It's hard to rank Phoenix as my most wanted. Because I have wanted Dixie Kong in since a very very long time. I'm a devoted fan of the Donkey Kong games (DKC2 is my favorite game of all time) and I'm still puzzled that Dixie is not in yet after more than 10 years have passed since Brawl. But that's talking about 1st parties.
If we are talking about Third Parties. Then yes, Phoenix Wright actually Edgeworth, Phoenix is a requirement to get him as playable is my most wanted.
But aside from the fact that I love the series and I devoure most of the AA games in a few days. I think he fits perfectly in Smash. He is a Nintendo character as much as Dante is a Playstation character. Like UMvsC3 proved (Where I mained him), he has amazing silly moveset potential that Sakurai loves to imagine, and the music and all the stuff that comes with the Fighter Pass fits perfectly with the AA series.
It just clicks with me as an amazing idea that most people would love. Because over the years the AA series has been attached to the players as if it was part of Nintendo.
No other third party IP clicks with me as a greater fit to Smash than Ace Attorney.
Oh boy, that quantity of music is tempting. But I don't think we would get as many songs as SNK, that was a special case. Realistically, I give the Ace Attorney series a max of 11 songs like Persona. Many of them need a touch-up because of GBA and DS's required sound compression tho.
I think my selection would be:
Objection 2001 / Pursuit Cornered (New Remix)
Steel Samurai theme - New Remix (Now with 100% more Kabuki YOOOOOS)
Investigation Medley, from the whole series like Kirby's Boss Medley, I need an excuse to put JFA's investigation themes somewhere (New Remix)
Godot - Fragance of Dark Coffee (New Remix)
Pursuit - Caught (New Remix), specifically from Iwadare please
Pursuit - Lying Coldly
Pursuit - Wanting to Find the Truth (New Remix please)
Pursuit - Keep Pressing On
Phoenix Wright - Objection 2016
Apollo Justice - A New Chapter of Trials 2016
Athena Cykes - Courtroom Revolutionnaire 2016
I think that would leave most people happy? Not enough space for the theme of the rock star prosecutor sadly. Dang, choosing music is hard. How does Sakurai manage to pick them without feeling guilty?
I'm noticing a worrying lack of Prosecutor's Path music here...
Also the OG design should be the default.
Other than that, it's pretty cool. Bonus points for Dracula as the boss.

As much as I love Prosecutor's Path and its music, (such as the amazing objection theme and the even more amazing pursuit theme) it might be hard to include since it isn't localized. I wouldn't say it's impossible though.

I don't think it's an issue at all. We have the vocal japanese versions of many themes in Smash and some music remixes from Japan-only games (At the time) like Mother 1 and 3, the Mysterious Murasame Castle when the game and character weren't even out in America yet (It came out a few months before 4 for 3DS's VC) and more.
They would just name it from "Gyakuten Kenji 2" and put it there.
So if you had to choose only 12 songs to represent Ace Attorney, (Also, let's say only 6 of them can be new remixes) what would be your picks?
I'd have to go with:

Sakurai said in the Terry presentation that he expected SNK to approve about 10 to 20 songs. With that in mind, I think the absolute maximum amount of songs we could get for Ace Attorney (and any other new series that gets brought into Smash) is 20, and I'd personally narrow it down to the following...
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Pursuit ~ Cornered (New Remix)
Phoenix Wright ~ Objection! 2001 (New Remix)
Maya Fey ~ Turnabout Sisters 2001 (New Remix)
The Steel Samurai (New Remix)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All
Pursuit ~ Questioned (New Remix)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations
Pursuit ~ Caught (New Remix)
Pursuit ~ Cornered 2004
Phoenix Wright ~ Objection! 2004 (New Remix)
Godot ~ The Fragrance of Dark Coffee (New Remix)
Mask☆DeMasque ~ Please Listen! (New Remix)
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
Pursuit ~ Overtaken
Apollo Justice ~ A New Trial is in Session! (New Remix)
Klavier Gavin ~ Guilty Love
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth
Pursuit ~ Lying Coldly
Miles Edgeworth ~ Objection! 2009 (New Remix)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies
Pursuit ~ Keep Pressing On
Athena Cykes ~ Courtroom Revolutionnaire 2016
Simon Blackquill ~ Twisted Swordsmanship (New Remix)

