im still getting used to using U-tilt so i use usmash quite frequently, ive done some pretty cool juggling with it but yea it does kinda suck :(

im pretty sure this is a noob mistake but i use nair half way through airial combos,
theres always a point when im bassicaly breathing on my opponent. then i get nervous and use nair instead of fair, for a faster attack i guess,

but that nair usually gets me in grat position for a fair so it has become kind of a habit :(

Side-B SUCKS.

Or at least in Texas, where people know how to DI before they take 5%. It does nothing useful at ALL.

Then don't use Side B where it can be DI'd out of.

Rush pit Rush!

I only use side b in hopes of them blocking it to get their shields down.
My game is to get you shield low and I'm free to hit you with almost any move, that's the way pit is.
Not to mention I got tired of them Down evading my F Smash. So given their shields.. One slight charge will
kill the spot dodger or just break their shields. =O >_> WOI push to edge then full charge f smash or stylish bair.

Agree or disagree with this strategy?

well i try not to base my strategies on chance and an experianced player would stop sheilding and DI out of it with minimal damage.

i think a good time to use side b is when your opponent is trying to fall onto the ledge and use it as an edge guard

what is the best way for pit to fight rob?

his arials have too much range and priority!!!!!
Well, for one, we out PEW PEW PEW him, and if you're watching him it's really obvious when he's going to shoot a laser, so Mirror Shield. Then just react to his approaches, shieldgrab those aerials!

QUESTION:

Is it possible to punish Peach's dair on shield? How? If not, what's the best option? This has been some annoying crap lately for me.

Good answer silver.
I can't seem to think of anything that will punish Peach's Dair as she can continually float and it has beastly priority (goes through Samus' UpB, so we can't even UpBOoS it :( )
I can't a nswer your quesiton but I'd love to know the answer as well

You can't punish it, unless you can manage an OOS utilt when she stops hitting you. But good luck with that, dair is practically lagless :/

Best option would be to get out of there quick. Sidestep out.

Two questions.

One being, what is the preffered [or efficient] method for using aerials. The other being, what is the best move to use to momentum cancel horizontally and vertically?

Wing landing... If you WOI cancel right before you land, you have absolutely no landing lag.

Even if its only like 2-3 frames of landing lag, you are still vulnerable.
I'm starting to use it, and it helps quite a lot.

Before this becomes a set habit, what do you think?

I've began contemplating this myself.
Mostly for it's benefits in dash-cancel, since it's quicker than putting up a sheild.
Plus, makes great use for mindgames. I just don't know if I should.

One of the admins should edit the op and add a FAQ section.

I mean, aren't people supposed to look for a question that's been answered? We've got this thing backwards..

Fair when ur sent to the sides and Dair whan ur sent upwards

as for the second part of the question, i didnt know that DI options varied from character to character.
why fair when ur sent to sides?
dair upwards?

im just curious because it's usually one move for momemtum cancelling. why two different?

also - does pits pivot grab have more range then pits standing grab/running grab?

or does pivot grab just have the same range as a standing grab?

its best to just use Fair but Dair is used to fast fall

just depands on ur situation really

im no pit pro so dont take my words as the best advice

best advice that i can give you is, dont get hit

judging from this frame data it looks like 'up-air' is the best option for momentum cancelling?

comes out on frame 3. nair does as well but you can't c-stick nair so its harder to momentum cancel.

why do you guys think fair?

yeah so dair helps fast fall like mk? with mk i up air then dair to fast fall to further slow momentum. perhaps pit can do that as well.

Doesn't matter when it comes out, matters when it finishes. Uair takes forever.

I've been using Dair, but this data seems to indicate that Bair is best.

Always fastfall for momentum canceling.

Woah, hold on guys, those numbers are way wrong. I'll be back with the real ones soon.

Edit:

N-Air:
First Hit-4
Duration-51

F-Air:
First Hit-12
Duration-37

B-Air:
First Hit-9
Duration-38

U-Air:
First Hit-9
Duration-44

D-Air:
First Hit-10
Duration-36

There you go. I didn't feel like doing any other numbers, but that should work for your purposes.

Really F-Air, B-Air, and D-Air all work about as well.

It's Dair for horizontal or diagonal DI, and it doesn't matters what aerial you use for vertical DI since you will fastfall it anyways.

This makes sense, I've heard D-Air was the best for momentum cancel.
Reason? It ends the quickest.

The ULTIMATE Pit Guide (A close up of the Pit boards).

really should keep things up to date.

1. how do you charge arrows to do 15% percent??

or longer charged arrows, delay the arrow shot?

- mind games, more damage?

Look at that teams match I posted in the social thread.

I survive a Diddy U-air at 150% FRESH, from mid-height. Seriously go look ,you think the match is over.

Bair saved me.
