All they did was play the demo. How do they have any more access than we do? Give me the link where they said "Nintendo told us Tails would be in" and I'll believe you. How can you even try to use that as evidence? Prime example of an obsessed fanboy overanalyzing and searching for what's not there.
PS: I'm not trying to start an argument. I really have nothing against Tails, I would just prefer Knuckles.

What are you talking about? I never said Tails was in the game. volbound1700 keeps on using that IGN quote as proof/evidence that Tails could be in.

Evidence that he could be, not proof that he is or confirmed. IGN visits the freaking games all over the place and talks with the makers first hand. Something we don't do unless we are insiders. IGN knows alot about SEGA and Nintendo dealings, and as I stated earlier which is supported by IGN, SEGA doesn't like to give Sonic out without including Tails or Knuckles or somebody along with him. Obviously Nintendo won't put 4-5 Sonic characters in it, but a second one is very possible.

He just quoted what IGN said it was a mere statment saying he had more chance then the other Sonic characters, Volbound1700 never said Tails was automatically in the game because of that statment learn to read seriously.

Does anyone remember that april fools joke (I think it was a GamePro magazine)? Anyways it was obviously an April edition that said if you killed 100 people in cruel melee (I think) you would unlock Sonic and Tails. They also showed pictures of the two characters in the bottom right and left corners of the character selection screen. I spent A LOT of time trying to do that!

Anyway, I apologize. After rereading my posts, I do seem like a biased troll. Sonic and Tails have been together since the beginning, so he would probably the best choice for another Sonic character.

I'm not sure how the licensing of rights to video game characters work as I tried and failed to gain any knowledge of it researching it today; but I think if Nintendo and Sega are partnered (according to wikipedia) and are using both of the band of mascots in one game then it would be a lot easier to license Tails then it would be to venture out and get other characters. Another thing that makes this thought seem valid is that that the developers at super smash bros liked the old sonic games over the new ones. (stuff like the sounds he makes while spin dashing) meaning that they might like the classic co-main hero tails instead of the new one shadow.
This was just a thought that has been floating around in my head and I wanted to gain a little information on the topic. Please if anyone can enlighten me on how third party character licensing works please post/correct me. I'm a big fan of classic tails (not the 4kids girly sounding gizmo using sorry excuse for a character they have now) and I would like to know the chances of tails getting into the brawl.

I apologize too for my bad nature... I just get tired of repeating the same argument over and over again to each new person who comes in with it. I wish they would at least read my threads and posts before commenting (MetalKnox you seem like you did read it a little but some of the other trolls didn't).

Tails as the most chance of being the next playable character in the Sonic franchise thats all I have to say, the percentage however are quite small.
Unless they add a secret character for each franchise an exemple,
Metal Gear Solid gets Raiden and the Sonic franchise could get Tails.

It is easier to get a character from a company you have already contracted with then to go get new ones, however this doesn't necessarily increase tails chance because other third party characters are wanted and Nintendo pretty much can get almost anyone they want since they are such a large entity and the Wii is doing so successful right now. Brawl is such a hit so far that it seems likely that Nintendo can go out and get Megaman or Bomberman or Pacman if they want them.

Just kidding. As a moveset for Tails, I like this character from Soni the Most, but in all aspects.. It'd be hard to make a good moveset. Knuckles would be a lot easier, but I don't like him very much... He's too static, but when they changed him, it was far to dramatic. He's just become unlikable to me.
Moving on, I think Sonic should just Solo this adventure. Even as much as I'd love pummeling Luigi with Tails, I don't feel it happening. But who knows, when you beat Classic mode with Sonic, we may be in for a surprise!

Tails has a lot of moves, his flying move for one, then his ability to use technology. He could use his tail as weapons. He has the spin dash, just not as good as Sonic.

I think it would be very easy to make a tails moveset. They could take moves from sonic adventure, sonic battle, sonic advance, and just be creative. They made a moveset everyone seems to love for fox, which they had nothing to work with. He could also have a unique recovery system that works how he flies in the games like sonic 3 and the sonic advance series.

I agree with all of you guys, he should be able to use those chu chu bomb as a B move from Sonic Battle, not only is it cool but its also a reference to another franchise.

I agree 100% nothing would be more kick *** then seeing him as a boss in some uber mech especially if he used the doomdays mech from Sonic 3&Knuckles.

I agree with you guys about everything. Tails would have an easy move set in my opinion. The first thing that comes to my mind his ability to fly. Kinda of how peach hovered in melee. His tail would spin just like in the classic games. Tails would be perfect for a counterpart for Luigi. Which also makes me believe that there will be four 3rd party characters. Tails and MegaMan for the final two. Doc for a boss? Im getting wayyyy to excited for this.

Tails has a vast array of weaponry. Knuckles has two: His left and right fist.

Knuckles was the big thing back in the day...Fast and powerful! I had the comics and Sonic was surprised at Knuckles glide and power...
Knuckles has always been my favorite character in the Sonic games since his debut
