Bigman, these people were on the PR at one time or another. They were all kicked off for inactivity.

It was just a short example list Kola. I'm sure Janitor is a great player. I've never actually played him myself though (doubles doesn't count).

I think GA's PR would beat our PR in a crew battle. However, I also think that is due to the fact that some really skilled players in AL stopped going to tournaments and were knocked off our PR due to inactivity (i.e.- Moogle, DanGR, Nice1, Mahgnittoc). I don't know if Georgia had the same thing happen with their players or not.
Yea Georgia has had the same thing happen. We lost Desu, Zombie, and Rayku(even though he didnt want to be PR'd he'd still be top 5). All these people were at least top 5.

Slam wanna $5 mm at next waba you go to**. I quit Falco so i sux nao.

I will also mm anyone else from AL for at least $5. Finally includes u too Billy ;D.

I need to get my Zss good enough to raise on the next PR.

Of course this is gonna have to be at a usga because i dont wanna travel oos much anymore since it usually involves having to miss school.

I'd be willing to play you, but I don't do money matches. I have a lot of practice in the matchup against ZSS.

You wouldn't know him. He doesn't go to tournaments, but he would do pretty well if he did.

What tournaments have we had since the last update that we need to consider? Let's get links to all the major tournaments that have transpired.

The only 2 people regularly attending any tournies for real is Reflex and Elev8. Other than that everyone has had about 2-3 tournies

Kola update on PR suggestion. ^^;; Like I said at Gamebox, list discussion really can't be accurate until December when the season will come to an end but I'll note this for when that time comes.

Take note that first impressions aren't everything. Though it's very common for everyone to do! I've even done the same against Bigman recently. So this is why we can't make assumptions now.
If it's not making any sense then, : P I'll try and explain it a bit more, but thanks for your contribution.

I think OoS could be considered into the updates of the PR. I'd have to ask if the other panelists agree though.

Montgomery had a smashfest so we can't count that as a tournament. Gamebox has been our first succesful tournament in Alabama since the update....and we did this in March lol.

Actually Birmingham (George,Kola,Zero_Gamer) has done a great job at attending tournaments too recently. : P We've done two Waba monthlies.

I agree that munkus and slam should be taken off due to inactivity, although recently it wasn't slams fault that he was inactive. The Alabama curse struck again, as usual.

As for your PR suggestion, I agree with 1-6, but I have no idea what you and mahg are up so high. Have either of you beaten any current PR members recently? (in tourny or mm's)?

haha, okay Mahg

Edit: Too early in the season for inactivity calls, and even if they stay inactive I'm not removing anyone until updates.

I went to a out of state tourney two days ago.

Exactly how many tourneys have there even been in Alabama since May? Take the Alabama Scene off the list due to inactivity, I say.

How many other competitive players were there? I was told that was a convention, it hardly counts.

As for AL, there have been quite a few wabas, George's tourny, and soon to be AUSOM 2.
Wabas are not Alabama tourneys. Perhaps I misspoke! I said Alabama Tourneys so that implies tourneys that are in Alabama. It's a crazy concept, I know.

There was a guy claiming to be number 1 on an Oregon PR at the tourney. There were more than a couple serious players there, and I had to dominate most of them in order to get to my number 2 slot.

So.

Yeah.

256 person tourney, at a convention or not, is kind of a big deal.

Last year, AWA had 128 entrants, with myself, Calvin, and Lambchops being the only players who knew what a tilt attack was.

A convention is nothing as far as accomplisments go.

I'm sorry that you went to a convention populated by morons and mouthbreathers, but there was actual competition from actual players throughout the entire tourney.

I'm not sorry--I made a lot of money out of the tournament.

As for your tournament, I just mean to say that I'm sure that at least 90% of that tournament's entrants were scrubby, so mentioning the amount of players is negligible.

Once more, It's too early to call for inactivity. Ignore ALL posts that claims one to be inactive.

