So you're making a story? Cool. Should I do the same thing? (I kind of want to)

You can if you'd like, it's a fun way to push your creativity. I always look at the severe dark side of "the challenge" in mine after an interesting incident I had in another challenge, it'll probably be referenced as cool backstory in mine.

If I had hands that liked to draw, I'd make a comic for sure. However, my hands do not like to cooperate when I attempt anything artistic.

So I guess I'll start my "written journey" now. It'll reference events in my game (New Pokemon, badges, DEATH - that stuff). Lets'a'go!

Creative music!

Truth be told... the only reason I bought LeafGreen over FireRed is because Meowth is exclusive in that version. I refused to let it evolve into Persian because it is Meowth. Granted, I caught a second Meowth just so I could evolve it and add Persian to my Pokedex.

This is one of the best Nuzlock comics i've seen on dA
That is the first nuzlocke comic ever from the guy who freakin' CREATED it so yeah it's good XD
Side Note: I beat the 2nd gym leader with little trouble whatsoever (I mean, that whirlipede stalled by using protect but it's all good) And this is THE best rock song ever!

Prologue - The Red legend

My story key:
* - nondialogue event

*The news came on*
*It talked about a ginormous red Pokemon in the middle of a lake just north of my town*
"Sartigy, come here!", my Mother yelled from her T.v downstairs.
"Paul wants you to go to the Lake, you should meet him at his house first."
"Okay mom - I'll be back before dinner!", I yelled running out the door, barely managing to put on my backpack before leaving.

It was a cold August morning. Dew on the grass was glistening in the young sun's rays of light. Good thing I had my jacket on before I left.
*knock-knock* I stood in-front of Paul's house door. Strange, all the houses around here seem to look the same. He answered the door.

"You ready, Sartigy?" Paul asked with his usual childlike grin.
" I bet readier than you are - lets go."

We left the town with the swiftness only childhood could harness. Curiosity being our fuel - adventure being the reward.
Little did we know, up ahead would change us forever.

*To be continued* (After I exercise)

But Sartigy's been living there for at least 10 years, right?

So he's still not used to the uniformity and nondescriptness of his neighborhood, hm? Odd.
No, he's familiar with his town. Its just one of the things people never seem to notice. Don't YOU just notice things after years of NOT noticing them?

I'll admit, Petty's made me cry at some parts. It was really well written and you felt a genuine sense of loss when some of the Pokemon died. Hale's is just plain epic and Freddy's is hilarious largely because it shoves a sharp stick in the eye of Nuzlocke runs that are told like complete and total sob stories.

Nuzlocking is a very tough challenge, even when only using the basic and required rules. Not sure if I'll ever try it.

Probably the craziest thing I've done in a video game (other than online Brawl or MKW) is doing the one part of the last normal level in Kirby's Return to Dreamland where you massacre the mini-bosses with the Ultra Sword, without the Ultra Sword. It's quiet hard, but nothing like trying the Nuzlocke.

I think I may one day try beating the Titan Dweevil in Pikmin 2 with only Purple Pikmin.

It pains me in most of these nuzlocks when one of the pokemon dies, I'm not into the sap stories either but you really feel for the player when all of their effort is thrown away, it really adds to the suspense.
This one is pretty good not as epic as Freddy's though:

It really depends on the Pokemon games. Based on my own experience, Fire Red/Leaf Green is fairly easy because the game makes it incredibly easy to grind, Red/Blue/Yellow have a decent number of exploitable factors that dumb down its difficulty including the awe inspiring ******** computer AI, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald have great Pokemon selections and are probably the most satisfying for Nuzlockes, Heart Gold/Soul Silver aren't too bad, and Diamond/Pearl/Platinum definitely have the highest challenge because grinding is a pain. I follow a number of extra rules when I play to bump up the difficulty:

1. Except for required HMs, Pokemon cannot be taught moves until you reach the Elite Four.I call this the "Natural Talents" rule.

2. Once you enter a place/route/gym, you are not allowed to leave until you've defeated every single trainer in the area. I call this the "Burn Your Ships" rule.

3. Legendaries are not allowed and you're only allowed one event Pokemon aside from your starter. (Meaning you can't have Snorlax and Eevee on your team, for example.)

4. All your pokemon have to be different types, no repeats even if they share the same secondary type.

5. During rival/gym leader/Elite Four battles, you have to use the same amount of Pokemon your opponent uses. If your opponent uses 6 Pokemon, for example, all 6 of your Pokemon have to participate in the fight to some degree. I call this the "Bitter Rivalry" rule and I usually designate certain Pokemon on my team to those on my rival's team.

6. An inconsequential rule I always set for myself is that half my team has to be male and the other half has to be female. If I have a genderless pokemon, I can only have one.

Ky-nim's and Petty's are really good, in my opinion.

Man, though...Petty's...

[Collapse=Petty Nuzlocke Spoilers]Rick's death made me feel like crying, not gonna lie...and then it got even sadder in the Epilogue...[/Collapse]

I'm new to Nuzlocking, so this may or may not be a rule already but-

One rather hardcore rule I came up with is that once you see a Pokemon type, that's your only chance to capture it. No Pokeballs or fail to capture it, and you'll never get another chance.

However, if you encounter an evolved or lower evolution of that type later on, you are allowed to try and catch it.

I'm assuming that rule would not apply to pokemon other then the first in a route. But I could go for that rule. It expands upon the no catching the same pokemon twice rule.

That Nuzlocke challenge sounds fun, kinda reminds me of the Three Heart challenge in the Zelda games which I also never done. I might just do that once I get my hands on A Link Between Worlds just to throw myself a quick challenge into the game. :p

I might do a Nuzlocke run in one of the pokemon games as well one day.

I know that this will cause a lot of Nuzlockers to give me the finger but I like playing with the doubles rule (if the first Pokemon you run into on a route is one you already own, Nuzlocke rules don't apply until you run into one you don't own). I like the diversity it promotes and, in my opinion, it makes the runs a lot more interesting.

I'm actually running that rule, but I'm restricting it by only letting my self one more try if I run into one I already own.

I started using the doubles rule because, swear to god, on one of my trial runs with Fire Red I ran into pidgey as the first pokemon for 5 ROUTES IN A ROW.
I recall a nuzlocke run where the doubles rule screwed me over and I couldn't find a pokemon to use fly for me XD

Note to self: Always use the doubles rule, no matter what.

This post reminds me of how Geodude is practically everywhere in Pearl.

EVERYWHERE.

Wuss! :p

Nah just kidding, I had something like that happen once, it was insane though I agree. Still deal with whoever I get stuck with though regardless of how many the same I'm stuck with.
