No, Bandit was right. Spectator fee is $20 with the online discount. It's an international-level tourney. It ain't cheap. But it's totally worth it.

/pretends not to get in free for being a TO

There will be a place to sign up at Pound. $10 entry. We're using the demo, so no Kirby or Toon Link.

You'll just have to go Sheik.

Like every other Melee tourney :p.

EDIT: Well. I've finally done it. Through a year and a half of Brawl Falco and however long I've been playing the hacked versions of the same character, I've finally done it.

I've finally worn out my B button to the point where it's unusable.

Time to buy a new controller.

Niiiice. Is that your first worn out controller? Be sure to frame it.

Who's up for another smashfest this weekend?

Yep. That controller's served me pretty well. Got a new one still in the box off of Ebay for $35.00...and it's a white one :D. Should be here Thursday or Friday.

I'm down for another fest though. My desire to practice is on overdrive now that Pound V is so close and I have a huge advantage by being able to play my two best characters while a lot of other people are limited to using secondaries.

Sure. Been working on rest combos. I'm still missing one in four against low level comps in melee. :[

Cool beans yo. I've always wanted a white one, but it seems they've become the default now. I think I'm on my twenty billionth controller or something like that. I tend to kill analog sticks.

Yeah my analog stick was going anyway, at least when it came to going left and right. It's just the fact that the B button became unresponsive enough to warrant a new controller since come on...try playing Falco with inconsistent lasers and shines. It showed some signs of that last weekend too, but I just thought I input my commands too early.

And if you want to practice rest combos, do it against me. Uthrow -> Uair -> Rest will win you games against me in under 15 seconds.

Yeah back in the Melee days I tore through controllers. I went through about 2 a year. But I've had the same (white) controller since not long after Brawl came out. I dunno if it's because the white ones are tougher or just because Brawl and Brawl+ were slower paced and required so much less tech skill. But I imagine I will be needing a new one fairly soon now that I'm into Project M, though I still don't play it nearly as much as I played Melee in college.

Edit: Found it! Poor poor Thunderhorse...

Sounds like fun ^_^ And playing any char with a bad B button sounds painful.

edit: After ten minutes on ebay - Good lord they make knock-off look-alike controllers now? Color me scandalized.

Maybe your Marth... I couldn't live without 3/4 of his specials. Counter can go die in a fire though.

White controllers are easy to find, just go to amazon. They are 30 bucks a pop and can ship free of charge. They are definitely super good and durable.

I'm trying to get one from brandon for 20 though.

Edit: TH, you live near brandon, so if you want you could buy it from him, then have cmart pay you back.

Yeah I found those on Amazon. I'm not particularly concerned with getting one right now that I've done my research though. I thought they weren't being made anymore or something, but it turns out that isn't true. I'll just wait till my current controller dies.

Quite a bit actually. Touch ups for his specials, maybe some gravity tweaks, an aerial or two. I haven't shrunk his hitboxes to Melee size yet. That, and the fact that we're not including every character possible in the demo. Because ... it's a demo.

It wasn't the fair, it was the reduced boundaries of Brawl+ that allowed it to kill that early. I think you had already stopped playing before then though.

Edit: I think I see where the disconnect's happening now. When I made the reference to Wolf's fair killing at 40%, I was talking about Brawl+. It's an inside joke within our crew and has no relevance to P:M Wolf or his fair in the slightest. That's why I also said Wolf couldn't be fixed...because Brawl+ is dead.

Sorry for the confusion.

Jigglypuff was a beast in Brawl+ when they reduced the boundaries. I am kind of sad Brawl+ died out. It was kind of frustrating, kind of fun, and kind of unique.

Not coming at all since I've been dedicating every waking free moment to reading American Gods. Almost 600 pages and I'm just past 200. And I have to read Anansi Boys and Sandman afterward.

And this is after various people wanted me to play Chrono Trigger, watch Heroes, and read various Marvel comics that I haven't gotten around to (Spiderman: Back in Black, Spiderman Evolve or Die, Planet Hulk, World War Hulk, Hulk vs X-Men, Red Hulk, Dark Avengers, and Dark Wolverine to be exact).

So yeah you people are giving me forever amounts of stuff to do. I eventually have to get around to playing Prototype and Assassin's Creed I and II as well.

It's obsessive for me too, hence why I've read over 200 pages in about a week. And you saw how quickly I blasted through DQ9. But there's just so much stuff and I only have a certain number of hours in the day to do stuff between work, school, homework, and setting aside 1 hour a day for Project M practice.

Plus I have to finish up work for the PMBR before whenever the demo comes out.
