I understand that mentality because there is definitely some sort of trust that develops over time, but once faced with a possible pregnancy, I don't think it's appropriate to whine or be surprised if and/or when your girlfriend is pregnant. Basically, by accepting that lifestyle, you should also accept the consequences. =/
oh, i definitely agree there, good sir.

what is it with some people and their desperate need to announce their sexual orientation? it has nothing to do with this thread, why would you even bring it up?
Because it's funny.

unless youd like to share your thoughts on the relative dangers of unprotected hetero vs unprotected homosexual activity...
Well, hetero sex has the risk of pregnancy. Homo sex doesn't. And both have the risk of STDs, as well as relationship drama.

Tentatively, I'll go with the conclusion that homo sex wins by a slight margin.

Or, well, it would, if it weren't for the fact that it's illegal and punishable by death in certain societies.

condoms are overrated. just pull out quicker, dog. and make sure she takes birth control. i'm pretty sure a home-pregnancy test or a trip to the doctor will tell.
Better yet, why not do what Meta-Kirby suggested earlier and abstain overall? Not only that, it reduce risks of deadly STD's, which I was considering doing an blog about after an AIDS conference in my school.

Okay, yes, but that's not at all what this topic is about. It doesn't matter whether or not you are entitled to say how your sexual activity is greater in value than that of heterosexual individuals, but this is neither the time nor the thread to be gloating about it.
Besides, http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/homosexuality/ho0075.html can tell you that homosexual sex has a great number of unique hindrances that you regret to mention in your first tintinnabulation of a post, so it's obvious that your own bias is limiting your spectral view of the situation.
Either way, this discussion should never be happening. The topic says Teen Pregnancy; can we stay with that please?

EDIT: Please don't be dissuaded by the Catholic link. I am in no way religious. I simply did a google search. v.v

condoms can pop. no sure fire way to protect your self.
Or you can just use extra safe and/or learn how to put it on/use it properly.

Edit: Meta-Kirby don't use a religious link against homosexual sex and then call him biased. It's hypocritical.

See the edit. Religious doesn't exactly mean it's not true. They have alot of facts, and like I said above, I'm not even that religious and I simply did a Google search. How does stating the fact that the anal cavity has a greater possibility for blood vessel damage because of the thinner epithelial membrane between blood and the cavity make me hypocritical? That's strictly biology, sir.

some people don't feel a need to wait. i mean, if you're abstinent, more power to ya, but just remember not everyone thinks that way. of course it's safer. people prefer to be illogical in some cases, tho.

edit: i hope this doesn't become a homo/hetero debate.

Relax. It's a joke. The Internetz is not always serious business.

Besides, http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/homosexuality/ho0075.html can tell you that homosexual sex has a great number of unique hindrances
Those "hindrances" are not entirely "unique."

Furthermore, issues mentioned on that site (that which is not exaggerated or oversimplified) have been known to the LGBT community for a long-*ss time, and they are issues that have constantly been discussed. I would say that the LGBT community knows more about those issues than most religious-based organizations analyzing the situation from the outside.

And, lastly, STDs, promiscuity, physical, emotional and mental harm caused directly or indirectly by sexual activity are not exclusive to homosexuals. They are issues that pertain to all sexually active people.

All of these topics fall under the category of sex-related health concerns.

that you regret to mention in your first tintinnabulation of a post
My first post was on the first page. I "regret" to mention many things in that post, but that's because I was blabbing about pregnancy tests and menstrual cycles.

so it's obvious that your own bias is limiting your spectral view of the situation.
Bias? Me? Never.

How does stating the fact that the anal cavity has a greater possibility for blood vessel damage because of the thinner epithelial membrane between blood and the cavity make me hypocritical? That's strictly biology, sir.
It's not hypocritical.

It's only odd by the implication that only homosexuals practice anal sex, an implication made by the context in which these facts were presented.

edit: i hope this doesn't become a homo/hetero debate.
Too late!

I never read it, I just looked at the HTML. I never saw your edit either due to the fact that we both posted within a few seconds of each other.

Anyway an argument about which sex is better is pointless. It's just down to preference/sexual orientation really. We should keep this to teenage pregnancies to stop the easily offended trigger happy mods from closing this.

Note to self: No gay jokes in pregnancy threads.

I've learned my lesson.

Edit: Some people like to point out the problems with homosexuality, but a lot of those "problems" are just complications with sex itself--any form of sex. There's no such thing as 100% safe sex. Sex is behavior that has consequences, both good and bad. If you're doing it, you're acting as an adult, and no one else is going to look out for you, so you'd better look out for yourself and your partner.

Yeah, considering humans only have 2 real goals in life, (survival and reproduction) I think it's a slap in the face to whatever entity created us to wear a condom.

The way I see it, is that if you're not mature enough or responsible enough for the possibility of the consequences, don't initiate the action. Just don't do it.

Have you ever read for whom the bell tolls? Hemingway disagrees with this broad statement. The main character hooked up with this girl and "the earth moved" or something like that.

And jessiah, darwin was a scientist, not a social thinker. Human's feel like they don't belong in nature and are pretty obviously not a part of nature. Dolphins don't make governments to protect the rights of other dolphins; neither do squirrels nor plants; humans do. Locke and decartes were both influential philosophers who thought completely differently than darwin. No one half intelligent ever thinks that we are just animals keyed in for the survival of the species only.

Just saying...

Keep the homo/hetero debate out of here and the thread stays open. It's interesting, but the Pool Room is not the place for it.

aye, i didn't say they were a kick in the teeth or whatever the hell that means. i just said they're overrated. and i'm talking about feeling, not safety -__- of course you should use a condom if you haven't been with the person for very long :rocket: but after a certain point, i figure why not try it.

Sadly i agree, it all boils down to trust, and readiness for a child if proper prevention tools are not put in place.
