Imagine how much unique things Platinum Games could do with Nintendo consoles. These are the same people that made Resident Evil 1 and 2 (and some of them RE4), Devil May Cry 1 and 3 (not 2, lol), Okami, Viewtiful Joe (that poor dead franchise), Bayonetta 1, and a crap ton of other games that I can't name but I wish I could because they are all awesome. Seriously, the Platinum Games crew has made nothing but incredible games.

First Nintendo game: The first Super Mario.
First game: Sonic the Hedgehog.

As a kid I was unaware those two were on a rampage to crush the other one and take all fame and glory for themselves. I grew thinking they would be epic together. They are indeed epic together, but back then, that idea would probably be dismissed as insane for anyone that knew about their fierce rivalry.

Now that I think about it, I had one sick childhood when it comes to gaming. Diablo II endless Diablo and Baal farming with my father and uncle at the age of 4... Then at the age of 6, in Sonic Adventure, ZERO in Amy's stages would make my crap my pants. Sure, devil's incarnate, Lord of Terror and Prime Evil doesn't make me break a sweat but a silly robot in a cartoon universe makes me crap my pants...

i just realized something: The main character of The Wonderful 101 would make a great "WTF?" playable character.
Totally agreed, though I recall hearing somewhere that Platinum enjoyed their independence, and was one of the reasons they formed in the first place. I'd be satisfied if they just became sort of partners with Nintendo and started working on some existing IPs like Starfox and Takamaru's.
Well if Nintendo offered them creative control, I imagine it could work, similar to what Nintendo and Retro Studios and Monolith Soft's relationship is.
I agree, but unfortunately, while four Sonic characters (hopefully those four) is totally fair, in my mind it'd also be a flood... considering we'd probably get at least three new ones at once... and I'm not particularly looking forward to if we ever did get another Sonic character (though I'd take Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman over Shadow any day). But others would like it, and they'd be Nintendo characters, so hopefully should that ever happen, we'd also get some non-Sonic Sega characters to balance things out. And not just AiAi or Amigo or something. :p
Well what we are talking about is let's say this happens in the next 3 years, we'll have like 6 SEGA-related newcomers, and maybe like 3 more newcomers, assuming we don't get any cuts for Smash 6. I don't know about you guys, but with the quality of the newcomer additions down once we get the likes of K. Rool and Ridley, I am fine with just about anything that will add originality.

Plus, the idea of a SoA, Nights, Monkey Ball, and Jet Set Radio character excites me in the way that very few potential Nintendo-owned newcomers will after we get Smash WiiU and Smash 3DS. Plus, new blood that adds some originality is always exciting.

I mean, if say we keep the 29 unconfirmed Brawl characters, get back Mewtwo, and say get Ridley, K. Rool, Pac-Man, Dixie Kong, Little Mac, Takamaru, Shulk, and Mii's (giving us 51 total playable characters), how many high quality potential newcomers do we have left that weren't in Smash WiiU and 3DS=???

Maybe Roy, maybe a few Assist trophy characters (Starfy, Saki, Isaac, something Advance Wars, and Samurai Goroh), a few minor franchise characters (Paper Mario, Excite Biker, Mach Rider, the Sheriff, Bubbles, the Balloon Fighter), and a few supporting characters (Toad, Bowser Jr., Paper Mario, a few new Pokémon), but not many are exciting or will excite any fan base anytime soon unless they are done to perfection.

Heck, that is probably why 3rd party characters were added in the first place.

I'm glad that villager is in the game since he takes out that "can't fight" and throws it out the window

seriously, that and the size arguments are the worst arguments

1. Captain Falcon disproves they doesn't have much to fight already, despite the fact toad can use every power up mario can, and can use his abilities in SMB2

2. Toad is very popular in japan (I'll have to ask chrono but I remember someone saying that), and is fourth I believe in mario characters in shorty's pole
I agree on the 2nd point and part of the 1st, but Captain Falcon being used in the argument doesn't really make sense, he has a superhero esque name and appearance and is muscular, all they had to do was give him a bunch of physical fighting moves and add some fiery power to it.

Toad on the other hand, is clearly a weak character physically, and they can't just give him every single power-up from Mario platformers.

Lucario fanbase will forever and always take the cake of most annoying fanbase.
The Pit fanbase is far worse.

