Unless they release the list of stages and put some kind of Punch Out icon on it, I'm not going to believe it's Punch Out.

The ropes aren't some kind of hint, because STANDARD boxing rings use the same color

And I still believe if it was a Punch Out stage they would have put WVBA logo in it

I would like to have Mario's cape become a recovery option for him, it would operate just like in SMW. That would be baller as hell, it would give Mario something out of the shoto-ryu style Karate thing he's got going.
In addition, his side-b would have a different animation, he would just spin around and slice the air with the cape quickly, still retaining it's reflective properties, losing little momentum, but how to balance it?

Yeah, all those Smash Logos are what made me think it was a new kind of generic stage.
But that text about Punch Out!! does present some really nice points.
Well, let's just wait and see. I think we'll only know if Little Mac gets confirmed.

I'd say with the colour of the ropes, the lasers (which were in Punch-Out), the placement of the Smash logo, the human crowd, and the fact that that stage didn't have music playing on it in the trailer (IIRC), chances seem pretty good it's a Punch-Out stage. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch if Sakurai wanted to make a "Smash-circuit", realized it had no specific trace of Punch-Out, and then used it purposely in the trailer. Seems like the kinda thing he'd do.

Well if it was Dedede's ring, tbh it would probably be a bit more cartoony and closer to how the ring looked in the Kirby games (there are a lot of differences), but most of all if it was from Kirby... there probably wouldn't be actual people cheering in the stands... there'd be Kirby characters.

My point was that the argument about what game it's from is silly.

It's a rumor based off the music data, as a lot of the Music on the MK stage doesn't fit the mood/theme.

I really should get around to picking up a 3DS soon... Got any more neat concept art, I've always liked looking at imaginative settings (like Skytown Elysia - which btw HAS TO BE the Metroid Stage for this next Smash, or else).

I don't know; The argument is silly either way. If everyone's so sure it's a Punch-out stage then there really shouldn't be much room for arguing.
And don't get me wrong, I'm one of the people who supported the fact that it's a Punch-out stage. It's just that everyone is so adamant about it without leaving room for error that It'll be hilarious watching everyone stagger because they turn out to be wrong.

Whereas I couldn't care either way because boxing rings don't matter to me.

I'm glad I waited too as now I have a wider selection of games and options to choose from, plus I got other responsibilities to pay for, most of which take priority over vidya, such as rent, bills, Uni, a new TV, a new comp (which is a piece of **** btw), to name a few.
