Well there goes my trip to canada. People will rather stay close than go to the tournament up there. Not that it really matters. There are only two people in oregon with passports anyway.
I have a passport, except it's missing the validation page somehow. The Tualatin Chamber of Commerce ****ed it up somehow. @_@ I used to go to Canada all the time back when it only required a birth certificate.

I'm not sure if I should go on Friday. I have a lot of Calculus homework and am supposed to read about 100 pages of Walden. @_@

K so if I am going down there I need someone from Corvallis (Wad, Allen, anyone) to tell me that they'll be driving back up to the portland area by sunday, cause I don't want to go down there without a ride back up.

Then again, I might be going up with Brandon idk.

Also, I need housing, and would appreciate knowing who can help with that now before I go.

Well you wouldn't really want to go anyway Evan, it's brawl only.

Allen and I do not have cars. In fact the only two people that I can think of that have cars in corvallis currently are Tuen and Cinnamon.

How can you think you've improved when you haven't gone to anything in forever?
Because playing against friends can still make you better?

Jingwei went to college for a year and his playstyle changed completely. He came back and was 20 times better and was just a lot more informed about the game since he found a ton of smash players in chicago. Playing against him made me a lot better. I also watch a lot of smash videos and I can take a lot from just watching. Playing different people is definitely the best way to improve but its so unbelievably far from being the only way.

Also, the smashfest is brawl only? -.-

p.s. My tech skill didn't really improve, though I got better at playing characters other than Samus and Shiek.

edit: oh, it isn't brawl only, okay.

A downer Dan.

An emo Earl.

A sad Sally.

A glum Greg.

...I can't think of anymore.

Btw yay about there being melee. I still need housing though...

I think I'm definitely far from negative in most situations haha

Also, my point was that you can't KNOW if you got better unless you play a bunch of different people in the actual tournament scene. So many people THINK they've gotten better after playing for awhile. It doesn't help though if you aren't constantly challenged by pros or at least the really good people in our region

Once again, I think that's wrong. I am very good at analyzing my matches and going over them. I realize the mistakes I make in matches and take them out of habit and get better from it. Most importantly, I continue to learn character match ups and things like what to use to ledgeguard vs. who, which you don't need to be fighting pros to learn anyhow. I'm sure I would have gotten a LOT better if I had constantly been going to tournaments but that doesn't mean I haven't at least gotten a bit better by playing in my own small group. If you really believe that I haven't gotten better then idk what to say, but you're wrong.

alright well clearly neither of us are going to change our opinions. So go to a tournament. Beat someone you wouldn't have beaten before you got "better" and I'll think differently

I just realized that since I'm broke, eating might be an issue too...

Wad, please let me know if you've found someone who could both house me and feed me. >__>

If it's too much to ask I'll just not go. I kinda need to know soon though since Kami is heading out around 8

k so someone from Corvallis has an hour to gimme some info or else I can't come. I'm not going to have someone be awkwardly forced to house me because no one planned ahead of time.

Jeff you're free to stay with me if you want to. You just have to be willing to walk across campus after the smashfest is over, and I have some homework I have to finish this weekend. And I'll make bread, I've been meaning to do that lately.

Awesome games tonight corvallis. I hope I proved that I am not in fact a giant rust bucket and perhaps that I even got better, though it was far too short of a session for me :\ I will plan a good time for me to come down and play a lot.