YALL WILDIN OUT

real talk. tho

there was like a tournament in may
and one in feb.

that was it right?

just put up or shut up.

right now I feel like I'm abbout to start wrecking you fools.
like LET ME AT EM
REFLEX, ELEV8, WILL, BILLY, GEO
thats my hit list.
YOU'RE GOING DOWN.

but me saying that right now doesn't mean anything.
im just gonna do it tho.

i dont know if shaslam is a whole lot better now. but he probably feels like me. just waiting on the chance to show off his skill.

ive only played a few people. and sometimes its like oh they're good but they don't do good in tournaments. or oh they don't seem that good to me but they always place high. or oh, man they'd be good if they played a better character.

Alabama tournaments are skill-gapped that how well you do in tournament strongly depends on what side of the bracket you're on.
were gonna have to step it up. go to more oos tourneys and get our practice on if we ever want to say we're "good".

i could call names and critique people's play all i want but it don't mean nothing. SEE ME IN TOURNAMENT MOTHA****A.

brawls easy to get "good" at, but incredibly difficult for most people to get "great" at.
most people who were good at melee are naturally good at brawl. but almost none of them are "great" at it. and they used to get top 10 in brawl tournaments, but you notice they don't place so well anymore in brawl tournaments. they'll say its because they don't care to practice. but that contradicts the idea that brawl is a game that you don't have to practice to get good.

as for inactive people. DanGR was beast mode for a second. the other people mentioned were pretty good but DanGR's the only one that I felt was ****ing with reflex and will and them

moogle coulda been on that level probably just cuz he's a very smart player but i dont guess he devotes much time to brawl anymore.

You're like the few melee players I can truly respect now that I've read this.

i wouldn't really call myself a "melee" player. i'm just a "smash" player. and im much better at brawl. soo. :)

but word thanks.

melee players don't mean any harm.
really its just that brawl players can be annoying and melee players like to troll them.

Yeah, let's stop arguing about who's good and who is not. I say disband the PR list entirely or at least make it only top 5. That means less argument and more fun. That way, the "good" players can just agree to respect each other's playing skill and stop dwelling on who should be ranked higher. The thing I hate about PR discussion is that it always involves inaccurate negative judgments of different players' skills as well as exaggeration of our own skills. "I've never played Bob or seen him play, so I don't think he's that good. On the other hand, check out how good I am."

As corny as this sounds, I would rather we just have a different attitude and build each other up, instead of pissing each other off by making negative and ill-informed assessments of each other's skill.

Cam, we are trying to see who's better. What if you never knew me before this exact moment and i just told you I was awesome at brawl and should be on the PR? Would you not doubt me and consider me for the PR or would you say lolno?

Wait, what? I am confused as to what you are asking. If you're asking if I would judge you poorly because I've never played you, then the answer is no. I have made a point in focusing on tournament results when I look at who should be on a PR. I have been rather notorious about it in fact. However, I can't say the same for other people who are actually panelists. Judging from comments they have made, they are more likely to pick people they have seen play, even if tournament results say something different.

I honestly just think the PR is mostly pointless. All I've seen it do is cause bickering, especially with regards to the bottom half of it. It's been awhile since I've seen it promote healthy competition. The people who mostly look at it are those who are already on it or those who think they should be on it already. I rarely see people admit that they still have work to do before they deserve a spot. They want immediate satisfaction and think because they got 9th in a small tournament or something they have earned it.

That's another thing: we don't have enough active players to justify a 10-man PR in my opinion. Top 5 is where the "great" players are, and I believe top 5 should be as far as we go.

I kinda see where your coming from Cam but I feel that the PR (though not 100% accurate) is still needed because one fact in all these years has not changed and that is "We all play brawl competitively" that is why we are on smashboards and that is how we have a community if you take away what is basically the glue of the community then we will soon wither away. That is just how I feel pls some feedback. Thx
