Don't know why I just noticed this but every time John aims his gun at Toad and Junior, he becomes public enemy number 1 all of a sudden while others like Hoots get the free pass. Oh, such the life of the knight!

Lol. I feel bad for him.

It's because I don't see Toad as really anything special in terms of being playable. Bowser Jr. has some obvious unique qualities, but eh, there's several better options.

To be honest, it's hard to feel bad for him when his reasons are really poor for Toad. None of those really make sense. He knows Toad is a major Mario character. Some other guy not in the game can do it too? Really? Come on, let's be realistic, that's just lame.

I don't want CHARACTERS WITH GENERIC AND UNINSPIRED MOVESETS, PLAYSTYLES, AND SKILLSETS, I want CHARACTERS WITH UNIQUE AND INSPIRED MOVESETS, PLAYSTYLES, AND SKILLSETS!!!

Honestly, GAMEPLAY is ALL I CARE ABOUT!!! Screw popularity, screw relevance, screw any of that. I'd rather play as a giant piece of crap that is fun to play as than a boring and generic version of the most popular video game characters ever.

@Johnknight1: Sounds like a lot of irrational crap that I can't take seriously. Uniqueness is fine as long that particular character is unique as they can be. Never cared if they have a generic attack as long as it fits and the character is fun to play.

Taking gameplay that seriously would've ruined it. I'm glad Sakurai went the way he did, since each game has been tons of fun, despite all the clones. I can honestly say each game was excellent in their own right, and every game had its flaws too. Nothing was perfect, but nothing was just plain terrible.(had moments, but most are nitpicky with a very tiny slew of exceptions, and even then, they're tolerable.) Other than tripping, there were really no horrible mechanics in SSB.
