Quick question in-between.

Did anyone notice they finally fixed the mistranslation of Samurai Goroh? Or was it just me? Because from what I remembered they translated it to Samurai Goro back then.

Well this officially debunks that rumor that came up several times! For those of you who don't remember, the rumor was like this:

Removed:
Ice Climbers
Young Link
Mr. Game and Watch

Newcomers:
Ridley
WW Link
Bowser Jr.

I'm not saying that it isn't 100% disproved, but it shows the likelihood of Game & Watch returning and WW Link probably not.

@GaryCXJk

Really?? i'd check it, but the Dojo is down, at least from where i am

EDIT: Yea, they did change it, wow, i never would've noticed that

Anyways, I think the removal list is more like:

Pichu
Dr. Mario
Young Link

But yea, with IC's confirmed, G&W's chances just got way higher of stayin, but it's not solid yet

Im glad to see Ice climbers back. i honestly think it would haven been a travesty to not include them. im was somewhat dissapointed this week but updates are updates. I would have liked to see Lyn playable though. Samurai goroh now Lyn. both using samurai like attacks. something is telling me we might get a samurai like playable character.

I only noticed it when I started archiving everything of the Smash Bros. Dojo.

So far the dojo is over 100 MB, when counting in that I've archived both the English and the Japanese trailers. I'll update later on how big the archive actually is, but so far the size already is kick-***.

Golden Hammer

It’s a golden hammer. Just like the title says.

It appears on a very important looking pedestal.

It’s even more powerful than a normal hammer. And it’s even more rare.

Swing, swing, swing the hammer!

This hammer drops with fearsome force! Not only does it boast increased power, but you also swing it faster.

...And it may have even more effects.

If you rapidly tap the button...

You can float in midair!

What is this?! As far as hooks go, this is pretty odd. It may even be a little hardcore.

By the way... The normal hammer was known to occasionally lose its head...

Ever have this misfortune happen to you?

This item also occasionally malfunctions...

And it is then apparently called the Golden Squeaky Hammer.

Squeaksqueaksqueaksqueak!

Haha, i love the sqeaking hammer, thats gonna be funny as hell!

So now we have two hammers, not to mention the 3rd one, the projectile hammer (Cracker launcher). This one, next to the Smash Ball, seems like THE godly weapon

Did anyone notice how Sakurai said "And it’s even more rare.", something tells me we wont be able to control this item on the item switch, we might be able to turn it off, but im guessing if the hammer is on, so is this one.

P.S. That was a joke at the guys who always say smartass comments like those on these Boards. TOURNEY-BANNED. Who the **** cares..

This game supports Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. If you connect your Wii to the Internet, you can enjoy linked battles with distant people!
For details, click here.
But because this form of communication is greatly affected by the distance between you and your opponent, your brawls may not run smoothly if you’re really far apart—like, for instance, if you’re connecting between Japan and America.
The more distant you are, the worse your connection becomes, and the slower it feels. I apologize, but I hope you understand.
This is the main menu for Wi-Fi!
There are two primary connection methods. The names of these methods are "With Friends" and "With Anyone." The menus and structures of each method are pretty different.
With Friends
Wii friends who have registered one another’s names can play together freely.
Register your friends!
If you’re registered as friends, you can check each other’s status. If a friend is online and you earn his or her consent, you can enter a battle.
You can change your icon...
And even send short messages during brawls!
These short messages are entered in advance, and you send them by taunting. There are four messages for the four directions on the + Control Pad: Up, down, left and right.
With friends, you can brawl any way you like. And there are other modes besides just free-for-alls.
With Anyone
You can also battle with people you don’t know who are looking for brawls. The most important point here is that you will not know each other’s names.
If you think of your opponent as a simple scarecrow, any psychological barriers may melt away.
Your opponent will not know your name or any information about you, and neither of you can send short messages. There will also be no battle records kept for this mode, so whether you win or lose, it doesn’t matter. Just sit back and play.
Now, while you’re waiting for a match to start, you can kill time with a little practice on Sandbag.
Practice, practice!
We’re planning a number of services that make use of Wi-Fi, but we’ll reveal them gradually with the other modes. Enjoy.

Pwning scrubs over wifi ftw!

Well Sakurai said it'll record friend battles, and we dont really know the extent to which Brawl which start laggin with long distance battles, although Alaska is significantly closer to the US than Japan, so it might not be too bad in that case

I'm a bit confused, but will Brawl's online keep records of your matches with friends, like MarioKart DS?

...I couldn't find it in the actual update...

The Enemies From Subspace

The enemies in Super Smash Bros. Brawl: The Subspace Emissary are called the Subspace Army!

Right now, I’d like to introduce some of the more powerful ones.

<ROADER>

This enemy looks like a motorized unicycle. These guys ride around in groups, and are both fast and powerful.

