Combo Knight! What are you up to man?

Yeah but have you done that in some of the sketchier neighborhoods in Baltimore? Veeeery different from NoVa.
Looking at project M and stuff, Link looks like non win. I am very upset. I've been focused on MvC3. So i've been getting better at my native game. without all the tatsunoko bull****.

Link is VERY legit in Project M, probably moreso than he's been in any other iteration of smash.

Well, I dunno about Brawl-.

I'm not sure about the range but it's strong like Melee and has the semi-spike.

Or do you mean recovery? He can bomb jump now, and AGT is a big boost as well. He's got options.

Who here is definitely going to Apex and doesn't have a room yet? Tant's room has two spots open, so if it's just Thunderhorse and me, I'll snag em, but if a few more of us want to go, we can get a room together.

well if it's strong i guess that's okay, I just thought it would be melee range when grounded.

Are you taking anyone else? Because I told Omni I'm bringing 4 TVs.

TH, do you know yet if you're coming this weekend?

As for Friday, I have softball so I can't do anything till late.

It's all up to whatever we're doing next week. I just got off the phone with the driving school, and they just said classes were walk-ins. So if we have something bigger than this planned for next week, I'll skip out on it, but if we don't have any big plans for next week, I'll show up to this and I'll have to miss next week.

Actually, the class goes from 8-5, and the school is right next to the Beltway. If we did something at Jason's next week, I wouldn't have a problem showing up before 6 and going to Wild Wings or something.

I thought there was something next week, like a Hagerstown tourney or something, but I wouldn't mind just hanging at Jason's. Come to Omni's.

Do you or anyone else have another TV? I'd really like to keep 2 dedicated to P:M because I have no doubt the interest will be there for it (a few people are coming solely for P:M) but Omni put me down as donating 3 TVs to Brawl, which would leave 1 left over for P:M. I really don't wanna be a **** and threaten to not come if he doesn't let me keep 2 of my TVs. At worst, I'll ask to split time on one of them, like have it be Brawl for the first half of singles but be P:M the rest of the time.

We will need as many tvs as possible, Brett. With my 2, venue's 4 and your 3 thats already 9, and we'd like to have 16. This is a good start.

Well I mean, I could just as easily go to the Melee tourney and get a lot more playtime. If I bring 4 TVs and keep 2 for myself, that's 2 TVs you otherwise wouldn't have had. The only thing you're giving up is a bit of space. If you need 3 of my TVs so bad that you aren't willing to budge, then you can have 0 instead.

If I'm totally wrong and no one is playing P:M, you can have 3. But I doubt very much that that will be the case.

btw, Omni has 10 TVs up there, not including the venue's.

Anyway ... colored drinks tomorrow night? Don't come too early, I don't get home till 9 or so.

you have a 2nd P:M setup? i didn't know that. I mean, it doesn't matter to me if you have two, thats up to omni. I just assumed you wanted 1. I'm not paying attention.

look, if my man ceez brings 4 **** tv's and donates 2 of em, you should be happy and let him use the other 2 for whatever else he wants. you're getting 2 tv's which are a valuable commonity at tourneys.

not signing onto smash boards after this point til weekend is done, hit me up on cell if you need something.

Yeah, sooo much fun.

So, Thunderhorse and Waffle, if you guys are both getting DQ9 and we're gonna play it together at some point (maybe Jason's next Saturday?), I guess I should explain a bit how it works. One person hosts, and the other people bring their main characters into the host's story, where they can wander around and do whatever they want (excluding advancing the main quest), but the host can call for their aid whenever so they can help out in battles. I guess it's not a big deal what you wanna do with your main characters, but I'm making mine a Paladin/healer/tank with spears as my main weapon.

Looking back at yesterday, it looks like Voodoo's smashfest was one of the rare days where I do not accidentally (or not accidentally) destroy my teammate. I wonder why that is.

Going Thief with either Knives or Claws, I haven't decided which.

Exactly how valuable are Skill points btw? When I first started I thought the only weapons available to you were swords, whips, and fans (because you start out as an entertainer), so I put 3 points into my sword skills for dragon slash, since that was the weapon I was carrying at the time, and then another 3 into my whip skills. I'm wondering whether those 6 skill points would have been much better off saved for when I get knives or claws and exactly how detrimental was it to spend them on weapons that I will probably not end up using.

I know point allocation was a HUGE deal in Diablo 2, because there was a 'skill point' cap and not nearly enough points given to max out all abilities on a single class, so skill point management was VERY important for your build. Just wondering how big I ****ed up lol.

EDIT: oh, I just discovered advanced classes. Looks like I should probably look into building up my character into one of those instead. I would assume since they're advanced classes that they're inherently stronger than the basic solider/theif/entertainer/cleric/mage ect.

It's more like "additional" than "advanced" classes. There's no penalty for switching classes so its easy and highly recommended to multiclass. Just try to stick to classes that use the weapon you're specializing in. And don't worry too much about the skill points you wasted but try not to waste any more. You don't have to spend them right away.

Seagull asks if you could bring P:M to his tourney in Eldersburg (which is like, 20 minutes away from Westminster, right?). Actually, to be honest, Joe only wants a setup and I'm the one who wants P:M. (I'm going to help him run things for experience and NOT play Brlol.)

Can the host advance their quest and story while connected to other players? If so couldn't you just take turns being host so that everyone can advance through the game.

Maaaybe. We were talking about hanging with my friend Jason this weekend since TH isn't free till like 5pm, but nothing is set in stone yet. At the very least I could probably hang out till then. What time does Gull's tourney start?

Yep. And the guest characters can level up and get loot, and all of that transfers into their main game. It's a pretty well thought out system. It just works better in Japan because 90% of the population is carrying a DS with DQ9 in their pocket (I wish that was an exaggeration).

Doors open at 1pm, and singles start at 4:30. I'll be doing some moderating, so if you can only hang out until 5pm, that's fine.
