What if Top 8 can tell you who they lost to and who they beat?
Mmm the idea is to rank everybody in the tournament, not only a few of them, even if they're the top 8... sorry

While quick-searching tournaments already ranked, i saw a Snake face next to your name in one event... I'll remove him though

This really isn't a good way to measure who's the 10 strongest Brawl players in the U.S. (or the world).

The list disregards a player's reputation, How often he/she's played top opponents, and how often he/she's beaten them. This explains why ksizzle should be Top 10, but is not (He's played only 3 tournaments, all of them top-class)

I suggest a poll should be made asking which 10 players deserves to be Top 10.

Nope... Things have been running well... if you don't like it then ignore it... It's the TOs responsibility to create a bracket image in things of that nature so things can be more accurate.

Polls are just collective opinions... Men Lie, Women Lie... Numbers Don't... ya dig

The fact that I can enter a tournament with 300 6 year olds with a 30$ entry fee and get first place netting me enough points to be in top 10 of this list is what makes its flawed.

I still appreciate it though because it's better than nothing and still nice to look at and a lot of hard work.

Also Rajam: SK92 uses Falco and Metaknight, Z uses Pikachu and Fox, FOW uses Ness and Metaknight, and Sleeh uses Olimar.

You guys should do something like where you collect data for this list, and then you rank people later on BASED on the people on the list. Like If you are #100, you get so many points for beating the number 30, and more for number 20, and etc. Like you base where people are ranked/how much a win is worth based on the people that are beaten on the already started list.

I'm pretty sure if there was a 300 person tourney with that entry fee and a big prize in Texas that both Gnes and Razor hear about it and be there.

Also if the tourney did have only noobs I'm pretty sure the rulesets wouldn't be legit, the bracket may be single elim, or the bracket will probably not have a tio file. Each one of those examples will probably exempt that tourney for this list.

So chances of tourney like that happening and being used here are less than 1% if you go by the amout of tournies already counted (100+)

You were probably talking in general Ozz but I felt like stating this :p

Also, tournaments with limited entries or by invitation only are not being ranked, so as Keitaro said it's very unlikely to have a big event with big payouts full of noobs and not a lot of pros stealing the money XD

I'm just saying that the criteria for how many points one gets shouldn't be from number of entrants or Pot size. What comes first is the skill of other players who are there and region, entrants/pot should come after that. If I get 7th/30 at a Texas tourny and you (Keit) get 7th/30 at a NY/NJ tournament, you should get more points because generally your tournies have more skill/competition, you live in a more skilled region (for now!).

And I 2nd DMG. More points from beating top ranked players would seal the deal in making this list as accurate as can be. An example: Dojo, ranked 19th just got a win over Atomsk, rank 7, so he should get a lot of points from doing that (not necesarily higher than Atomsk though, since his results are better than Dojos overall).
It would all be pretty hard to code though, I would imagine.

Lol I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, Its still good what we have right now, but those are just suggestions

Yeah I get your point :shyguy:; I'm currently working on that, I still have to come with a good formula. I think in a month or two I should come up with something decent and then I'll implement it, but deffinitely I'm thinking on considering such things. I have already developed a decay formula so points fade in time softly. I was going to add it this week but had no time (being busy adding the character images), so it will be up next week. The formula is quite simple:

Decayed_Points = Original_Points * ( 1 - (Diff/365)^2 )

Where Diff = Today - Date of the tournament (measured in days)

So basically tournaments disappear completely after 365 days
As said, I'm working now on a formula for the "I defeated (lost to) a noob/I defeated (lost to) a pro" effect. Expect updates regarding this in the next weeks

I dont 2nd DMG, only because the list won't be accurate to begin with, and region will greatly affect ones ability to pass others. It would basically only be ranked off of nationals and it would just screw up the system even more. The current system isn't perfect, but I feel like that system, while isn't arbitrary, just won't add up much better in actual results.

Ally, you can think up your own way of ranking players.

Sandbag's Top 10

1. Ally
2. ADHD
3. Mew2King
4. Shadow
5. ksizzle4Life
6. DEHF
7. Tyrant
8. Dojo
9. Atomsk
10. Anti

Don't know if I can say something like that. AllisBrawl pretty much mutated me.

Zex or SpikerZex; he is from WC. I found his tag several times while checking AiB results. The name is not bolded because I don't know which one does he use here on SWF
