What ATs do you suggest, if any, that I focus on learning for Marth? Are there any that are actually important enough that I might use them basically every game, besides pivot grab? And that ledge grab DS one.

Don't worry about ATs, especially with Marth cus he has like two. Focus way more on just having precise control over your character.

Hmmm.. Then how much importance would you place on the Frame data? Is it worth memorizing for someone at my level (n00b)?

You really have followed in the footsteps of our sensei haven't you?

Also, it's true that Neo is probably top 5 MKs right now. I, along with many other top players in New Jersey think that Neo is probably the best player on the East Coast now that M2k is moving to Ohio, and is held back by Marth. It's okay though. When I'm playing perfectly, my Marth is nearly as good. He's just 9001 times more consistent than me.

Neo also has a **** Snake btw.
Considering I don't know what you guys use to determine player skill levels and such. With that said I look at tournaments results. I haven't seen any tournaments that would back what you're saying. If Neo was the best on the EC then no matter what tournament he went to minus M2K he would win. Considering that's what M2K did. With that said their are several high level players on the east coast. I don't think he's better than ninjalink TBH. ADHD and ANTI are also up there. Then there's some really good players in florida like seibrik CO18 afrothunder. Meep is like ****** the MD/VA area. So how is neo the best on the EC with out the results to back it up? I don't understand can you explain it to me?

I guess I was but he's taking too long to respond LoL. I still don't know why you have your own Q&A thread while there's a Q&A thread.

Wishing Apex 2012 happened again.
scrub read the OP, it's mostly from his direct input and how he feels. <3:3AL

I HAS QUESTIONS PAPA STEEL!

1. How do you feel about the snake matchup personally? I use Mario and Luigi but get like ***** to 2 stocked, and I use Marth and lost to a none-nade using snake which made me cry hard to the point where l needed to drop Marth lol. But when I fight Mintyflesh's Snake, with marth, l feel like I'm neo on crack tho lol.

2. In a tourney match, and just match about to start, what are the few things that run in your mind?

3. Are you *** irl 0.o.

edit: they censor j@panese? wtf? LOL

ok I have a question. What are the most reliable approaches I have with Marth that can firstly cancel out projectiles, secondly pressure a defensive opponent and thirdly can be quite reliable in doing it's job of getting into offensive? Furthermore once I've punished my opponent once I was in defence, what can I do in offensive to really get as much damage as I can in offensive? I've read the various threads here so I've, in fact, tried my best to maintain that impression- but I have read them lol.

To just cancel projectiles you can swat them with jab or fair, or just power shield them.

Fair and walk to dtilt are probably your best approaches. Both great for shield pressure and your opponent is almost guaranteed to take damage if you touch their shield with dtilt cus of dancing blade.

What you want to do is just maintain your aggressive zoning (fair jab dtilt mostly) against them. Put them on the defensive and keep them there. You want to maintain control as long as possible and if you lose it try to bring it back as quick as possible.

Is Shield Breaker considered a good move to use occasionally, and if so, what are some clever ways to set it up? :)

I don't think you answered this question yet...

When it comes to frame data just know what moves are fast and what aren't, it isnt that important for smash.

I don't think shield breaker is good at all and should only be used when their shield is already reduced and you KNOW it will hit. There's no ways to set it up, just having good prediction skills.

So its not necesary to worry myself over the frames too much. :) Also, this is a quote from your Frame thread, and maybe I should ask there, but since I'm here

ADVANTAGE FORMULA: SHIELDSTUN + HIT - SHIELDHITLAG - END (or IASA)
I never really understood what this really means or how it's used. (Thanks for answering my questions btw)

It shows how many frames advantage/disadvantage you are at once your attack hits a shield.

For example:

Down Tilt
Hit: 7-13
End: 47
IASA: 21
Shield Stun: 11
~Shield Hit Lag: 4
ADVANTAGE: -7

If dtilt hits on frame 7 there is 11 frames where your opponent is stuck in there shield without being able to do anything, there is also 4 frames where you are frozen on contact.

11 shield stun + 7 hit - 4 shield hit lag - 21 IASA = -7 Advantage. The -7 represents when the opponent can come out of their shield with a grab or jump, though if they try to come out and do a ground move that takes 7 extra frames so the advantage becomes 0. (im pretty sure anyway, long time since ive done this stuff) >_>

No, what needs rediscussing?
Well nothing I suppose, Marth is considered Diddy's hardest match-up as of right now. (tied with Luigi IMO) I just wanted to see if what you guys thought of the match-up was any different or changed since the last time it was discussed.

GW .. mostly bair, which is why he can overall be a pretty predictable character. Though his dtilt can cover himself well and so can his nair, but we outrange both of those.

Dedede's brickwalls would consist of his waddle dee spam and his ftilt. Perhaps some bair zoning as well.

Which of Marth's attacks outrange g&W's dtilt?
at least dtilt ftilt fsmash shield breaker, prolly a couple others

Which characters it is better to play defensively against, other then Wario.
MK, somewhat snake, maybe DK, maybe Ganon, bowser, ICies, jiggs, d3, maybe sonic i dunno.

vs heavies it's practically a given that you may need to camp some

I doubt it, wouldn't they just clash? I'm guessing g&w's dtilt would be more likely to win since marth is extending his arm on all those moves. plus ftilt, fsmash, and sb are not reliable they're horrible on block.

Uh, how important is the ftilt compared to the dtilt? I find myself not using the ftilt that often... am I a n00b for that? :)