But Olimar and the Pikmin are too small to be in Brawl, Smash WiiU, and Smash 3DS, hence why he's not playable! :troll:

Smash and Mario Kart 8 are just the beginning of 2014 for Nintendo. I wouldn't rule out a new Metroid, Star Fox, or Animal Crossing WiiU for next year, either.
Or Miyamoto's new game. (I hope it isn't another Wii Music type game) That would suck ****.
But that issue is about gone given the new titles coming out for the WiiU, especially the WiiU exclusives, starting with Pikmin 3, which is already out everywhere but the Americas for whatever God forsaken stupid reason.
It's more of a wasted opportunity, than an issue. They released a year earlier to hopefully get the leg up on the competition with an established fan base. But that approach in a way backfired on them, when people opted to wait for more games. Though I will say, If the Wii U released around this time, it would of had a sick line up better than it's competition (ZombiU could of been better given the extra time).; but it would also be challenge competing with both PS4 and XB1. Yeah the wait for Pikmin 3 is unbearable for me.
Bayonetta 2 is 100% a second party release, whereas the 3 Sonic games I think are still owned by SEGA, but I imagine SEGA signed a deal to only re-release them on Nintendo consoles (unless Nintendo stops making consolesof course). And yeah, games like Tomb Raider, GTA V, MGS V (or anything MGS), Borderlands, and Street Fighter/Capcom fighting game related would be great. Heck, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the WiiU was great. I imagine with Namco Bandai's WiiU experiences that we can expect future Soul Calibur and Tekken games on the WiiU.
Well in order for a game to be 2nd it must be:
  1. Independently-owned studios who take development contracts from the platform holders and what they produce will usually be exclusive to that platform.
  2. A studio who are partially or wholly owned by the platform holder (also known as a subsidiary) and what they produce will usually be exclusive to that platform.
Seeing how Nintendo is helping out with Lost World and owns the rights to the Mario Characters in Mario and Sonic Olympic games 2 of those 3 games are 2nd party since Nintendo is involved to some degree.
GTA V, Street Fighter 4: Ultra would be amazing! Also MGS V not coming to the Wii U is the reason why I don't think Snake deserves to come back to Smash4.

Toad still has more to take from his game then CF, who just drove around in a car, or fox who just piloted an arwing, or villager, who is peaceful by nature

just go to the toad thread

Lol that's not true, even Sonic fanboys hate some Sonic characters/games.
Let a fanboy like me tell you that.
In my eyes, that doesn't help honestly.
Usually when a sonic fanboy hates a sonic game, which is A LOT of the time, they constantly ***** about it and become over nostalgic
e.x: the days when they complained nonstop about sonic's eyes being green, of all things. They either over-praise him, or there's nothing that pleases them, there's rarely ever a gray area.

I wouldn't so much say CF has no fighting history.
Before Smash existed, there was a comic based on F-Zero back in the SNES days, which featured him getting into fist fights.

Which only makes me question why he has no projectile in Smash, seeing as he's always carrying a gun.

Well not everyone. '06 sucks, Generations rocks. For example.

To be fair, that's only because Nintendo doesn't do much with F-Zero.
Same thing could be said about Earthbound and Starfox.
I actually considered buying Starfox 64 on the virtual console, but I haven't as of yet.

All 3 of those series need a new game, ASAP. F-Zero may be coming to an end though, unfortunately.

I'm not sure about when a new Metroid game will turn up, but at least Metroid has a new game within the last few years, Starfox 3D doesn't count as a new Starfox game.

It's more about the gameplay then it is the number of games, f-zero is a racing game, and starfox pre-smash was a rail shooter (right?) in vehicles (now I've got no clue what it is)

mario was a platformer, which is why toad has been shown different abilities (even in wario woods he could be seen throwing bombs)

I don't come across many Homestuck fans.
But normally when I do, th3y @lw@yz t7p3 l1k3 th15 4 5um r3@50N. Not really annoying, just ********.
I deal with an absurd number of them on my campus and the Anime Club here might as well be called Spaghetti Anonymous because of them. Bronies can be really annoying too but at least they produce cool music and fanmade animations. The Kingdom Hearts fanbase is pretty insufferable too if only because they insist that absolutely everybody in the series from Winnie the Pooh to Tron is secretly gay for each other.
