Sort on topic but not really: I fully support an Emil project. What do you guys think?

We'll being having a vote on the next character. That way we have a majority agreement. However, it's not like we can actually start them until RTB or someone aware of his process can fix that respective model. Fortunately, we won't be asking that for a while. Even after official release, Lloyd is still going to need work.

The good part is that we can expect work on the next character to go extremely quickly given how many behaviors we learned about Lloyd's model. Plus, thanyou documented TONS of animations so he shouldn't even have to get a memory dump.

Yeah, let's not get ahead with all these other characters until we finish the one we're working on.
Although I do admit I am dreaming of making Colette and Zelos recolors <3

I need your help guys, as you can see that model of the Rheaird I got is VERY, VERY low poly and would look pretty bad in game so I need you guys to rack your brains and think of anytime you SEE a Rheaird in game (Except for the world map, which is where I got that model) cuz if there's a higher poly Rheiard I want to know about it.

I'm confused, BSL says to download individual files and Zephron says to download the data partition.

In the word document directions it says to place one of the text files into the info2.pac

Since I am missing the Lloyd replacement for battle match and the victory screen, I assumed that's where I was missing since I do not have info2.pac
You could also use Jdownloader to download the data partition. It's a program that checks the page for any folders or download links and downloads all of them for you. http://jdownloader.en.softonic.com/

Hey guys, I just figured out how we're truly going to do the sounds with Stickman.

He's a pretty busy fellow, (He has school for like the rest of June) but he promised to do 5 sounds per week. I already gave him the sounds for this week, btw.

The sounds will kind of vary in kind for the moment, but I will try to be more organized later.

If we all keep doing what we're doing, sounds should be finished around the same time everything else is.

Shoot, I could've sworn there's a few instances of a higher poly count Rheiard within a cutscene. Maybe I could encourage my brother to run through the game with me on a continued file (that has level 200 monsters to ravage with) so we could sweep it very quickly (sadly, we can't skip cutscenes for this purpose). When we find the spot, I can swipe the save file and hand it over to you.

I am currently playing the game, I'm on Chapter 8 but I don't ever recall seeing a Rheiard except the one on the World Map.

Well THAT'S a Rheiarded first post.
No need to be so Beastly , bro. You're going to stir up a Tempest of trouble!

I have that, but it's about 1 second too long. Which is actually a ton.

It could only be: "Give me your name..." even if I sped it up past recognition.
There are better options, trust me.

@ GD

Omigosh omigosh gimme pics or it didnt happen
One of Wolf's Taunts actually lasts longer than a second I think, see how many frames it is.

Its the one where he says "What th' matter, scared?"

Also, I just said the actual lines to myself, I estimate that line lasts maybe about a 1.75 seconds give or take a few milliseconds.

He said one second too long, not "one second, which is too long". Either way, I have to be perfectly honest and say that I think that would make a horrible taunt. There are much better choices. I say we stick with the ones already decided on.

I agree with this.

The one that it could maybe fit into would be replacing "This is gonna be a piece of cake!" or a couple other ones that would be much more popular.

If more people feel strongly about it I'll try to fit it in but for now let's leave it. Focus on finding a Rheiard!

Also, good news:

I talked to LookIt'sLink, and he volunteered to do some vertex hacking for us.
If you can find a good model, maybe we can vertex a tower of salvation into the game.

I'm also going to try and make the Lloyd beach costume with some vertex hacking ^_^

Btw those puns made me thrust my palm upon my face.
See? It's funny because it's thr... I'll stop now.

will it be possible to put one of the dwarven vows as a taunt?
Fix'd.

And not currently. I don't have any of those sounds on my computer. We'd need to rip out some new ones if more people want it.

I hope you don't want Dwarven Vow #7.

You know what it is.
I know you guys are going to say it anyways... so..
#7: Justice and Love will always win!

Side track but:
do you know all the Dwarven Vows ever mentioned? I get them mixed up (like one's not to lie, another's to help others, etc).

A few suggestions

"Don't try anything funny" toward Regal. Shorten the clip in Brawlbox to make him say only that line.

"I don't quite get it...but I got it."

"Okay, thats enough,"

...Wait, how many of Lloyd's lines actually have voice overs?

The only other one I can think of is Dwarven Vow #16: You can do anything if you try.

Read the thread. That one's already been decided on (I think).
IDK why you guys are focusing on taunts so much right now, but I suppose we can get this out of the way now since everyone is interested.

@GD

Put up a poll or something perhaps and have us vote on the taunts.
Have everyone vote for their favorite taunt and we'll choose the top 3.
Get on Skype when you want to do it and I can give you all the options I have that are actually capable of being made.

I recommend using the end-battle quotes for the victory screen and the ingame quotes for the taunts.

Currently I have these made and I thought these were fine but tell me what you think:

Taunts:
1.) Like that?
2.) Come on, bring it!
3.) This is gonna be a piece of cake!

Victory

1.) I was just warming up.
2.) You picked the wrong guy to mess with!
3.) Ha! (the sound had to be really short.)

I don't see this poll method working out well considering the length limitations that people aren't going to be factoring in. I say just stick with what you have now. It seems fine to me.

Honestly, I think they're all fine. Like Fen said, it'd probably be too much of a hassle if they have to consider sound lengths and junk.

Geez, we died for a second there.

I hope we can all still work on this a little until school ends, at least.
Haven't seen SaxMeister in awhile. Maybe get him and SqLeon to work on the PSA together?

I'll do my part and release 2 textures (one being the finished Pirate costume) this weekend.

But I've been thinking about the stage. The ones I saw imported were pretty awesome, but I'd like to remind you guys that we can still create our own stages via model swapping, vertex hacking, and textures.

Is anyone on the team that is actually experienced with stage making, though?

Well, let's start discussing ideals for stages, then. What would be the setting? In these settings, how would the level be made? Should it be focused on Lloyd or have a little something for everyone?

Hmmm. Iselia comes to mind. You could fight on top of the school (XD) or something. Or the level could be a general overview of Iselia, with various areas to fight on.

Tower of Salvation would be cool too. Have bottomless pits on either side with the occasional Chosen coffin float by as a platform?

Uhh... what else is Lloyd specific... Dirk's house? Iselia Human Ranch?

How about that cool circular platform where you fought Forcystus?

That's cool but not recognizable at all. I'd prefer something that's instantly recognizable at ToS1. Tower of Salvation and Dirks house are cool. But Dirk's house sounds really hard to vertex, and I doubt we have the model for that.

(Then again I haven't played ToS2 so I wouldn't know.)

Personally I think the stage should be Lloyd specific because we're going to do more Tales characters, so as long as we keep this project going we can have a multitude of stage options.

Inside the tower of salvation sounds the best but idk how I'd do that. Especially the coffin thing.

I could do the outside of the Tower of Salvation in the background, for sure.
