All-Star Mode needs a gigantic revamp or else it'll be even more tedious than Brawl's.

I like the idea of a fully unlocked roster. I would like it if the unlockables were things like color pallets, music, and other things that don't directly affect gameplay. I like the idea of putting the game in any console and have the meat and potatoes ready to serve.

@Roster unlocks: I like to just be playing around with the game, and suddenly being met with a new character to fight. So I'd like unlockable characters to stay, and I'm pretty sure it will.

If for the latter, and Sakurai's plan is to coincide veteran confirmations alongside new software that they are appearing in then:

I think we will at best be getting one veteran/newcomer confirmation per month for the remainder of the year. However, due to September being dry software wise I could see us getting no newcomer/veteran confirmation, though Wind Waker HD does come out during the last week of September in Japan.

I don't feel that September being a dry month will really affect whomever Sakurai or Nintendo decides to reveal. Whatever they have going on is probably not so iron clad that Sakurai absolutely has to reveal a character that corresponds with some title for that month. Sakurai could always reveal someone ahead of time -- like a Pokémon -- or just reveal whomever he wants. Ness would probably be nice considering Earthbound has been released in every territory on the Wii U VC now.

Also, my personal belief is the Zelda titles probably won't correspond with anyone. Just call it a hunch.

I agree. My (mostly random) guesses for the remaining four are Diddy, a Pokemon character, Peach, and a newcomer. Though now I'm less sure on Peach... but I don't have any better ideas.
I'm guessing we won't see Yoshi until Nintendo starts heavily promoting whichever one of his two games releases first.

Just finished watching the Direct. Gotta say most of us saw a Luigi reveal coming this year.
Hope Luigi has some new Mansion moves. It looks like he has some Mario & Luigi and Luigi's Mansion influences in his taunts and expressions

Well, we're only seven days into the month and have already seen a new veteran and a new stage. I don't doubt Sakurai's stalling powers in the least but hopefully this makes it more likely that we'll see something else by the time the month is up.

That game is a ways off. We haven't even seen anything from the game let alone know when it is going to release. Probably won't see that title until the second half of 2014.

I suspect most people would've said it'd be "pretty safe to say" he would've been shown with the other Starting 7 had they known they were going to have been shown in the initial trailer. Sakurai/Nintendo are being a lot more unpredictable this time around, if they want to promote characters that actually have games coming this holiday season, I totally wouldn't be surprised if Yoshi wasn't revealed until January. Especially if we're only going to get one character per month. Sure, he could show up if there isn't a corresponding promotion at the moment, but I'm not going to hold my breath for that.

IIRC Nintendo said they didn't feel comfortable showing more of the Yarn Yoshi game in its current state, but it's definitely still in development.

The game is still a work in progress. They'll likely go back and touch up on the models. I know they did during the Tag 2 loc tests. I remember hearing Anna's face was worked on inbetween tests as an example.

The more I think about it, if any Zelda characters will be revealed to tie in with the games, it'll be Ganondorf and Zelda.
