Assist #1:
Companion Card: Mr. Glitch(There is No Game)

Though he plans to do...something to the world, He decides to become an assist for the fun of it. When summoned, Mr. Glitch will fly around and latch on the opponent, draining them similar to Metroid. However, there's also an added side effect(Getting bigger/smaller or reversing your controls) as your character glitches out
Assist #2: Carrion

So Carrion is this fleshy creature from the game with the same name. Carrion will roam across the battlefield and try to yeet everyone off the screen including yourself. Because no one is safe from Carrion

Terrarian Moveset
  • Neutral Special: Build
    • Terrarian places down a block right in front of themselves (or below them if in mid-air). These blocks act like Steve's blocks, but with a few twists; They're more durable than Steve's blocks, but are also smaller. In addition, only eight of them can be in play per Terrarian player.
    • In addition, each of the Terrarian's alts has a different block to place (which can be covered in their costume job).
  • Forward Special: Magic Wand
    • This move has three tiers of charge - The longer you hold the special button down, the stronger the attack becomes.
    • Tier 1 is the Wand of Sparking, which shoots a weak, low-range projectile forwards.
    • Tier 2 is the Vile Thorn, which sends out a vine projectile which covers more ground and deals more damage.
    • Tier 3 is the Last Prism, which creates a powerful beam of light which deals the most damage/knockback of the three.
  • Back Special: Grappling Hook
    • The Terrarian casts out a grappling hook straight forwards (or angled if you prefer). This hook can grab onto ledges and opponents (if it does the latter, Terrarian will ram into them to deal damage and knockback).
  • Up Special: Wings
    • The Terrarian equips wings as it flies to the sky, essentially being a third, floatier jump.
  • Down Special: Dynamite
    • The Terrarian chucks a stick of dynamite forwards. The dynamite will explode after a few seconds, and while it can hurt opponents, it will also hurt the Terrarian, so be careful!
  • Guard: Cobalt Shield
    • The Terrarian holds out the shield, being completely immune from the front but suspectible to attacks from behind.
I'll let someone else take care of Dusk.

I'm not familiar with Terraria or Dust: An Elysian Tail, so I'll leave those movesets to someone who is.

Companion Card nominations:

The Hillbilly (Dead By Daylight)

One of the starting killers for Dead By Daylight. Much like his source material, the Hillbilly is rather straightforward - upon being summoned, he revs his chainsaw loudly before sprinting forward with it, slashing it into whoever he makes contact with. (or coming to a stop if he hits a wall, or careening off the stage if he doesn't hit anything)

Squid Baron (Shantae)

A recurring boss in the Shantae series. When he's summoned, he'll jump back and forth across the stage, creating shockwaves when he lands similar to Dedede's leaping attack in the Kirby games.

Now presenting, from a guy whose only knowledge of Dust: An Elysian Tail is that Stampylonghead's Minecraft skin comes from it...

Dust Moveset
Dust will have Fidget accompanying him.
  • Neutral Special: Magic Blast
    • Fidget fires four magical projectiles in an arc; They aren't too strong, but they're reliable in a pinch.
  • Forward Special: Dust Storm
    • Dusk begins spinning his sword rapidly, creating a small vortex which can draw in items, projectiles, and enemies. Opponents who get too close to the blade will be rapidly damaged before being launched away, ending the move early.
  • Back Special: Ash Bound
    • Dusk reaches out to grab an opponent. If he succeeds, he will suplex them, launching them backwards.
  • Up Special: Dust Vortex
    • Dusk spins as he ascends into the air, being able to aim his trajectory and hit opponents in his path multiple times. He then enters free-fall.
  • Down Special: Fire Pillars
    • Fidget charges up before creating two large pillars of fire around Dusk. While it is a lengthy move to come out, it is powerful.
  • Guard Special: Parry
    • Dusk uses a counterattack - If it connects, Dust swings his sword for a powerful counter.

  • My movesets for Terrarian and Dust win by default.
  • Please vote for Companion Cards here. The top four will make it in!
Resubmitting 2 companion cards from Newgrounds.
I lack the confidence to tackle a Terrarian/Dust moveset, but as for Companion Cards...

