Although I wouldn't be surprised if Blocked Content and LaxChris are behind this tomfoolery. The closer we get to the VGAs, the more fake leaks will pop up, so it's going to be a minefield until then.

Capcom has so many amazing characters and IPs at their disposal, that they can have their own Smash Bros. to be honest.

Yeah, sadly they won't because they mostly prefer to sit on their laurels with Street Fighter. At least that gets the Final Fight characters and a new Strider.

It's a shame they only attempted a full on Capcom vs Capcom once and it wasn't all that good (I think it was Fighting Evolution?). Nothing against the vs series, but it always ends up being "Capcom vs side I don't really care for because I don't read comics/care for most anime", I'd like a full focus on their IPs alone so generally less appreciated stuff can get the spotlight, like Breath of Fire or God Hand.

The kicker is that Capcom Fighting All-Stars (which was more half-established, half-new characters, with Ingrid being the only one that got salvaged) was cancelled solely because focus test audiences didn't really like the transition into 3D. All that we got from CFE was Ingrid awkwardly being included in Street Fighter Alpa 3 Upper as the true owner of Psycho Power, and barely any sign of her afterwards.

It feels like Ono wants Capcom to do bolder things, like Nintendo Vs. Capcom, but his hands are tied because they don't want to do anything that's unsafe.

Well, you got the original trilogy one, the AJ one (it looks different enough to me to distinguish it from the original trilogy), the blown up one in DD, and the overseas court from SoJ. I think they'd likely stick with the original trilogy design, but wouldn't be opposed to variants.

I don't think that would be neccesary, the courtroom works just fine by itself, but as long as the judge appears in the background Im ok with just an static stage.

For the Courtoom stage, they can take the Persona / SNK approach of changing the defense and prosecution on the background according to the music.
Listening to Guilty Love without watching Klavier's air guitar on the background would be a shame.

And they can shift the expressions of each side depending on the theme.
You see Phoenix pointing and smashing the table during his Objection and Pursuit themes and Edgeworth getting frustrated.
And Edgeworth doing the same for his themes (Which includes AAI objections and pursuits because why not) and Phoenix sweating and doing goofy expressions.

By the way. Nick gets the Duck Hunt treatment with his stage.

What are y'alls thoughts on that recent Dante Sabi rumor(currently unconfirmed)? I personally don't believe it. Considering very little people actually know who the fifth character is, I think it's people looking at the DMC collection date and thinking it's related to smash.

Sabi's a clown, I don't lend any credence to what she says. That said, I'm sticking to Dante being disconfirmed for the FP, but I feel he's fair game for after.

Well, uh, that was basically one of the biggest roadblocks out of the way, though Dante is still a possibility for post-pass.

I feel genuinely bad, like as cool as it is that your series is getting in Smash, for Leon, Jill, and Wesker to just get snapped like that is crazy. Even if this makes Phoenix's chances better, this is still a big oof as a Capcom fan who was low key hoping we'd get Dante, Jill, AND Phoenix at the end of the day.

You might have read this, but sabi said Dante isn't fighter 5, for whatever that might be worth.
I do think Capcom getting a character during the fighters pass makes a 2nd one afterwards likelier, otherwise it might get a little cranked depending on how they handle the new character waves.

I think Capcom getting new spirits opens the floodgate for FP5 being a Capcom character. Was probably a part of the deal they made.

Personally I think Monster Hunter was out the minute they showed off Rathalos and not him/her. That and the fact that the devs have said that they like to have the monsters cross over instead of the hunters cuts down their chances pretty hard. This is more or less what I was going to say, one of wyomings old posts convinced me on MH not happening. I still feel Ammy is pretty much nearly impossible as things are right now, but boy would I not mind eating that crow given how great I think she could be. But back to Phoenix, I'm not getting myself pumped as I feel if he is our Capcom rep, TGA won't be the place for his great reveal, and post FP Dante is theoretically back in the running, so yeah, I guess we'll see how things continue from here.

Nippon Ishi period is overkill though. Didn't even have enough time for fans to bring them up more often.
