Chrom is pretty much going to be the last minute clone edition that will get dumped aside for the next batch of games due to being so lame. Can we get something else that is not lame?

I will take a cloned Roy at this point over Chrom. At the very least we could get a sword user who isn't as generically boring as Chrom.

Chrom is a character I either see being on the roster or not, not a character that could possibly become victim to time constraints. If Sakurai does not see Chrom bringing anything different to Smash Bros. than we have seen, he will pass on Chrom. Merely "what about FE13" is not enough I am afraid. I think if Sakurai wants to rep FE13 that we may end up with the My Unit, and having Marth and Ike in Lucina and Chrom inspired outfits (Marth's already has this).

These are the scenarios I see happening with Smash Bros 4 in relation to FE characters:

I will make very detailed explanations as to why these are the most probable scenarios down the line, but there are very good reasons why I think this.

Maybe it used to, but Pokemon discussions are pretty tame nowadays, imo. The general consensus is that Jiggs, Lucario, Mewtwo, and Pkmn trainer are most likely, behind only Pikachu.

This is what will happen when various Fire Emblem and Pokémon fanbases/hatebases favorite/hated characters are confirmed/deconfirmed...

The problem with that is while Ike looks discernibly older in his FE10 incarnation, his FE10 outfit is similar to Chrom's outfit (particularly the whole one whole bare arm thing)

Secondly, the whole "he can be middle of the road" is incredibly lame. We already have a few middle of the road swordsmen in Smash Bros, and will we probably get one of Isaac or Shulk whom also likely to be "middle of the road" swordsmen and also at least have unique abilities to go with themselves. Aesthetically and ability wise, Chrom is a very sterile addition.

While I think the two outfits are varied enough in color scheme and appearance, what about Ike's Awakening outfit?

While the idea might sound incredibly lame on paper, it all comes down to how that is executed in the game.
Adding Sonic as a high speed fighter in Smash sounded like a good idea, but was executed poorly.

I will also add that moves like Eruption really don't suit Chrom, so Chrom could make use of weapons that Ike couldn't in the FE games.
Javelin Throw is a pretty decent special move that Chrom could posses in is arsenal.

The discussions always turn into arguments.

And they never end well.

The best thing about not being a fan of Fire Emblem series is that I don't care who gets in and who gets cut... I am neutral... therefore I am immune to the inevitable butthurtitis epidemic when we finally see which Fire Emblem characters are in the complete SSB4 roster.

I am really glad Sakurai confirmed Olimar so early on for this reason, so as we would not have had to dealt with the deluge "durr hurr Olimar is gonna get cut cuz heez not relvunt."

The only thing that would make me butthurt about FE characters is if Sakurai SPECIFICALLY states that he chose Roy/Robin over Chrome/Lucina/Lyn/Ephraim/Ike

How is Mario higher than Star Fox. There is a ton of idiots running around saying either Falco or Wolf will be cut, while very few people expect Peach to be cut. Also, Zelda is a very obvious character choice as well.

I figured Mario is higher than Star Fox since there are more characters to choose for the coveted fifth Mario slot... Dr. Mario, Toad, Paper Mario, Waluigi, Bowser Jr., and Geno.... whereas Star Fox is just Falco, Wolf, and Krystal trying to get their paws on the second and third Star Fox slots.

Oh, and in Zelda's case... poor Toon Link has to fight off Impa, Tingle, Toon Zelda, Ghirahim, Classic Link, and possibly Masked Link (if Majora's Mask 3D is officially announced) on a moving train.

I figured Mario is higher than Star Fox since there are more characters to choose for the coveted fifth Mario slot... Dr. Mario, Toad, Paper Mario, Waluigi, Bowser Jr., and Geno.... whereas Star Fox is just Falco, Wolf, and Krystal trying to get their paws on the second and third Star Fox slots.

I'd mostly expect Bowser Jr or Geno to be the LAST Mario-series character to be introduced in the Smash series.

He's an unneeded character that just happens to exist in the Mario universe. If he were to be included, I'd shrug and move on. I'd much prefer Boswer Jr. or Geno.

I know, but Waluigi seems too silly to be in smash. The only reason I'd pick Geno over Waluigi is because Geno seems like he can actually deal damage. This also applies to Boswer Jr., to whom I've known since Mario Sunshine. Jr. could use his paint brush to transform into dark-mario, and could be a faster clo- Oooooo... now I get what you meant.
