why would the sonic series have two reps sakurai already said there's going to be 2-3 third party characters already two spots filled up and tails is very similar to sonic if you asked me

Thats BS, were only getting 3 max 3rd parties, no have been confirmed, theres NO WAY sega will get to of the 3 rep spots, that would be unfair to every other 3rd party company, UNLESS we get 2 characters per 3rd party:
snake and gray fox
megaman and bass?
sonic and the yellow crap
if not then AT is the only way, besides Tails wouldnt bring the OMG like another 3rd party like megaman or bomberman would...

Knuckles is Dum. Hes hardly even an important character in the series now a days. The reason why the Sonic Series should have more people is because he is sonic. He is just as big as Mario and has a lot of popular characters. If anything the rate of the character being in from best to worst would be Sonic - Tails - Shadow - Knuckles - Amy

Comon lets be realistic here Sakurai said 2-3 more third party, even though I would like Tails over Megaman or Ridley.
I still think it would a huge waste, but Tails is going to be in the game no matter probably as an Assist Trophy.
But for all those saying Tails can't have a moveset its uber nonsense,just use his Sonic Battle moveset and change things a bit.
Note:Knuckles and Shadow would never get in before Tails, its illogical.

I heard is IP was banned so I doubt he's coming back, on topic Knuckles may be cooler then Tails, but he still lack Tails seniority power.

However, as I have shown. IGN states that it is likely a second Sonic character will make it. Also following SEGA history, SEGA is reluctant to release Sonic without at least adding on 1 or 2 of Sonic's entourage. Also Sakurai's statement about 1-2 third party was made back in 2006 and it has been noted that the statement is probably out the window now as other parties are making offers. We have no idea what they put in the game, it could very well be no more third party characters make it but Tails. However, I doubt that. I personally think Tails has a great chance and I have experts, not newb posters on the board, that agree with me.

which evidence? you only said that there can be 3 third party characters I think it's highly unlikely that they're going to add two third party characters from the same serie so which other evidence do you have? he's not a villain or a female that isn't a plus either

IGN saying "Well, Tails might randomly be in too for all I know" is not a good point of argument at all. So please stop bringing it up like it's some kind of legitimate hint to Tails' inclusion.
The "Sonic doesn't go anywhere without his entourage" argument is equally baseless. Yes, Sega does love to throw in new characters to just about every new Sonic title, but Sonic And The Secret Rings came out not too long ago, and to my knowledge, Sonic is the only main character in it (I think Tails and the gang make cameos, but that's it).
Don't get me wrong; I would LOVE for Tails to be in. More so even than Sonic being in. It just really isn't that likely. Possible? Sure. No arguments there. I'm just not convinced we should be expecting him.
Also, just so you know. . .
These two posts made me start to not like you. You can defend your points without being cocky about it.

Sorry I just don't like the flaming posters who think they know more then IGN and keep posting the same issue that Sakurai will only allow 1-2 3rd party characters after that has been debunked. Just because Tails is in, doesn't mean it knocks out Megaman, Geno, Bomberman, Pacman, Simon Belmont or whoever else people want in the game. Tails would have a very unique move set and with the flying ability he will be on par with a jigglypuff/kirby character.

Or even Meta Knight (he seems to have ridiculous recovery too). I would have to agree that Tails would make a great character regardless of his likelihood. People who say he doesn't have any chance at all aren't anymore correct than those who say he will be in without a doubt (though, unfortunately, the naysayers are probably thinking a bit more realistically).

Ign choose Tails as there first choice I mean he was the reader choice after all, if Tails managed to get in this game I think him summoning his plane the tornado would be a good FS.

Yes, Tails most likely would get in if another PC Sonic character is in....I still think Knuckles would be better though...

I am pretty sure no one else is joining Sonic though, I Really hope Tails and Knuckles make it as Assist trophies...I would be sad if they don't.
I don't really care about Shadow I don't think he fit anywhere except being an alternate costume for Sonic and of course Dr.Ivo"Eggman"Robotnik would make an awesome boss in the space emissary story.

I love the whole Subspace emissary mode they have... great addition to brawl. BTW what are Wiis going for in your area... I thinking about picking one up during Thanksgiving break and maybe getting either the Olympics or Super Mario Galaxy.

I've always liked Tails better than Sonic. Yeah, even back when I hated Sonic a lot for some odd reason, I liked Tails. =P
However, I have to say he isn't deserving of a spot. The other spots should be for characters of other series/companies. I would like to see Tails as an AT, though!

If hes in I'm going to laugh at everybody else because thats 1 less spot for thier 3rd party characters to get in such as Megaman or Pacman. Screw them, just get more sonic characters. And I'm not being sarcastic. The Sonic Series deserves more than 1 spot in the SSB series.

Tails as more priority then Knuckles, he unlike Knuckles alway appear no matter what.
Sonic Rush Adventure is a good exemple, Knuckles didn't appear in the game at all while Tails did.
Tails is a more classic icon then Knuckles is, Knuckles may be a better fighter but he would be a close combat fighter we already have tons of character like him in Brawl.
Tails would be more of a mid-range fighter, using his two tails and various gadgets to ensure a original moveset.

Yeah, but Knuckles is much cooler than Tails. Why do you people even like him? He's an annoying 8 year old fox who is constantly whining for Sonic. And how would you know if he's more popular in Japan? You're probably just making stuff up to make him sound better. This argument is dumb anyway, the Sonic series won't have any more reps. The remaining third party slots will go to different franchises.

The only reason Tails makes an appearance is because he's known to be Sonic's sidekick. Not every one of Sonic's rivals will make an actual appearance in all of his games. Sonic Rush is mainly centered around Sonic whether or not Tails does make an appearance. Tails would get pwned. Simple as that

A.K.A your opinion, face it if Tails was in the game people would be more happy then sad.
The same thing happened with Sonic inclusion you got all the haters but the lovers still form the majority.

Finally some idiocy... as pointed out in numerous threads... please read. Sakurai was making a guess with that statment and it was over a year and a half ago. Alot has changed since then. That was not a solid statement and therefore there could be as many as 10 3rd party characters for all we know. I posted a link to a thread awhile ago where Sakurai made a statement in that same interview and has since changed it (he said that there would be no mode that uses the wii remote, as we know that is not true. At the time he was just speculating just as he was with the third party characters).
I sorry I sound like a butt but I am getting tired of these repetitve dumb posts when this was debated earlier in the thread and has already been debunked numerous times on this board.
