Wow. Sakurai. I thought it was a new Kirby's Airride game. Or a Mario Kart and Kirby crossover. No. It's ****ing Rosalina. Who else thought she would be in the game? I was going to say she might be revealed at some point but didn't think she'd actually be in Smash 4.

Hah, knew that Pic of the Day was employed for a reveal or something. Wished Sakurai had more time to talk about the new features of Smash 4, but this is satisfying enough.

I honestly would have much rather had Kirby Air Ride 2, nothing, not even a Ridley or Anna reveal, would beat my hype for that game.

I thought we wouldn't see any newcomers until E3 2014. But yet again, Sakurai employs his unpredictability. Interesting choice for a 5th Mario rep though. I like how Rosalina (& Luma) are actually becoming more embellished characters through the Mario games we have and not just reduced to filler.

Does anyone know what Iwata said after the reveal trailer? Thought it was something about Sakurai wanting to talk about his game, but it got buffered.

I pretty much had the same thoughts until after a while where I knew the crossover was implying something. Mario Galaxy 3? Kirby in Mario Kart 8? A Kirby course in Mario Kart 8? Kirby as a hazard in Mario Kart 8? Kirby Air Ride 2 (how awesome would that be)?

Curiously, you can the see Link's Loftwing in one of Rosalina's pictures.

Another interesting detail I found is that her attacks make the cursor that appears when you point the Wii Remote at the screen from Super Mario Galaxy appears.

Her recovery move seems to be those star launchers.

Anyway, she looks like a very interesting character to play as, much like all newcomer characters.
