Well then get better at the game where you don't get killed by Link. Even in Melee Link isn't very useful; his offense is very limited, and if you space it right, you should win... unless you use a really bad character!

Project M is proof that Sky Uppercut needs to be his up Smash.

Oh, and DAT SPIRIT BOMB and new down B are awesome. The side B is a major improvement as well.

Lucario's side B in project M is the only way to spike someone in the most awesome way!

I get where he's coming from as a developer but, as I stated in another thread, the man is just expressing his ideals. Of course, the fanbase would crucify him if SSB4 ended up with less characters than Melee, let alone Brawl and he openly acknowledges this. In his mind, the perfect Smash game would be 20 perfectly balanced characters but he knows that this would only please the most dedicated competitive players who genuinely care.

No, us competitive players wouldn't like it. I know this might sound unconventional, but competitive balance isn't that important to competitive players. If the game is fun, engaging, and punishes/rewards players properly, players will get over it.

After all if we get 50 characters with crappy balance, we can be fixed via official patches and/or fan-made mods.

Heck, in Brawl, we had a game that wasn't popular in terms of balance or gameplay, so it was blown up into Project M!

I think a lot of characters in Project M are great. I love what was done with Wario, Ivysaur, Charizard, and Lucario.

Yeah, all of the Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon, Lucario, and Wario were all done great. Wario's moveset is proof that Sakurai failed big time when he made Wario Ware the basis of Wario's moveset instead of Wario Land. Not to say that Wario shouldn't have some Wario Ware moves; but that Wario Land has the best moves. After all, platformers > party games in terms of attacks (generally).

It's funny you say this because I pretty much say this exact same thing in another post. I believe my words were something along the lines of "most competitive players are satisfied as long as there are at least 10 competitively viable characters in a game" and "most Smash fans care more about what characters get in rather than how good they are competitively."

Well what I am essentially say is that THE GAMEPLAY needs to be good first, and then players need characters to be enjoyable for them to play to where they keep coming back for more every year.

And yeah, being competitive viable can be fixed via patches (official or unofficial) these days, so that isn't really a (long-term) issue anymore.

Seriously, Luigi just seems tailor-made to be a BEAST IN THE AIR with combos, hard khits and whatnot,, and he has all the moves to do it.

Still, IMO I would like him to have a new back air... maybe... *shrugs*
