So basically Sheik in SSB4 should be Impa but renamed "Sheik" just to get people into thinking that Sheik wasn't cut?

So, I guess if Sakurai kept Ness's model but renamed him "Ninten", did Sakurai really cut Ness? I mean, they look very similar already.

Or maybe even keep Marth's model but renamed him "Lucina", did Sakurai really cut Marth? Marth and Lucina are pretty much gender swaps of each other.
*insert facepalm of choice*

Pay attention to what I'm saying. Never once did I suggest that Impa should replace Sheik (which I'm strongly against) but change her name to Sheik. I said to give Sheik a redesign inspired by Skyward Sword.

For some reason, I'd imagine Murasame Castle being quite the eye catcher when properly done right. Like, something reminiscent of the scenery porn found in Okami.
I was thinking along the lines of like how eye catching Luigi's Mansion was. Te lighting and design really meshed well to give it a spooky/gloomy look. Personal favorite of Brawl. I could see characterization through light and textures working for a Murasame Castle level. The dark edgey "Rooftop" stage Ryu has in SFII kind of was the tone I was thinking. But I've never player Takamaru's game, so.

@Oasis, I guess maybe in the far distance? I just don't want THE SPACE FIGHT / GENERAL BACKGROUND be the shining aspect of the stage. Also, that's how I feel about Krystal too. Besides just generally liking her

"This character has been strangely requested worldwide for quite some time. I guess the legend of the Monkey King is that famous. The original Yūyūki title for Famicon was only a text-based adventure game, so Goku's techniques are based off of the original Chinese legend of Sun Wukong. As such, this little guy is quite comparable to a deity, wouldn't you say?"

And then for added measure, make one of his alternate colorings be the orange and blue Dragon Ball's Goku wears. :troll:
Huge Dragonball fan here, and I would absolutely love that. Especially with the DB alt costumes.

@Star
Dragonball is based off an old Chinese folk tale about a Monkey who travels collecting legendary artifacts. It's called A Journey to the West, and it's a good read.

When I first learned of Journey to the West, I was amazed at the sudden realization of how influential it has been. References to it everywhere.

Roster, rike or no rike?

Almost... almost perfect. 8.5/10

Pros:
1. F*** yeah, Ridley, Ganondorf, Black Shadow, Dark Pit, Mewtwo and Roy on the same roster!
2. Also has Palutena, K. Rool, Little Mac and all FE and Pokémon veterans.

Cons:
1. Where's Sheik? You could have not removed a veteran at all (barring Snake and Sonic for obvious reasons), yet you do.
2. I think other FE characters could be more interesting than Lucina, especially when you have Marth. Anna, Lyn, the Avatar (AKA Robin) or even another character not from FE are all more interesting choices than her.

Conclusion: replace Lucina with someone else and add Sheik and it's a perfect roster, but this one is already quite good.

It's Diddy's roster, after all. Absence of Sheik and presence of Impa is a hallmark of his roster. :troll:

Likewise, I never imagined that my childhood show was so cultural.

I made another roster...
Frostwraith Second SSB4 Roster.png

...and I think I went a little overboard.

Anyway, this roster has a mixture of expected characters, popular characters around here and some personal choices. Comments are welcome.

Also, Robin (the Avatar) could be female. I used male Robin, but the idea would be choosing between male and female as costumes.

EDIT: The roster has been updated.

Speaking of REFERENCES, Mach Rider is totally inspired by Mad Max, thus I think Mel Gibson would really bring a lot to the roster. Way better than that Sylvester Stallone guy.

I like Lucina though, I hate how people of think her as Marth clone, she is more popular and interesting than Chrom. She's the #1 favorite character in polls.

I think that between Lucina, Chrom and the Avatar, the Avatar is more interesting than the other two, since, besides a sword, he/she can also use magic tomes.

Also in a poll with all FE lords she tied first with the Ike, I might be overdoing it right now, BUT she also pretty much takes over the 2nd half of the game, reminds me of Ike from RD you did good stealing the spotlight from Micaiah

Who're Tempo and Prince Sable?

Also, @FireEmblemnier, unfortunately I don't think it's that peeps think of her as a Marth clone so much as that Sakuria probably would... :(
There wasn't really any reason for him to make Lucas, Wolf or Toon Link as similar as he did to their counterparts, but he did anyway. I'd say Lucina's moveset would sadly take from Marth's a fair bit, more'n likely

I'm 100% OK with this roster. All of my must-haves are crying out for the justice that would be this. (Can we throw Dillon in there too though? His aesthetic and westerny charms are swaying me lately.)

Other than that, YES! Let's have this one be real, please? (Although I will be severely disappointed by the lack of Mega Man. I always sort of forgot about Snake/Sonic's presence anyway. (As much as I am a big MGS fan...)

1.5 months until we get a Smash 4 unveil.
1.5 years until Smash 4 is released.

Its strange to say we already have been waiting for nearly 5.5 years for Smash 4 stuff, so another 1.5 years is not much if you think about it.

