The only reason I'd like Waluigi is because Mario and Luigi vs Wario and Waluigi, he could work as a Wario rep, Sakurai likes doing stuff like that.

I dislike Bowser Jr. and I've no idea why people want a smaller Bowser clone that can transform into Sheik a Mario clone. He's annoying as **** all too.

I wouldn't care either way if Toad got in, I'd only like it because of the novelty of having the four playables from SMB2 (and SM3DW too now I guess).

Never really played SMRPG so I have no opinion of Geno, he seems cool, but he's under lock and key at Squeenix.

Krystal riding pumpkin is **** tier compared to Tricky riding Panther (with Majora's Mask) with Navi.
Don't even try to compare Krystal riding pumpkin to WaterWraith (with Giygas visible in the center of it's body) with a Zero Two eye and wings riding four Eponas one per limb (wearing the Master Crown) with Lakitu.

I know, but Waluigi seems too silly to be in smash. The only reason I'd pick Geno over Waluigi is because Geno seems like he can actually deal damage. This also applies to Boswer Jr., to whom I've known since Mario Sunshine. Jr. could use his paint brush to transform into dark-mario, and could be a faster clo- Oooooo... now I get what you meant.
Too silly? Wii Fit Trainer begs to differ. To me, in order, priority for the Mario series goes like this:

1. Paper Mario
2. Bowser Jr.
3. Toad
4. Waluigi
*10 Layers of Garbage*
5. Geno

If we get a Mario character, it'll be one of those three at the top. Waluigi is also viable, just to a much lesser extent. IMO, Geno has no shot.

EDIT: And a sidenote, Jr. Doesn't use the paintbrush to turn into Shadow Mario. He uses that blue bandana from sunshine that he wore. Jr. Can easily use the paintbrush as his own character.

The benefits of having Waluigi is... for the sole novelty of Mario & Luigi vs. Wario & Waluigi... is that right?

Well, the benefits of having Toad...
- Mario vs. Luigi vs. Peach vs. Toad (Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario 3D World)
- Mario & Luigi vs. Blue Toad & Yellow Toad (New Super Mario Bros. Wii)
- Mario & Luigi & Toad vs. Bowser (New Super Mario Bros. Wii)
- Mario vs. Luigi & Yoshi & Toad (hero vs. sidekicks)
- Toad vs. Wario (Wario's Woods)
- Peach vs. Toad (revenge for using Toad as a meat shield)
- Sonic vs. Captain Falcon vs. Toad (speed demons)
and so on.

People who like Waluigi.
(waits for someone to come along and say the only people who like Waluigi are trolls)

Anywho, I support Waluigi myself, and I hope he appears in a WarioWare game one day.

Also-

Who the hell cares about Waluigi other than trolls?
Most people who want Reggie in Smash 4 are trolls. (or they're just trolling, they aren't necessarily trolls)

I have never seen a troll supporter of Waluigi.

Oh right, I forgot about Paper Mario. Yeah, Paper Mario might get into the next Smash. However, Sakurai stated that he wanted to discontinue clones, so they'd have to incorporate a new move-set for this Mario.

More people need to read my Smash 4 Mario series analysis.
Pretty much it goes:
Toad>=Paper Mario>Bowser Jr.>>>Dr. Mario>Waluigi>Geno>>>No one else has a plausible shot.

I find Paper Mario the most likely, IMO. Even though I personally want Jr. the most. However, if you think Paper Mario could be a clone, then you must have never played a Paper Mario game. He has a HUGE moveset potential.

Oh yeah, DoctorMario, right! I find him before Waluigi but not before the other three. But I think we can all agree that if we do get a newcomer, it will be one of those three at the top.

I don't see how Bowser Jr. would be a Bowser clone.

There are plenty of things he could to make him differ from Bowser, and I doubt Sakurai would add him without giving him an original moveset.

I doubt Shadow Mario would be included, but I agree on that otherwise.

No way Paper Mario is going to end up a clone if he gets in with all the unique abilities he has. If any Mario newcomer ends up a clone or luigified clone its going to be Bowser Jr.

Still pretty surprised that we are pretty much going to have all of the Mario veterans confirmed for Smash 4 a year before the game's release.

He's also a decent character and can add a second character under the Wario "franchise". Not sure why you're trying to shove Toad propaganda on me when I've already said I'd like to see him in that exact quote and also have him in my sig. Eh...

And right, forgot Paper Mario! I'm also against him, Game & Watch already has the "flat" gimmick, plus I've never been a fan of the same character in different incarnations, like Dr. Mario and a second Link. Just have Toad as the only new Mario rep and Waluigi as a Wario rep and I'd be set. Birdo for Yoshi too. :troll:

There are plenty of thinks toon link can do that TP link couldn't and that didn't stop him from having all his specials, final smash and some of his attacks

Dr. Mario is more likely than Waluigi and Geno due to actually having been a playable character already in Smash Bros., and him having been planned for Brawl (Sakurai has a tendency to revisit unfinished ideas). However, he is definitely not getting in before the likes of Toad, Paper Mario, or Bowser Jr.