Presto 2011 and Wanting to Find the Truth are missing. Ouch my heart.
About the number. Capcom is very cooperative. But Street Fighter's list in Smash 4 was incredibly small. Basically just Ryu and Ken's themes repeated three times.
Maybe they didn't want to overload the HDD of the players. But on Ultimate that went out of the window with SNK's list.
I still think we would get 10 - 11 because that's what Bayonetta, Persona and Banjo Kazooie got.
Hopefully Sakurai is also a big fan of the music and would give us FIFTY... mmm.. twenty like you are saying.
About what version of Cornered to use. Of course they would make a new one. But I always see the Project X Zone 2's version being ignored when it's so intense and perfect for battle like the UMvsC3 theme (But without the rave party autotune).
1.Objection 2001 (New remix)
2.Objection 2004 (From Spirit of justice)
3.Objection 2007 (From Dual Destinies)
4.Objection 2011 (New remix)
5.Objection 2017
6. Trilogy Pursuit medley (AA1/AA3)
7.Turnabout Sisters (New remix)
8.Steel Samurai (New remix)
9.Courtroom revolutionarie (From Spirit of justice)
10.Guilty love (Gyakuten Saiban 4 album version)
I think that covers the important songs. For the Steel samurai remix make it so that it sounds like an actual Tokusatsu theme, like the pachinko machine did, it fits perfectly for it.
Objection 2001 and 2011 get remixes because they are Nicks and Edgeworths themes and deserve the special treatment above the other characters
I haven't played Ace Attorney Investigations 2, for obvious reasons... and I know there's a fan translation out there, but that would require an emulator, and I'd rather not have to use an emulator after almost losing my computer to a virus that snuck in while I was dabbling in DS emulators.
Besides revealing Ace Attorney 7, I hope the next big thing Capcom does this series is finally give Ace Attorney Investigations 2 an official English translation, bundle it together with Apollo Justice and the first Investigations game, and release them all on modern platforms in all regions as "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy 2" or something like that. I initially lost hope of Investigations 2 getting localized... but then Square Enix recently took Seiken Densetsu 3, a game that was infamously never released outside Japan for the longest time, finally gave it an English translation and released it as part of Collection of Mana. If that can happen, hopefully Capcom can do the same for Ace Attorney Investigations 2.

I want Phoenix so much that I could not get another character for the rest of the lifespan of the game and still be happy. But if I could choose a second it would be Crash or my pipe dreams (Geralt, PoP etc).

There is a serious contradiction between that statement and your username.
You don't even need an emulator. I played the whole fan translated game on my 3DS without a single problem. You only the need the game file and you know.... the thing...
This board has a Project M section so I don't feel any remorse to say this when it's Capcom who doesn't let us to play this masterpiece.
By the way, has anyone here played AI: Somnium Files? I believe it's a murder mystery game created by someone who worked on the Zero Escape games. It looks really cool but I haven't gotten around to playing it yet.
Late to the party on this one, but Wright's my realistic most wanted at the moment. My most wanted pipe dream pick would be Frisk from Undertale, with Hat Kid from A Hat in Time being a close second.
As for soundtrack, god, Ace Attorney's is so good, as long as we get a decent variety from across the series, I'll be satisfied.
Ok so somehow Phoenix Wright in smash is so popular on Twitter, the topic Phoenix Wright became the 15th most trending topic. I thought that was kind of funny.

It's trending because there's a meme going around for people to make their own version of the Fighter's Pass, and so many people are putting Phoenix as one of the options.

I just finished the main story of the first Ace Attorney game in the trilogy.
It was really cool :D
I wanted to ask if I should do the 5th episode of the game now or if I should go straight for the next game since I heard people say it's better to complete the trilogy before doing the 5th episode of the first game...

I would definitely go on to Justice for All, as I feel that RFTA is better saved for after Trials and Tribulations but before Apollo Justice, despite it being written to take place before JFA.

Yeah. Go to Justice for All first. The length and difficulty of Rise from the Ashes tends to turn some people away. And also it won't affect anything until the post-trilogy games.
You can do it now of course. But be aware that you may get stuck there for a looooooong time.

Rise from the Ashes is probably the hardest case in the original trilogy. It's also the longest case, with it taking three trials and investigations spanning mutliple parts. One playthrough would take at least eight hours. With that said, it's skippable for the original trilogy since the events of the case are not brought up again until Apollo Justice. If you want to see Phoenix tackle his biggest challenge yet, all without the help of Maya or Mia, then it's very satisfying as it tests your deduction skills and theory crafting to the limit. With that said, as the events of the case go ignored for the rest of the trilogy, it's okay to skip it and come back to it later. I personally recommend starting Justice for All, but I do think Rise of the Ashes by itself is a stronger experience than most of Justice for All is.
