I think aside from Pikachu, Voltorb is the only relatively-early Electric type you can get, but that's after Cerulean City, Diddy.

Yeah voltorb is the earliest you get, and even then there's only a 40% chance of it appearing, which means it is the most likely pokemon to appear but don't be too surprised if you get a freaking spearow or an ekans instead

Any Electric type I could encounter soon after Pewter City? What are my best possible catches? Team right now is Bulbasaur, Mankey and Metapod.

Nope. Depending on the version you're playing, your next best bet is voltorb or magnemite outside of Rock Tunnel. Voltorb and magnemite are both garbage in red/blue but got a few buffs in fire red/leaf green. Also, if you want to make the run significantly easier, get a gyarados because it wrecks everything and is pretty easy to get.

Yeah, I plan on getting a Gyarados. But I probably won't get one by buying that one Magikarp by that one Old Guy in the Pokémon Centre before Mt.Moon. All he can do is Splash, and it takes at least 15 levels to make it evolve right?

Choosing between Eevee and Dratini is gonna be hard though.

I may be late but Sakurai believes if someone made a Smash Bros. type game it wouldn't be as successful because "they'd lack my strong personal criteria."

Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion, PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up? I totally agree.

Super Smash Flash 2 and Super Smash Bros. Crusade? I totally DISagree.

I always go with the Mareep line when looking for an electric type. in HG, I messed around with Electrode here and there but Amphy is the go-to choice for me.
Can't wait to see what it's movepool is like in X/Y in addition to what his mega form brings to the meta game

"Did you two take from my briefcase?", the old man asked. "Y-yes we did, but we needed to protect ourselves from the Starly!" Paul answered. Guilt was in both our faces. "Well, thank you for telling the truth, young man. I am Professor Rowan. I left the briefcase with the Pokemon inside here because there was something I needed to attend to back at my lab." "Come with me, you two."

Not a long time later, we reached the Professor's lab in the next town over, Sandgem Town. I had only seen the outside of the building, but I'd never imagine it would be this big on the inside!

"Now, I must ask the both of you to release your Pokemon from their Pokeballs, please." We did so with haste. I took the small ball from my belt and pressed the center, making it grow to about the width of my hand. Paul and I threw our balls in the air, thus releasing the creatures that were inside. "Well now! You two made some interesting choices!" the Professor remarked. "Dawn, please give these two a Pokedex and some Pokeballs." The girl walked back to the Professor's briefcase then withdrew two handheld-devices and ten Pokeballs. She walked back over to us and gave us the Pokedex, giving both us 5 Pokeballs. I could have sworn she gave me "look" as she walked back to the Professor's side.

I opened the device, and it instantaneously scanned the Pokemon infront of me. "Chimchar." it announced. Paul's Pokedex did the same, and read "Piplup."

"It appears you two are ready- oh wait! I completely forgot." the Professor sobered up... "Now, do either of you have a goal?"

I must have looked stunned, I hadn't even dreamed of doing anything WITH Pokemon. Suddenly, Paul spoke up, "Well, I suppose maybe one I could be a Pokemon Master?" "HA HA HA! Very good, now how about you, boy?" After a moment, I nodded and answered "I want to be THE Pokemon Master."
"Alright, in addition to that, I want to see your Pokedex filled to the brim with all sorts of Pokemon. Good luck you two."

Summoning our Pokemon back into their Pokeballs, we started for the door. "One second, you two never told me your names." Paul and I looked at each, and answered "I'm Sartigy." and "I'm Paul!" "Well Sartigy and Paul, good luck to you both!"

And just like that, our lives were changed forever. The sun was coming up over the horizon. The first day was coming upon us.

Thusfar, Bulbasaur proofs to be an excellent choice. Can't complain about my PurpleHaze!

Will evolve in 1 level, then, I might post some more Smash related stuff.

So, here's a little preview of my Nuzlocke, it needs a little bit of editing to spice it up a tad more, but I thought ya'll might like it, especially Demna.

I sit in my room, looking at the day ahead. I'm taking the challenge again.

It's easy to get suited up and ready to rumble, this isn't my first rodeo and I know the basics of what is to come for my day. First they'll ask me my name, “Capps”. I can see the look on their faces, they know why I'm here. Then they find some rival for me. It's not the first time I've had to but heads with an ignorant newbie before, and I doubt my time with Gary will be anything special compared to the past.

I have to walk by my mother as I always do. I hate the look in her eyes as I pass.

“Capps... Do you really have to do this again?”

I look away, I don't have an answer. Sometimes the primal urges of man cannot be explained.

“It's not the same as the others Capps, you don't get to pick one of three, some innocent creature is FORCED to partner with...”

I cut her off “Don't you think I know that? I wanted something new, something with a greater edge then before.”

She looks at me like she doesn't know her own son. Sometimes, I wonder if she does.

I leave right after that, I hear small noises from the house like someone is crying, I try to block it out of my head.

If you've never taken the challenge, it would be hard for you to understand the thrill. I go out to the tall grass outside of town knowing this is where my adventure would begin. I look into my future and see my past. You never forget what it looks life to see life leave their eyes. You never forget the noble sacrifice one makes to save a friend, only to have that friend fall later making that sacrifice useless. You hold life and death in your hands, and the family you create around you loves and trusts you with 'the every beat of their heart, knowing that one false move on your part could send them to their end.

For a moment I internally flinch. How can I continue to get this thrill at the expense of these Pokemon? Maybe mom is right, maybe something IS wrong with me.

But I know I wont quit, I CAN'T quit on my own, I've found an addicting drug that no amount of rehab can get me off. In a reckless moment of passion I run into the tall grass, almost hoping that some Pokemon will end it all before I can even begin to finally stop the reckless cycle. I can't stop living on the edge.

A Pikachu! One jolt would be it! I prepare for the finality I had delt so many Pokemon before me, wanting to know what they felt, what I FORCED them to feel, but then the Pokeball flies by.

“Capps, do not be a coward. I never knew you to be a coward in our previous meetings.”

“Oak...”

“You have agreed to take the challenge, now you must see it through.” He tosses me the Pokeball. “There, you have your first Pokemon.”

It pops out of it's Pokeball. I stand there startled.

“Looks like this Pokemon doesn't like it's Pokeball! How will you handle it Capps? Following you around, you can't just hide it away. It will always be there.”

I look down at it, I can see the distrust in its eyes. It knows what I am doing, and it hates me for it, hates me for taking away its freedom and putting its life into my hands.

“Professor, why did you never take the challenge again?”

He stills, I know I got to him. After his first quest he had become a scientist never to take the challenge again. I always had thought him scared but his response surprised me.

“Because I knew if I continued, I could never break the cycle. Now come along, we have to have you fight that rival of yours. You know the drill.”

He walks away towards his lab and I look down at my Pikachu hoping somehow we'll be friends.

“You need the name, a name of a friend... Demna. That will be your name. Now come along my friend, the first of many battles is about to begin.”

I just got from back from buying the used copy of pokemon silver I was talking about.

It's strange. The character has MY name, and all the pokemon are named things like "I'm sorry", "Regret", etc.

I swear the sprites look different as well.

When I tried to start a new game, the character STILL has my name