. Just have Toad as the only new Mario rep and Waluigi as a Wario rep and I'd be set.
Waluigi has yet to appear in a Wario game, and Waluigi is considered by Sakurai to be a Mario series character.

Eh, I hate when people say that. I know Sakurai has the final call on who is with which franchise, but Waluigi is not even part of the Wario franchise! Neither is Birdo with Yoshi! They are both Mario characters who were paired up with Yoshi and Wario in MARIO spinoffs.

Yoshi and Wario are both Mario characters and yet they got their own series icons, and as you should know, Sakurai likes doing whatever the **** he wants.

Despite the fact that Waluigi has never appeared in a Wario game, he was made specifically to be Wario's partner, he's pretty much what Luigi is to Mario. Do you really think it would be so much of a stretch to put him with Wario in Smash? And you thought I was serious about Birdo? Troll face much?

That's because Wario and Yoshi also have their own series.

I don't think Jr. would be a clone. Granted if Sakurai wanted to he could do it. But Jr. has a lot of potential with his paintbrush and gadgets. Its like Toon Link. Sakurai can go either way with them. A blatant clone or a unique character.

They have similar strength and both have an attack animation that resembles Quick Draw. They both also wield a two-handed sword, and have a mercenary motif with their designs. Chrom also originally had the same color scheme as Ike did, so they were definitely thinking about Ike when designing Chrom.

Chrom is basically an Ike MKII, in the same vein that Celice was a Marth MKII (or how Lucina is a Marth MKIII).
That "Quick Draw" animation is Chrom's Aether.
With that in mind, ONLY the Aether point OR the Quick Draw point can be made, not both, since he doesn't have BOTH Aether and Quick Draw; his "Quick Draw" IS his Aether.

And the reforged Falchion isn't a two-hander. Unless you're saying the little Lucina is really frigging strong to use it with one hand like how Ike can swing Ragnell.

On another note, Chrom would technically be Hector MKIII, since Ike was pretty much designed as Hector MKII.

Well, there goes Bowser Jr's chances then
Ugh...really? Seriously?

Toon Link only had a few things he could do a few different thing than Link, compared to Bowser and Bowser Jr.

Bowser focuses on physical strength, Jr relies weaponry and sometimes homing fireballs that set the ground on fire, and in NSMB, he used one physical attack.

Toon Link and Link both rely on items, and Toon Link only had a few new and different items in WW, and Phantom Hourglass didn't make much of difference to that.

Link and Toon Link both use similar items and a sword. (the Final Smash I understand though)

Bowser and Bowser Jr. share only one thing to rely on: Fire.

It's not just a Sakurai thing. He currently is only a Mario series character. There's zero reason WHY he would consider it part of the Wario franchise when he lacks the appearances. Not even one. If he did, I'd totally agree it'd make sense.

And yes, Waluigi is cool too. Although I'd probably just go with Toad and Bowser Jr.(preferrably with Shadow Mario, and neither would be actual clones). I'd just give Paper Mario his own icon instead, since he's too different from the rest, only technically looking like Mario.

.
Yes, it is. Look at the size of the blade itself and the size of the hilt to it. Also, Lucina is arguably the strongest lord in the series just going by stats.

Dr. Mario > Paper Mario, only because I fear Paper Mario would have a Sticker Star-based moveset, which would be an abomination.

Now if we're talking pre-Sticker Star Paper Mario, specifically Paper Mario from the first two Paper Mario games, then I would 100% want that in my smash bros.

On the topic of Bowser Jr, he has very few "fighting game" moves we have seen, especially when compared to Toon Link, who basically has like 5 movesets written out in the modern-day classic we know as the Wind Waker alone.

Then again, Bowser had that same problem (albeit smaller), but he got in just fine, so whatever.

Landmaster x3 and PK STARSTOOOOOORM!

Your logic is backwards, Sakurai is more likely to make characters cloney than to make them completely original, Ganondorf much?

Plus the whole "Shadow Mario" thing just makes him a mini Bowser who is also a Mario clone that happens to have Zelda's gimmick. It's a bit much honestly.

Bowser has also piloted the clown car, which is Bowser jr's signature thing these days.

Not to mention Jr undoubtedly has the same shell spinning attacks as his koopa piers

I don't see how you can say the only thing they have in common is fire, when Jr has the entire body structure his father had at his age, judging from the Yoshi games

And again, just because Jr can be different, I can easily see Sakurai saying "As a rule with father and sons, Bowser jr shares many of the attacks of his father"

I've been thinking... What could he possibly do with a Sticker Star moveset? Pulling out a sticker to do every attack would get really tiresome, and I don't think it'd be viable. If anything, I think his moveset would be sort of a mix of every game, using the hammer, various partners from throughout the years, etc.

Sakurai still wants uniqueness in his game. Jr. can show uniqueness in his paintbrush.

And if I recall, Phantoms did not even mentioned. Shadow Mario in that post. While the idea of it would be pretty cool, Jr. is much more likely on his own, as most people would agree.