I'm just eagerly anticipating Japan Time once again.
Sakurai is too. *laughs :troll:

Seriously, the Dojo was among my most pleasant memories for pre-Brawl.

I will be honest the day Samurai Goroh popped up on the Dojo (it was the day in which Assist Trophies were confirmed) at first I thought it was a character confirmation, but then I noticed the item icon in the corner for the update and I was like "what".

I did a double-take when Ike was confirmed. It was so exciting to finally have a newcomer confirmed in over a year's time.

The interesting thing about the time from Ike's confirmation to the date of Brawl's Japanese release, is that it was practically a six month period.

I am hoping we get the Dojo up earlier this time even if it means more "duh" or "stupid" updates. I am looking forward to seeing to even old time veterans being confirmed.

However, its important to note that Sakurai wrote all the updates himself. So him doing updates for two games this time may be too much to ask of him.

Even still, I really hope we get the Dojo much earlier this time. How great it would be if we had the Dojo start after the Smash 4 unveil, and then get weekday updates until the release? I don't care if we get more filler, at we would get a ton of screenshots and discussion out of it.

The day that the DOJO opens up will also be the day that the fanboy tears will once again commence. Boring them to death with pointless updates and crushing their hopes and dreams with a giant sledge hammer.

I'm really looking forward to a new Dojo. I wasn't really very internet savvy during the buildup to Brawls release, so I got most of the updates via word of mouth. It'll be fun to actually experience them myself.

Thanks man!

Actually I've been thinking of swapping Black Shadow or Dark Pit for Dillon. ;) They where just placeholders that happened to fit well in their spot. I have no reason to support both besides wanting Brawl Ganondorf's spirtual replacement in Black Shadow, and Dark Pit being posted regulary by Sakurai in Smash-related Tweets. Thinking he'd be a good semi-cloned addition.

Pokemon Trainer was another big update and surprise that made fans happy. Also online and custom stages brought a lot of joy although both ended up being a dissappointment from what was originally expected.

Fascinating.... I might have to go stalk Sakurai's Twitter again, and then possibly start adding Dark Pit to my rosters...

Just six weeks until Smash 4 is unveiled.

I wonder when we will start getting the pre-unveil hype deluge of new posters.

Can't wait for all the "leaks."

Also am I the only one who thinks it's kinda disturbing that a lot of people here are looking forward to all the broken heart tears from fans? That's not to say they didn't have it coming, but in general, like is there any real difference between the tears of a character deemed likely to get in vs a character who's not been deemed anything? Honestly we all going to be disappointed with the game in one way or another, so it's one of those put yourself in someone else's shoes kinda moments.

This. Character deconfirmation will especially hit hard this time because we're in a situation where nearly every character's last shot to get in this game. Meaning that if characters like King K. Rool, Ridley and/or Mega Man were to miss out, it's safe to say that they won't ever get in.

I'm so going to be new on this scene though because like I said, was in Africa all the time, going to internet cafes only to see updates, and thus missed all the craziness in this boards. But I'm so dreading it...

Yet again, I'm saying we need the backroom back.

...

Great, I think I've been infected by ClessAlveinitis.

Also I think I'd be feeling more than happy to just say "What were you saying back then again?" if any of the underdogs I support got in despite how many people were kinda "against" them or said they're either too obscure and other stuff in GameFAQs. (Especially Lip's... I'd go water her flowers with all of the tears the opposers are going to shed.)

But man, I feel pretty much anxious, low-to-bottom on hype and somewhat pessimistic most of the time. I dunno what to expect (or don't have anything to expect), and I'm kinda afraid I might disappoint myself more than like the reveals. I mean, I have more than enough "underdogs" to support but if not any of them get in, it might testament SSB as popular-well-known-characters only (aside from couple retros).

But hey, that's the drawback... I would better jump on more realistic and popular choices but since those are so likely-seeming, I'm trying to dig out some that I'd like to see getting some great limelight.

And I'll be right behind you guys. A lot of you support Ridley so I'm going to be more than enjoying beliefs being broken. And we'll welcome the ruthless purple dragon.

Man, can't believe E3 is coming closer. I've been waiting for SSB4 since '91.

Can't wait for all the "leaks."

You're not the only one. People building their own happiness from other people's misery, I find it sickening, even something small like this. Ah...you don't know how much it saddens me when people say things like this. I mean, I know it's just a video game and I'm not taking it that seriously. I'm especially not taking speculation and all this **** seriously. However, I was a bit disappointed with Melee, and Brawl too. But did that stop me from liking those games? If SSB4 disappoints me somehow (which, like you've said, we are all going to be disappointed one way or another), then so be it. I'm still going to enjoy the game in the end. And even if I end up not liking the game from some reason, I'll force myself to find a way to enjoy it. Because Super Smash Bros. is my fave video game series of all time, and it's not going to stop at number 4.

Even from stupid fans, or people that really deserve it, I just can't bring myself to enjoy those tears. Uh, I don't even know how to explain myself...
