistake (assuming the player uses that opportunity to start getting hits in), so I can see how matches would seem more lopsided than they actually are. I'm hoping I'll be able to take out at least one of your stock. If I can take out two I'll be happy.

i think ppl are missing the point of having an s tier versus an a tier

s tier characters are supposed to have NO bad matchups, eg, sagat in vanilla sf4

I've always felt dittos place a funny emphasis on characters to boost their strengths and bring out their weaknesses as well.

Marth dittos you have to have really crazy movement and/or surgeon precision spacing because that's what Marth does vs everyone else but without the luxury of outranging them. Also he ***** himself from below, thereby boosting his strength from below and increasing his distress from above.

Fox dittos.....I dunno why everyone hates Fox dittos lol. I like them. There are so many options in that matchup it's absurd, but it's all about emphasizing his speed(fall speed or run speed) and his grab game(which actually leads to his great combo game on FF'ers) and overly exposes his weakness in dealing with lots of hitstun when hit(part of the maximizing of combos by one Fox).

And, if both characters have the same tools then why isn't it just about how well you play the ditto or play the opponent who has the exact same options?

i mean, marth ditto's are full of fthrows and fsmashes. if you're better at getting them then you win. fox dittos can be full of chain grabs, shines, and ridiculous gimps. but whoever is better at them will probably win.

if you get baited more, you lose. don't do what gets you killed.

why asking about ps lasers? it's also hard to gauge when we don't play vs better falcos cause better falcos means harder to ps lasers/baited ps lasers. js
