I barely use Lambda's supers. Once in a while I'll use a full screen Legacy Edge to get my opponent to block in a certain direction and then Act Parser in and do a low, overhead, or throw depending on where they block. It works on pretty much everyone but Bang (can use a D move to teleport), Carl (can use Nirvana as a shield), Arakune (can super jump and air dash away), and Jin (can use his own projectile super to beat mine out). Otherwise Lambda's meter is only really good for RC (and Astroll if you wanna be flashy).

Her other super works like a dragon punch.

But no, he does have a good point. Lambda's DP is great because it's basically a free combo if they try to do anything to you on wakeup but it sucks that it takes a long time to recharge. This is particularly bad against oki characters like Litchi or Mu. Generally if you just don't get hit you'll be able to last the 13 seconds it takes for it to recharge.

GG and BB are very much like Brawl and Melee. BB was seen (probably unfairly so) as the next Guilty Gear game by most of the Guilty Gear community, especially since they basically stopped making GG games to make the Blazblue games.

I'm not really sure how BB is targeted at a different audience.

As for completely different, it's pretty easy to see how that's not really the case. The basic system is still there as are many of the system mechanics. Most of the changes make things easier for the casual player. In this respect, the Brawl/Melee analogy has some similarities.

That right there sounds like a good example of sickening Guilty Gear Elitism. How come Guilty Gear is that much better than BlazBlue?

I'm speaking as a person whose played both.

While I'm not a "Guilty Gear Elitist", I do like GG much more than BB. I don't hate on BB though.
How much of GG did you play? If it was on a casual level, that's barely scraping the surface of what GG has to offer, IMO.

It's funny how ever since the fighting genre has come back, there's a division between the veterans and people who prefer the newer games. To the newcomers' eyes, they see veterans as people who don't want change. But IMO, it looks like most of the people that prefer the newer games seem to really like them because they didn't get into older fighters competitively. They don't really see what's special about them because stuff like BB and SFIV (and Smash and Melty) were the first games they took seriously. Plus, a lot of veterans play both older games and newer games anyway, so I don't think there are that many stuck up elitists.

As for why I like GG more, I just think the game's more exciting. The combos aren't always the same long string of combos because it all depends on FRCs, character weights, how long you've hit them for (since they'll fall faster while in BB they can just tech out of hit stun faster?).

But also, most of BB didn't click with me (except for Rachel ).

Edit: Hopefully no one thinks I hate BB just because I couldn't click with it. I do enjoy the game.

I didn't play on a casual level, as in I knew how to play/knew of the advanced stuff for Guilty Gear.

Not once did I get a vibe that you didn't like BB in your post, btw. XD It's, more or less, your own valid opinion and reasoning. And who can argue with that?

I didn't really take anything half-seriously for more than anything but occasionally playing with my friends until Brawl came along actually, so all my GGXX stuff and BB stuff is stuff that happened after and partly stems from me just sort of retroactively seeing what the fuss is about. Another part of it kind of stems from me liking the traditional fighting thing where the only two variables in the fight are the character and the people. You can't go to X stage so it makes character A suck, or something, like that.

I don't know any of the combos, I just use everything when I should. Like, anti-air moves when the opponent approaches from the air, knock-down moves to start tech-chases, etc...

As far as I know, 1.02 is just Valkenhayn unlock and some fixes.

They're doing the loc-tests for CSII, so it's not a proper balance patch yet.

You just do whatever you want. It takes a while to understand how crafting works, but it's amazing once you figure it out.
