Now that the new Smash games are gonna be revealed bit-by-bit, I NEED to try to NOT follow any updates.

Exclusive characters sounds off to me, that's not how they described the Wii U x 3DS interplay conceptually at the start. They described it as you customizing and uploading things onto the Wii U version, which is kind of the bigger, "main" version, whereas the 3DS version is the personal one that takes advantage of that personal experience. Stage exclusivity is easy to understand, but character exclusivity? That is a rift between the games, basically anti-interplay.

I think it's more or less the fact that "deconfirmed" isn't a word.

Kinda sucks to be the one who's singled out for using such a "word" when everyone uses it.


So where was that info about exclusives from GoNintendo, I'm still not seeing anything?

Deconfirmed is a word, languages evolve, and it makes sense in the context it's used in, and everyone understands what it means, just like other words.

Apparently, on NeoGAF, some guy named salromano predicted the six characters.

He said they were unlikely predictions.

Apparently, the same guy works at Gematsu and posted this when three of them were revealed.

He stated that he got the tip a while ago but didn't post it before because he couldn't prove it was real. It's possible that after the tip he just decided to predict those characters just because on NeoGAF and decided to post them for real once some were confirmed.




Here are some possibilities that I see.
1. The tip was true and this guy is telling the truth.
2. The tip was only half right and he added the other characters.
3. He lied and got SUPER LUCKY.
4. The tipper lied about half of the characters or there was some sort of miscommunication.


I don't know how to tell if a post had been edited on NeoGAF. Can someone check? If it was edited, then it may be fake.

Regardless, that's all I can find on the rumor. Thoughts?

It's too early to say anything concrete regarding this rumor's veracity, but it has more going for it than some. My money's on either a super lucky guess or inside information and a wholly accurate prediction.

What's this about exclusives? I was reading the GoNintendo post as it was being filled out, and personally I don't remember anything relating to Smash exclusives. Seems unlikely GoNintendo, a third-party reporting site, would remove any information.

The only thing that's been confirmed to be exclusive are some of the stages afaik.


And idc if deconfirmed is a word or not, I'm not going to stop using it.
People know what it means... and if worse comes to worse, I'll just use my English as a second-language defense.

Mii is perhaps to be expected, I suppose, but I just can't believe that they would put the Mii model in game alongside all of these gorgeous new character models and stages. They'd have to be able to do something to make the Mii not look absolutely horrendous, right?

Even if you add those six characters [MM,WFT,VIL,LM,MII,PM], that still leaves plenty of room for the "popular" characters:

Mewtwo
Ridley
King K. Rool
Palutena
Shulk
Takamaru
Roy

That is thirteen right there. Add that to the Brawl roster and you have fourty-eight characters total. Personally I don't see all of those characters getting in, but the point is there is still room for the big guns before we start cutting ourselves with shards of clay.

@Sakurai doesn't want a large roster:

...with Villager and potentially Mii playable after having written them off before (too peaceful anyone), I don't think he is someone that's word should be taken very literally unless specified.

Using words that aren't actually words is fine because the purpose of words are to transmit meaning conveniently. So long as we all know what we are talking about easily, no need to worry about whether it is "real" or not.

A like is not enough. This is one the best things I've seen ever. The Villager... just too good. And the fact someone saw this and thought, "...Taken, Liam Neeson!" Gotta love it.

This was a great E3 for me. Got alot of Nintendo games I am excited for(Mario Kart 8 DKC and more!)

Along with that I finally got to see something on KH3 which hyped me to pluto and back. Plus seeing FFXV was amazing.

Also all the Microsoft bashing from Sony was amazing!!!!!

Plus that smash trailer stoked me so much. I was expecting cut and dry characters getting in such as Ridley and King K Rool to get in, but the announcement of the wii fit trainer Im more excited to see who gets in the game because they can go in any direction(still wishing for Rosalina, Shulk and Krystal)