Assist 1: Resubmission of Burrito Bison

Assist 2: Eye of Cthulhu (Terraria)

Any seasoned Terraria player needs no introduction to these eldritch creatures, but for the unaware, the Eye of Cthulhu is a pre-Hardmode boss who is usually found rather early in the game. Although it's a rather simple enemy, especially compared to some of Terraria's later bosses, it's sure to give new players a fright.

As a Companion Card, the Eye would float around the stage (being able to pass through platforms) and attempt to ram into opponents. After reaching about half its HP, it grows a toothy mouth and becomes much more aggressive. Either way, it will vanish after sticking around for a while or being KO'd.
Assist #1:

Assist #2: Carrion

So Carrion is this fleshy creature from the game with the same name. Carrion will roam across the battlefield and try to yeet everyone off the screen including yourself. Because no one is safe from Carrion

Job 160: Submit animations for Springtrap and/or the Goose!
Please submit a stage entrance, three taunts, and/or three victory animations for either/both characters.

Job 161: Suggest bosses for characters' Classic Mode routes!
Please suggest a boss for any character in our roster! The roster can be found on the first page of the thread/Google Doc, while the bosses are as follows:
  • The Devil (Cuphead)
  • Big the Jonathan (100% Orange Juice)
  • Marie (Skullgirls)
  • Grimm / Nightmare King Grimm (Hollow Knight)
  • Risky Boots (Shantae)
  • DJ Music Man (Five Nights at Freddy's)
  • Hades (Hades)
  • Photoshop Flowey (UNDERTALE)
Job 162: Submit music for Boiler City!
Please submit six music tracks from Antonball and/or Antonblast to appear on its stage!

Also, as a reminder since I don't think I've brought it up in a while, you are allowed to submit music which doesn't follow the guidelines I specifically mention as long as you can make a good case as to why they should be included, so don't be afraid to get a little outside the box!

Submissions close tomorrow afternoon!

Obviously Goose should have Big the Jonathan as his boss. Bird-on-bird violence. And I feel like Photoshop Flowey fits with Terrarian because of how they fight eldritch abominations in their home game.

Springtrap Animations
  • Entrance
    • Static appears on stage, with it fading away to reveal Springtrap.
  • Taunts
    • Springtrap stares at the camera menacingly.
    • Springtrap begins writhing as distorted static is heard.
    • Balloon Boy can be heard saying either "Hi!", "Hello!", or just laughing. Regardless, Springtrap looks around for the source of the sound, taking an almost primal stance.
  • Victory Animations
    • Springtrap just walks up to the camera as the "victory area" is engulfed in flames, giving it an ominous stare.
    • A partially dismantled Freddy falls to the ground, with the camera panning back to reveal Springtrap standing over his victim.
    • Springtrap starts with his back turned to the camera before turning around. Soon afterwards, the screen is covered in static, and when it fades away, Springtrap is gone.
Boss Fights
  • Orcane: Marie
    • Both characters hail from fighting games.
  • Frisk: Photoshop Flowey
    • Pretty self-explanatory.
  • Cuphead: The Devil
    • Also pretty self-explanatory.
  • Shante: Risky Boots
    • You get the picture.
  • Peacock: Marie
    • oh come on
  • Madeline: Photoshop Flowey
    • A bit of a stretch, all things considered, but something about a mountain climber fighting a being from within a mountain makes sense.
  • Meat Boy: The Devil
    • Both characters hail from notoriously tough platformer games.
  • Zagreus: Hades
    • ...
  • Red: Big the Jonathan
    • Borbs
  • Isaac: The Devil
    • Given all of TBoI's religious themes, the Devil is a natural choice.
  • Springtrap: DJ Music Man
    • ...
  • The Knight: Grimm
    • ...
  • Annalynn: DJ Music Man
    • I mean, he kinda resembles a snake if you squint hard enough...
I was gonna take a stab at Boiler City music, but I actually really like Wario3's selection - The only thing I woulda done is add Cold Spaghetti from Pizza Tower (I think there's enough ties, given Peppino's appearance in Antonball Deluxe and the Anton/Pizza Tower devs being good buddies from the looks of things), but even then I wouldn't know what song to cut to make room for it.

