I've been cramming with my Falcon and Ike to try and avoid this situation but I'm only having low-to-moderate success in learning them enough to use them.

You can thank all the Zeldas I've played getting to this point. It's because I've played the Pika/Zelda MU more times than I care to count that she's my most consistent low tier character.
