So yeah, about the smashfest this Saturday ... We really need to thoroughly test out the demo codeset, make sure there are no bugs, make sure all the characters are complete, etc.
So get used to this list:

I'll come hangout, probably won't play unless you need a 4th for doubles or something. I don't really like any of those characters, sadly, cept for maybe snake. I'm curious why you'd release the demo with almost only melee characters.

Really, it's because they are the most polished. The Melee top/high tiers were the easiest to get right. There are 4 Melee low-mid tiers and 3 Brawl characters, enough to give people an idea of what to expect from the rest of the cast, and to see how seamlessly they integrate with the established Melee metagame.

The very base reasoning is that the characters that so happen to be the most complete atm are Melee characters. There are a few Brawl characters that happen to fit very well (Lucas and Sonic...dunno how Snake got so overdeveloped but he's one of the most loved characters in video game history, so why not?), but most of their initial effort was spent on trying to recreate the Melee's most notable characters, namely Fox/Falco through about Ganondorf...which is 1/2 of the demo characters (Fox, Falco, Jigglypuff, Sheik, Marth, Captain Falcon, and Ganon. 7 out of 14. Peach and Samus were the only ones that didn't make it on). Zelda had to be finalized otherwise Sheik wouldn't be releasable, so that's 8. Add the 3 Brawl characters that so happened to fit very well into a Melee environment and that's 11. The other 3 characters just happened to have very devoted developers due to being fan favorite Nintendo all-stars (Mario and Link) and a huge bias from JCaesar 
(Kidding, kidding. But JCz put alot of love into his Melee main. No one else has barely even touched G&W, developmentally or otherwise).
But if you want a more poetic reason, it could be said that the PMBR wants to keep most Brawl characters a surprise. People know what they're getting from Melee characters, and a few Brawl characters were included to give a taste of what to come, but no one really knows how Brawl characters will fit into a Melee environment and what kind of changes they'll need to do so, so they'll keep following P:M until its full release.
Falco's on the list though, so I'm pretty much good anyway. Sonic is a big boon too. between them and Marth and Zelda that's like 2/3rds of the characters I play anyway even with the full roster (Charizard and MK nonwithstanding).
I do wish MK was added to the demo list, if only because then we'd have the most memorable characters of Melee (Fox - Ganon) and the most memorable characters of Brawl (METAKNIGHT...and Snake)

Melee doesn't have the vastly superior Brawl Falco model. That alone makes me want to play this over Melee.

Also, this weekend (Friday and Satuday) is out for me. It's Kiki's B-day this weekend and I'll be in Rockville for most of Saturday (if not over night) plus going to a show Friday night. Sunday is the Super Bowl and I will solely be focused on watching the Super Bowl.

In Westminster at least, the rain is coming through Saturday morning and should be clear by the early afternoon.
If you don't wanna come down in the afternoon, you could always come over tonight. A good friend of mine from middle school (the bartender at BWW I was talking to last weekend) is in a band and they're playing at a bar 15 minutes down the road. I kinda wanna go. Could be fun. They play a mix of classic and modern rock.
If you do wanna come down tonight, I probably won't be home till 7 or so, because I have some things to do.

While I could probably come up tonight, Strong Bad will probably eat my face at Pound V if I don't do his work for him (since my half can easily be done at work) and I guarantee I won't think to do it while I'm up there.
