Aside from omnivorous furry animals, a bear is a term in the gay community for a husky, hairy guy. It it's not that then I have no clue.

It was very nice meeting you, Dark. Thanks for the advice you gave me. Sorry, I didn't say goodbye, when I left. You're a very good player. And, yeah, I'm going to need to get a new controller. I don't know what was going on with it.

Why do you believe you placed poorly?
Cause I was not ready to enter tournaments like I thought.

Always go with your gut. If you truly felt you should not have entered the tournament, just do friendlies the whole day. Going with your gut ...so simple but helps a ton. Especially if you play multiple characters lol.

My gut told me I was ready. It lied. I was actually pissed I trained for months, go to my first tourny and play like a fool. I lost to Bizkit and snakeee. Game 2 with bistake I almost had him but made an error with a tech and died for it. So I am not pissed about that. Im pissed about losing to snakeee. I played him aggressive rushing in with glide tosses to the typical fair>jab. It was pitiful. He 2-0 me.

Now I go to play him in a friendlies and I won every match. I did not play the same way I played in tournament. I was on my jebus mode. Then me and snakeee talked and he told me he noticed the difference and sees my problem. I for some reason can't play in tournaments. I play like a fool. The whole day in friendlies I was just going crazy. Mixups and mindgames out the ***.

After I beat snakeee in the matches I was not mad anymore. Cause I knew I could beat him. Even while in the tournament set. Yet I played stupid. I played Darc and this guy does not lose to peach at all. We had 2 games of friendlies cause he had to play a tourny match. he beats me game one and I beat him game 2. This should me my hardcore practice against Marth payed off. And this was a match up I hated and could not do at all. And I was the first to beat him. He said that my Peach was "very different"

I liked hearing that. cause I try my best to play in a way I can't be compared to others. So hearing things like that lets me know I am doing something right. So with all that, I was not mad anymore. My training has done is justice and I got better. My reaction time and mix ups went up alot. The only thing in my way from beasting in tournament is to stop playing like a damm fool in bracket. And I have no clue why I can't do that.

What goes through your mind during tournament?

Maybe you're "Peaching" yourself and putting too much pressure on yourself.

Speaking as a player who has suffered from psychological barriers in the past, I can tell you that the psychological aspect of the game is just as important as what's physically going on.

Not really sure. Cause alot runs through my mind. I would guess thinking too much and fustration cause Im the type of player that loves to mindgame the hell out of my enemies. I remember a few times against snakeee I did some things where i would force him to roll. And I went for the read to punish but screwed it up alot. So I was kinda getting ticked.

When you play just play to improve and play to have fun. Winning might be fun but it's important to keep the other aspects of your gameplay fresh and solid and the easiest way to do that is when you're not paying attention to the outcome. I'm not saying you shouldn't want to win but you should just keep in mind that if you let your desire to win and play exactly how you want show through, it's likely to be more elusive. Just some thoughts.

Stupid stuff will happen.

And even the best make technical errors and screw up punishes. You gotta let the stupid **** go. Accept the fact you messed up and keep going. If you dwell on it, you take away from your overall focus. And Peach is so technically demanding you have to be able to keep your cool. Doubt and anger will only put you down the path of failure.

Experience and practice help keep your fingers able to do what you want them to do to a degree. The rest...its all in your head. When I finally grasped this....I saw tremendous improvement...and I'm not done yet.

Not that easy for me. my nerves are way too strong. This may have scared me from the melee days. atomsk said he is willing to help me out. The only good thing s that people see what I am seriously able to do with my character and the player I am. And say I am much better then they thought. I just can't play with something on the line. The beast is unleashed when I am playing for no reason.

This is the final step. I get through this and it's freaking destruction. So close, yet so far away. I need to get past this brick wall.

All was not lost though, today showed me I finally got down that fool marth and can put his *** to sleep. Also how my mixups and reaction time improved alot of the past few months of training. I made up for my weak performance in bracket.

Im gonna sleep this off.

Haha trust me, I'm the exact same. I'm not perfect with it, but I've gotten better at controlling my nerves and emotion during sets. Its definitely helped me a lot. I think at Vengeance, I'm going to surprise some people.

This is some of the best advice to listen to. Once I started following this mindset more, I noticed an improvement.

Also feeling like you have something to prove while playing can also be destructive for some.

While I'm at it, I also think that the best way to improve while a match is occurring is not to focus on what your opponent is doing but focus on what you are doing - why are you getting hit/why do you feel uncomfortable/etc.? Then as soon as you have created that adjustment it becomes MUCH easier to beat the opponent. If the opponent is able to just focus and capitalize on your errors, your frustration builds exponentially and he/she gets away scot free.

This applies online too. There are some matchups/characters that are just terrible or stunted on wifi but when you play to the point where you can notice what is wifi and what is offline, then that in and of itself is an improvement. But you play a broken wifi char :glare: so this advice may not be worthwhile.

Yo Illmatic.

You're from Texas and I'm gay.

Let's Brokeback Mountain.
Forget about Ill, I am from Texas.
Let's hook up babe ;)

:phone:
LOL xD
Tech and Illmatic would make a goo couple. Tech would be the carefree spirit, who cant be tamed. And Illmatic would be the caring emotional rock for tech, keeping him under control. :0

:phone:
But Illmatic thinks he's straight tho.

You can't play Brokeback without one "straight" boy.

We can still hook up tho.

:denzel:

LMAO at Kassy.
Tech, I have been there.
He denies everything he and I did, never calls me, and refuses to acknowledge that we were and used to be in love.

HE IS A MONSTER!
He can't run forever though.

I chase techs.
I spent nights crying myself to sleep because of him.

Break his heart for me.

Just so you guys know, the thread title makes it really hard to slack off at work by reading--- god **** it kyle i watched you post that in real time >_>

But yeah i can't browse this thread at work on my phone because the title is really gay and it's awkward if my co-workers glance at my phone and sees me browsing a LBGT thread of any sort

thanks for making me a better, more focused airman at work
