Wanted to share this thought I posted over on the Geno support thread. Seeing what we've got in store for Monday, I thought the following scenario could be a possibility.
i renenver suggesting that there, but best to keep hype levels at good height. Go in only expecting the ARMS fighter. be plesently surprised it crash pops in during the other event

I personally hope that Crash merch leak isn't 100% totally accurate. The supposed "redesign" for Tawna looked hideous

The Western side of Pop Star.
Yeah, Nintendo themselves told us not to expect other announcements for Monday. Don't expect anything that was never promised.

Meanwhile, you young ones flip out over an art style change, and I sit here being like.

Again, we're still lacking information. Like, what does it look like out of profile? What does the rest of the body and the clothes look like? Is it a parallel universe version of her? Or did she get forcibly brainwashed?

It would appear that another big-nosed furry creature from the 90's is going to be helping in bringing Crash back

Apparently, Keighley's branching out to the rest of anything related to the Jim Henson company in some way.

I agree. I hate the "Though Wahmen" look that comes from a bad Mad Max Spoof. I did like how they try to give Tawna more screentime again (like in Nitro Fueled) but im sure giving her such a drastic redesign is not gonna go well with people. I mean Coco looks the same as she has been in earlier installments and she is one of the most popular characters in the series and her playability in the N.Sane Trilogy was well recieved, so i don't see the point of doing any hardcore retooling to Tawna to make her look "though" when the 2 main characters represent the spirit of the series: Wacky Cartoony Animals.

Again, we're still lacking information. Like, what does it look like out of profile? What does the rest of the body and the clothes look like? Is it a parallel universe version of her? Or did she get forcibly brainwashed?
Knowing how the american gaming industry is nowadays, im 99% sure the design is a "we want to bring a strang whamen into the series and anyone who disagrees with our vision is a *insert insult of your title here* nevermind the other female Coco who has become a series mainstay and everyone loves her and Whooops turns out me and my virtue signalling friends are nothing but assholes" shtick.

I know im sounding like one of those "people", but i have seen enough games make this dumb mistake and the game suffers as a result, i don't want Crash's grand return be ruined by Partisan circus nonesense, especially when it's an issue that can be avoided.

I know people will call me "lol you're a just pessmistic *insert insult of your liking here*" and it's not like i want to be right either, but i wouldn't be surprised a tall if it ends up doing this.

Well you're gonna be disappointed then, because we have leaked stills from the new trailer that prove the merch is correct

I'm sure there is a good reason Tawna looks like that, and she looks good in game.

Like I said, I'm just hoping it's brainwashing or an alternate timeline evil version of her going by the game's title. I've seen a lot of bad character redesigns that never fit the characters

Given how the plot seems to involve different dimentions, I think its that.

I'm on the minority that isn't much into the new design (I don't hate it but I thought NST's was perfect and didn't need to be changed) but that doesn't change the fact that it is a new Crash game in years and I'm so glad it is finally happening. I just hope the Switch version doesn't take 1 year to show up yet again like NST...

On the topic of reveal trailers, one idea I have for Crash's trailer would be similar to the start of Terry's trailer where they show a timeline of video game systems. However, this time the timeline stops at five different video game systems. The first system is the NES, and we see some SMB1 gameplay. 8-Bit Mario then jumps out of the game and then the timeline then stops at the SEGA Genesis. We then see some classic Sonic gameplay, and then 16-Bit Sonic jumps out of the game. The timeline then scrolls over to the N64 and Dreamcast simultaneously, and then we see Mario and Sonic in 3D fighting each other. However, the timeline scrolls once more to the PlayStation 1. We see gameplay of Crash Bandicoot, and Crash spins out of the game and begins to fight 3D Mario and Sonic. And then we see his splash screen,

CRASH, CRASHES N' SMASHES

And then we see some gameplay.

This would probably be the perfect reveal trailer for Crash imo
It's a good idea, but if they show the PS1 system itself Sony could step in and strike them for copyright infringement.

NST's designs for Crash, Coco, and N. Cortex were spot on imo. Personally I think Toys for Bob should've just went with the Remake's designs, it would've pleased the fans (I can't speak for others but I'm sure the NST designs were well received) and saved their dev team time and money.

I'm not sure if that cyber-punk looking bandicoot is Tawna so I'm going to wait until Monday for how this character really looks, but Crash and Cortex look alright to me. Coco on the other hand looks...off, but the DLC skin is cool.

It better be explained as her being brainwashed/alternate timeline evil Tawna. The design doesn't suit her at all
Thank goodness. So I'm not the only one who's been worried about that Tawna thing.

Don't get me wrong, I DO hope that after her well-received appearance in NST and CTR: Nitro-Fueled, that Tawna is brought back into the fold. But that said, I really hope (going by the game's title) that this is a brainwashed/alt. timeline version of Tawna and not her getting a redesign that even Radical Entertainment probably wouldn't come up with.

Congrats on Crash winning the Smash Mega Poll guys! ;)
I voted for Crash in that poll, so glad to see him at number 1--he does feel like the most deserving. And the number 1 in the last poll, my dream character, made it in last time. Let's hope the same remains true for Fighter's Pass 2!

