My thoughts:

- The Intro was awesome, but poor Luigi! Really happy to see Simon and very surprised that Richter is also playable.
- Highly expected Chrom and Dark Samus to be echoes.
- Nice highlights on the stages and music.
- Mimikyu deconfirmed.
- Nice to Rathalos from Monster Hunter as an assist trophy.
- Also nice ending to see King K. Rool being announced as a playable character.

Isaac survived to see another day at least. I feel so bad for Ashley fans though, even though I wasn't really supporting her I felt a pang when I saw her.

When I saw Ashley, I had a huge sinking feeling. Even though I'm not a supporter myself, I felt so bad for those who do support her.

I think a lot of fans have been expecting these characters, especially Simon Belmont. I've wanted Simon Belmont as a playable character for years now, and he finally is here. I also wanted Dark Samus, and now that she and Ridley are here, that makes me as a Metroid fan feel spoiled. Nintendo outdid themselves by trolling us viewers with King K. Rool. Although he's playable, the end of that video was great. If anyone noticed, Chrome seems to be a combination of Marth and Ike in terms of moveset. Even his final smash isn't the same as Ike's, but is more akin to Marth's. (By the way, that final smash gauge was what fans had in mind.)

Sakurai noted that Dark Samus is different from Samus, too, so I'll have to wait and see. The new features in SSBU are also fantastic. I really like the new training mode. It seems Sakurai and his team listened to what the fans wanted. The variety of stages, as well as stage morphing and the vast collection of music is also great. Not to mention, I really like that you can use music from a series on any of the stages that are also from that series. Then there's that mysterious option on the menu, which looks fantastic, by the way. Something tells me it's going to be something like Sub-Space Emissary. I hope it is, and I think fans are hoping for that as well.

Plus a few more surprises until then so we are gonna have to suck it up for awhile. 5 new characters is a nice treat so I'm expecting a few more Echo fighters now

I was really pulling for Ashley this time and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't bummed to see her get Assist-Trophied, but the roster is already decided, and I'd rather have her in in some way or form than not at all.