<POPPANT>

Their bucket trousers are filled with presents and candy. If you approach these cowards, they’ll flee.

<BYTAN>

Leave these enemies be and they’ll multiply in a flash. Destroy them before they get to be too much trouble!

<TROWLON>

This creature will use its trowel-like arms to lift characters up and fly off with them.

<SHAYDAS>

This unpleasant, fog-like enemy has a weak spot at the core of its chest!

<AUROROS>

This bird dives from above, piercing the ground. You can pull out any Auroros that sticks itself into the ground.

<GREAP>

It’s HUGE! It attacks by swinging two sickles down upon you. Its red head is its weak spot.

<The R.O.B. Squad>

The escort the Ancient Minister brings with him is a R.O.B squad?! There are some that fire beams and others that fire missiles.

There are other enemies that will appear and try to impede your progress. Good luck! Don’t lose! And don’t run away!

Man, i dont know where the hell Sakruai gets his characters designs, but they are weeeeeeird, but so awesome at the same time

Even though Sakurai claims these are the more powerful foes we'll meet, he doesn't even tell us how some of them attack, any ideas on those guys?

These are pretty cool looking. GREAP looks fun to defeat. I don't think you wanna mess with him only if you're not a noob.

The background of the Roader picture looks like Gerudo Desert....Hmmm.

Amazing update. I was thinking we wouldn't get something of this magnitude after having just learned about WiFi....Yay.

Sorry for double post

Piplup

This is one of the Pokémon you get from Professor Rowan in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It’s quite charming, so I’m sure there were quite a few people who chose it.

It emerges from the Poké Ball!

Suddenly, it starts sliding around using Surf!

The simpler the stage, the greater the effect of this may be. If you’re wondering why, it’s because anyone who gets caught up in that surf will get washed way with Piplup.

They’re getting washed away!

If you get washed away, do what you can to get back. Even simple characters like this really stir things up on stages.

*yawn* nothing special, come one Sakurai your killin me over here!

He just looks like a better version of Maril, and its more 4th generation pokemon....thats all i got.

Need........Newcomer......

Discuss.....that is if there's anything TO discuss

But hey, beggers can't be choosers ^^

Sorry double post

Snake

The legendary mercenary makes his miraculous Smash debut! This law-breaking news roared around the world.

He comes fully loaded with cool and showy weapons that only he could possess. Couple them with these different worlds, and it will clear a path to new horizons.

Well....i wasn't expecting this, im glad we get a newcomer, but the revealing of Snake destroys my theory that these are all starter characters...But at least we got a lot of info!

Why does Snake get the fully ochestrated music!?

And that picture of Snake holding Ike hostage just makes this update for me

Personally, i'd love to see Diddy Kong v. Snake. Why? the wild animals finally fight back! (If you've every played MGS3 you'll know what im talkin about)

Snake: Special Moves

It’s not just Snake’s special moves that use ordnance—so do his Smash attacks. Can that be?

He’s shooting something up in the air!

He’s planting something!

<Side Special Move: Remote Missile>

This is called a Nikita. It’s a remote-controlled missile.

Missile fired!

You can control the missile yourself! But since Snake is so focused on controlling the missile, he’s completely defenseless while he does so.

If things get dangerous, press the shield button to stop controlling the missile.

<Standard Special Move: Hand Grenade>

Try walking around with the pin out.

Press your special-move button to pull out the pin. The grenade will explode after a few seconds, so be aware of the time and press the special-move button again to toss the grenade.

Strong throw!

Mid throw!

Soft throw!

There are three ways to throw the grenade.
Tilt the Control Stick forward, not at all, or backward.

In some cases, grenades you drop may get returned to sender.

And his recovery special move is...

<Up Special Move: Cypher>

Oh! Watch out! In times like this...

Shoosh-shoosh-shoosh-shoosh-shoosh!

Use his flying reconnaissance camera, the Cypher, to recover. Snake can’t fly, but he’ll do what he must.

He’ll use anything in the battlefield. That’s the crux of survival.

PHEW...im not gonna bother with the music update

What do you guys think the mine move and mortar move will be? his smash move like Sakurai suggests?

And look, shield is confirmed to return! although i think it was confirmed a while back though with Mario's F.L.U.D.D.

this is awesome!!!!!!! this not only means that they are most likly to post all characters on the site (unlockables and all) but now they have pretty much posted everything that we already know (like when they posted metaknight a few weeks ago) all the rest of the post should be ENTIREALY NEW!!!!!!!(unless they start posting stuff like hammer, homerun bat, and stuff that should OBVIOUSLY be in the game)

Sakurai will release all the characters at some point, the question is, how many will he release before the game release?

And actually, we still have two stages that we know about already that have not been revealed yet, the Mario Circuit stage and the Helipad, not to mention all the possible items that are returning from Melee, but besides from those, yea, everything will be new from here out