Really great to see Crash Bandicoot picking up a lot of momentum, He always seemed like an obvious choice for Smash and usually ranks well, But in recent years getting brought back from the dead successfully with N.Sane Trilogy, Nitro Fueled and now the long awaited upcoming sequel to "Warped" with "It's About Time" has really pushed him back into the spotlight, Hell even was this years April Fools joke in the form of "CrashBoards" , He really seems like one of the big 3rd party candidates who is primed for Super Smash Bros.

Maybe it's just really coincidental, But I find it funny that my personal core of " Most Wanted Characters" always seem to win and rank the highest all the time and end up making the roster that very same year, Just like with my #1 most wanted with Banjo-Kazooie, Who also happen to win their DLC Pool in 2019 and King K. Rool who was my 2nd most wanted in 2018 and now Crash Bandicoot who I consider my 3rd most wanted won the 2020 poll, Grant it winning this poll means nothing, But it really gives us an idea of who's really wanted and in recent years has really catered to my personal taste of "Cartoony Platforming Cereal Mascots" It's almost kind of like this game was made for me.

- 2018: King K. Rool
PIE-final-fixed-1024x649.png

-2019: Banjo-Kazooie

-2020: Crash Bandicoot

Even if Season 2 has been decided, I'm on a hot streak and looking to make it 3 years in a row and This a good sign for things to come for Crash Bandicoot.

Let's make it happen Nintendo and Activision !!!

With Crash Bandicoot in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster, the Holy Trinity of the late 90s Console Wars Era will be complete. :2gud:

Anyone see that Caddicarus, a diehard Crash Bandicoot fan, did a video where got ALL 202 PLATIUM RELICS and did the 5 hardest for each game that had them?
I'm really impressed he had the patience to do it in WOC and Nitro Kart, some of the platinum relics in these games are hell to get due to some of their inconsistent mechanics.

So I'm thinking of going back and finishing and 100% completing the N. Sane Trilogy since I 100% completed the Reignited Trilogy. I stopped playing because I was trying to get the relics you get for beating the course record. Damn that is hard to do. I wanna try to get N. Sane done before Crash 4 comes out.

Crash 1 is by far the hardest to do the relics on. I find that without the sprint or slide, you need to do everything perfect. Getting the relic on Stormy Ascent was hell, one of the hardest achievements I have ever done in a game.

They know what's up. Monday here we gooooo BABYYYYYY!!!!

Okay, new theory: we're not playing as the original Crash. We're playing as Crash Costume Man, who's been sucked into the game world and transformed into a Crash-lookalike.

Tomorrow is gonna be a good day.
This is gonna be a good week.

- New Smash fighter, Even though I personally don't care about "Arms", Maybe, Just maybe we might get a teaser for the next fighter, Even though Nintendo already said to not expect another fighter announcement, But I'll try to keep my expectations in check.

- Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time the long awaited sequel to "Warped" (1998) and first mainline Crash Bandicoot game in 12 years.

- Pokemon after already having a presentation last week in which they unveiled a sequel to Pokemon Snap (1999), They are having another presentation this Wednesday in which they are teasing another big project, Many are speculating either "Let's Go Johto" or to a lesser extent "Diamond/Pearl" remakes, Though I believe the latter will be released next year and the former will "Possibly" be this years holiday title, Either way I'll be excited for both of them.

Well it's about damn time Sony.

If the next mainline Crash Bandicoot game does get unveiled hopefully it's not timed exclusive to Playstation again, But seeing how CTR: Nitro Fueled didn't follow the same way of N.Sane Trilogy maybe not, But I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Judging from the fact there's also an XBox One version.

It has nothing to do with being system exclusive. It's more likely because the game is currently too much for the Switch to handle. What with the new engine and all that.

I suspect there'll be a Switch version later but they may need a whole new team working on either porting it or making a new lower spec version like it was ye olde Wii era.

Both the N. Sane and Reignited trilogies Switch ports came out later, and I'm willing to bet Crash 4 is no exception

Since we now know the leaks are in fact true and that Crash 4: Its About Time is a real thing, I kinda wanna give my thoughts on the new renders of the characters, and to tell you the truth, I am quite mixed on them.

On one hand, its great to see that they aren't simply reusing the renders from N. Sane Trilogy\Nitro-Fueled for this game to give this game its own identity, but on the flip side, I can't point my finger on why, but something just seems off about the renders. They sorta give me Twinsanity vibes and while that game is probably my favorite of the post-Naughty Dog games, I don't think the renders and artwork for that game are as good as the PS1 and N. Sane Trilogy games.

Either way, I am stoked we are getting both Smash AND Crash information tomorrow so I'm beyond hyped. And hopefully, the gameplay will leave a better taste in my mouth then the images did so we must wait and see for that. [Also, I'm not trying to bring down hype for this game, as I am beyond hype for this as I have waited 12 long years for a completely brand new Crash game, but I'm just giving my honest opinion and I'm sure the game is gonna be very good]
