Is there anyone else, besides me that have been thinking of doing a picture collab of his moveset, to show the differences between Brawl and Smash 4?

If so, just wait for the Wii U version. The 3DS's graphics are too booty.

I think being able to KO light-medium characters at 40%-30% when at full power makes up for it though. Feels good to send a PSI magnet happy Ness to space when hes at low %.

Why would you miss Brawl's FP?

I hate how well characters can pressure lucario by getting in his face because his hitboxes are so bad. half of them miss when you're inside of him.

This game has a lot of that in general where certain moves will just outright miss if people are inside each other's hurtboxes. I've had grabs miss like that, and you're just left standing there thinking, "...sweet." I guess it's good that the hitboxes were programmed to be super accurate, but it looks dumb in some situations.

there are a lot of times where the animation goes through their face and doesn't hit them. it's like the opposite of brawl. hitboxes are anti disjointed

This game has lack of lingering hitboxes as well, which may or may not make you happy depending on you viewpoint. There are a few exceptions obviously...

That's just rolls being safe in general. Hell, just watch how much invincibility rolls have in training mode.

If I wasn't one of the strongest players in my region I'd quit the hell outta this game already.

I've played enough of Trela's Charizard to know his is very optimistic.

Pre Smash 4 player here. To anyone in particular, is relearning Lucario difficult in this game?

Yes. I did beat Master Core at 8.0 with him tho.
Good to know. Not that it would affect my decision at all; a challenge is good in smash.

What from brawl's Lucario can be salvaged would you say though? I know f air was pretty big (at least in my old play style)

A lot of Brawl's playstyle will not transition very well. His aerial approach is not nearly is as good, and he doesn't have as many combos due to rage/Aura. But if you can maintain high Aura, Lucario is just dumb, if not dumber than he was in Brawl.

Lucario is a combo machine at low %. uthrow -> pain

they took all the range and disjoints from his brawl moveset and put it on sideB. also his balls are bigger.

also bair is the knee except stronger with aura.

So basically, focus mainly on land (except in cases of b air). Low aura = combo damage racking and higher aura = heavy hitting. I'll see how it goes when I get my copy and make my own adjustments from there. Thanks

Also, these last few posts were my first posts on smashboards. So yeah, hi and stuff.

I am so confused right now... Crouch Canceled Lucario survives at 200% at Mute City's racetrack.

The best I can do with Samus is 134%.

Yeah, Lucario combos extremely well at low % and personally I get the longest combos out when playing on Battlefield or other stages with platforms. Gotta love that platform cancel comboing into things <3

OoS instant dairrrrr though I somewhat agree on his other moves. You can quite literally spam dair as much as you like because of the super low ending lag catching even spotdodges quite reliably, and when it hits, the followups are godly too.

Why isn't Optimistic Charizard an icon for the forums yet? lol.

Don't play new Lucario like Brawl Lucario, his hisboxes, except force palm, are all smaller. But I think this was on purpose since his aura got buffed to insanity levels of good.

I'll tell you one thing, playing Lucario in Smash 4 has taught me how to fight smarter with him. I used to rely on his dair pretty heavily in Brawl, but now I have to think about using his entire movepool. It's fun. xD

One of my favourite things to do with lucario
From one end of the stage
Ftilt>Dash Attack>Ftilt>Dash attack> Side Smash/Force palm when you chased them to the other side

Trying low percent Force Palm followups against level 9 cpu's is awful.
They will 100% of the time break free.
They also tech throws at a 99.9% success rate.
However it is great for knowing what's safe and what's now as they always airdodge ASAP.

Like UThrow-Uair(low percent) is pretty good as it's hard to get out of. At higher percent if you uair EXTREMELY early, you'll have enough time to dish out a second aerial if they airdodge.

so I'm sure this has been mentioned time and time again, but I killed a Sheik with an uncharged usmash at 86% the other day.

Lucario is freakin ridiculous and I love it.

speaking of charizard. I have trouble in that matchup, nair 2 good.

I hate aura so much, sometimes I get stupid kills at 60% with bair but other times people will live to 200% because the only way we kill is with the jank. also sideB grab is impossible to land.

Aura is kind of Lucario's deal though. That risk vs. reward factor is the reason why I like him; clean-cut wins aren't really a thing. And while I'm not sure what you mean by the word "jank", I can think of a few different ways to KO with Lucario.

I agree with you on the B-grab though. I'm hoping that has something to do with the 3DS controls not being a GameCube controller. :p

I'm surprised you're having trouble with FP grab, but then again, I use it a lot...or I guess I'm used to bad grab ranges.
