Hello Marth boards!

A long time ago we had a tournament results thread, which due to it's creator dropping marth/being lazy fizzled up . I think it's worth giving it another crack, with a whole new purpose and different goals in mind.

Purpose 1. I will list all results in order of dates and or signifance (in relation to something akin to Ankoku's scoring means). The main post will contain results from only the past month or so; with archival linked posts being available for any given month.

Purpose 2. All listed placements will have, if available a list of videos of the player using Marth; if there are a high saturation of available vids; a link to a post with those links/'the better ones'.

Purpose 3. Empirical match ups! Susa started a topic, and I've been helping in many ways to get it going (link). It literally wishes to gather data of high level matches in tournaments (25 entrants or more, and the matches within the top 9 placers only) to hopefully create a BACKED BY DATA view of the current metagame's "match ups". In this regard we can also use this to pinpoint what characters (hopefully other than just MK) are causing our 'high level' Marths to lose; to give us something to discuss about, and other things.

Goal 1 - New thread to give the community a place for the community to discuss and see what our Marth's are doing in tournaments (as this barely, if ever has 'real' discussing going on in the MGD). Goal 2 - A place to list all high-level Marth tournament videos! Supercede the currently dead stickied 'Marth Video Thread' Goal 3 - Help Susa's thread + also give us areas to discuss our individual and perhaps 'mass' harder than they should be match ups.

Please help contribute by posting with the following format:

Tournament Name:
Tournament details: [Link, date, amount of entrants, etc]
Placement:
Other chars: which other characters (if any) helped you get that placement [please only post if Marth was at least important to your success].
VIDEOS:
Match scores:
e.g. Marth : Your opponent's character (wins-losses).
Please tell us the opponent's name and point out if if any of the vids show these matches!

Regulations:
Top 8 in a tournament of up to 24 entrants
Top 9 (i.e. tied 9th place at worst) in any tournament with a larger amount of entrants.
Match scores only against persons you played who placed tied 9th or better.
Preferrably keep videos of your best matches/"highest level" matches only (Even if you lose to the guy who came 1st and got 7th, that's your 'highest level' match).

If match up scores are hard to remember, don't fret!

I'll prob have the original post moved to this and the actual 'list' in the first post once this gets going.

Please provide as much data as possible from the 1st of June onwards.

Yeah but half those guys don't post. I thought meep played IC? I thought CK switched to MK and Havok goes back and for between MK and gannon? I never knew Vex played Marth thought he was a gannon/bowser main? Darc has been ****in **** up recently.

Also I had two brazillian smashers in Sydney recently called Lampi (Kirby and Bowser main) and Artur (couldn't pick) who only just went back to Brazil recently, <3 Brazil.

I only took matches from 'White' onwards, as those before hand weren't "deep" enough in the bracket.

I also noticed that Zhao used Marth, did he use him often through the tournament? You should get him to post match scores too :D

Suuuup, just so you know, I use Marth as a secondary, mainly for dittos, because Luigi vs. Marth is teh lame. But I pulled out Marth a little bit more at this tournament because my Luigi was weak sauce in general

You have to get top 9 with Marth to have your match ratios counted (and only for those that decided the top 9).

Quite a lot of the data is being taken from the character ranks list as well.

Is there any other issues?
