I'd watch more BB streams but I don't feel like I'm learning a lot. I only tune in when there's someone commentating the match well enough where I can learn from it. It's always helpful if they know enough where they start explaining indepth stuff on matchups or moves where I can apply them myself.

This is kind of why I'm not really great at BB. I don't play it much so most of my experience comes from Japanese matches. I mostly understand combos, pokes, and some matchups. But I never understand why things work the way they do.
Is anyone here going to the national tourney in Cali?
SoCal Regionals? I might. It's just a little over a half hour away. I just don't really want to pay for parking or the spectating fee.
And you know guys, it's weird but...I almost have this strange urge to take a brief temporary break from Blazblue. I don't know if it's because I had a couple bad nights, because CSX is coming out in just over 2 months, of if I've been playing it anywhere from 3-6 days out of the week (even if it's just for an hour, but still) since like...BBCS1 came out for every week, but I think it might do me some good to back off a bit, and watch some stuff to try and re-evaluate and re-define my approach.

Maybe I'll pick something up mind-wise from playing KOFXIII, be ready for it again after some Uncharted 3, and want something faster paced after wrapping up a "Mass Effect 3 prep" file on ME2. I dunno, it's hard to explain explain and truthfully I'll probably just wind up playing less on average and less often. It's like, something I don't necessarily WANT to do, but something that I feel with how I've been the past week about things that I probably SHOULD do.
I'd say play KoF XIII or just take a break from fighters. Playing a different fighter can help you learn more sometimes like spacing and execution. I rarely play people in fighters to be honest, so it's possible to just grind it out and learn as much as you can in different games and improve.
Yeah, the issue with the BB commentators is that they really didn't seem to know much.
Luckily it's not as bad as GGs. Like Rutger, had said, that's pretty much all they say.
Plus I'll see players fall for Dusts over and over or just drop combos all day.

Not that I'm any better in these games. :ohwell:

I think we're probably just harsh on that because we expect people at streamed tournaments near the semis/finals/etc to have a certain amount of skill and don't take into account game popularity or scene size.

True enough.

I was also thinking of taking a break from BB to play some KoF or something. Also, I'm just getting annoyed that I can't get the hang of Tsubaki's IAD combos. :I

He was a guy that used to live in Halifax, and play all the fighting games there as well.

He's pretty much the epitome of whiny, ignorant scrub. He's also just generally really rude and a huge jerk. The SF community was basically "Smarten up, or don't come back. We want nothing to do with you if you're going to act like this."

In a nutshell.

Ohhhhhhhh. So he's essentially 80% of FPS players then? Sorry, I didn't know.

Yeah, didn't we?

Haha, I think his defining moment was when he kept insisting that CS1 Bang was bottom tier.

You know pretty much when I read that, my initial reaction was this (that and I just stumbled across the GIF yesterday and have been looking for an excuse to use it):

But seriously, that's absolutely hilarious. And that you essentially threw a "na na nana" party a couple of weeks after is purely amazing.

I think the SF group was happier than us to see him go, to be honest.

On a completely unrelated note, I feel like taking a break from BB for a bit. I might learn how to play KoF a bit more. It's a cool game.

So, I just got further proof that some Japanese commentators get waaay too into matches. Either that or...I think Buppa, was A. having a stroke, or B. uh...****ing himself?

Hazama guide, scroll down for combos: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?12533-CS2-Hazama-Super-Tutorial

There are also some links in that guide if you keep scrolling past the listed combos, but they're just TK 214B combos. The actual Hazama video thread on DL is pretty lacking, in terms of organization, so just try looking stuff up on Youtube, if you want to see how it looks.

Can anyone link me to Hazama BnB videos? Or anything really to help me learn.
It's in Japanese, but the video is still helpful regardless. And if you have any questions, just ask me.

It's 30 minutes worth of footage that gives BnBs, starting options, and more. To be honest, this is what I studied right before CS2 hit consoles which helped me out during the last SWF tourney. XD

Preesh, and although this may seem dumb, I have no clue how bursts work :( Or those other intricacies.

I swear I'm not trying to come across as insulting or anything with this question, but do you mean you don't know how they can be applied in combos, or you don't know how to do them?

Well... you shouldn't be asking about BnBs then since that's kinda jumping ahead, imo.
Start here and click the links for the system and notation guide located in the center and work your way until you're familiar with the mechanics.

BBEX ships to stores on 2/14/2012 at $39.99.

A little bit of a wait, and some jealousy towards importers, but get hyped! :3
Ooh, nice. I'll be picking that up when that comes out. I'll probably get it for PS3 though.
Not sure if I'll be getting the LE, it has to offer something neat. If it's just a soundtrack, I doubt I'll buy it. If it has an art book, it depends how good.

I'll get the LE one if it's there. Hell, even if it's just a soundtrack I'll get that. I uh...kind of seem to have a thing for soundtracks lately. Though some would say it might be semi-redundant in this case since my CT is Limited Edition.

I doubt they'd make a limited edition just for a soundtrack, but idk. I just hope it has a different cover artwork.