Goose animations:

Intro: a bush is on the stage, and the Goose sticks its head out of it, honks, and walks onto the stage

Taunts:
-the Goose pulls out a harmonica and plays a tune
-the Goose spreads its wings
-the Goose pulls out a random item from Untitled Goose Game and shakes its head tauntingly, honking as it does so, before putting it away. If it’s something like the glass bottle, it changes the sound of the Goose’s honks during the taunt.

Victory animations:
-the Goose waddles on screen with a sandwich in its mouth, before the gardener runs in, causing it to drop the sandwich and run around the gardener to try getting it back
-the Goose spreads its wings as flowers are dropped near it and applause can be heard
-the Goose has its head right in front of the camera, honking, before its chased off by the TV shop owner

Bosses:

Quote: DJ Music Man (Quote seems suited to a boss that forces you to use ranged attacks)

Shovel Knight: Grimm (no real reason; I just figure that the two would mesh well, and Grimm already fights a Knight in canon)

Octane: Risky Boots (vehicle on vehicle violence!)

Hat Kid: The Devil (it seems weirdly in-character for Hat Kid to find the Devil, beat him up, and make him cry)

Lilac: Risky Boots (was going to go with DJ Music Man for the whole "gotta go fast!" idea, but it seems like Lilac would be a melee fighter, and therefore not suited to that fight - however, Lilac does seem like she could fit in the world of Shantae)

Cadence: Hades (Cadence's main enemy is someone who raises the dead, and Hades can summon skeletons - plus, I don't want to run the risk of Hades only being a boss fight for Zagreus)

When I read this I thought that Springtrap could fight Hades because of how much he comes back from the dead. But unfortunately DJ Music Man exists.

Admittedly, I was thinking about having him fight the Devil for my submission, but I didn’t want DJ Music Man to go underused.
I've checked and both the Devil and DJ Music Man have 5 fighters to fight them. So you don't have to worry about them

Perhaps we could swap a few of The Devils with Hades to make him more used. But it isn't really that big of a priority.

I’ll probably edit a few of my submissions once I get on PC.
I don't think you'd need to - out of the Devil fights you suggested, Cuphead's just makes sense, and the Devil is a better fit for the Binding Of Isaac's setting than Hades is. As for Meat Boy, the reasoning makes sense. I just didn't want Hades to only be fought once, and now he's got more than one fight, at least.

So that leaves Hat Kid and Anton then

Either fits with Hat Kid but Anton should stay fighting the Devil

Discussion: What do you think of these DLC plans?
With work on the Knight and Octane being planned to begin tomorrow, we only have them, Annalynn, and Lilac left to cover, meaning that we are nearing the end of our fighters. As such, I would like to propose my vision for DLC for critique and/or ideas. Please take a look.
  • We will have six DLC slots; Potentially more if there's enough demand.
  • There will be no preresiquites when it comes to submitting characters - You can submit whoever you please in any given round.
    • However, there is a catch, if a fighter fails to get a DLC slot twice, they will be "blacklisted", meaning that they cannot be submitted for future slots. This is to encourage more unique ideas as opposed to someone just submitting the same character six times over.
  • In addition to a fighter, you will also be submitting a stage from their game/series. These will be voted on in-batch, meaning that fighters are essentially "tied" to the stage they were submitted with.
    • However, stages are not affected by blacklisting.
  • Finally, alongside the usual content for the fighter/stage (moveset, music, cards, etc.), there will also be a third aspect to each DLC pack, voted on by contributors. However, submitted content must fall into one of five themes determined by whichever fighter got in. Options include:
    • A second stage.
    • Two new Companion Cards.
    • A new boss (limit two across all DLC).
    • A new mode (limit one across all DLC).
    • (I must give credit to Wario Wario Wario's Smash Bonus DLC thread for this idea.)
So yeah, that's my pitch. Any criticism and ideas are welcome!

As for the costumes and cards, submissions will close tomorrow afternoon as per the norm!

The blacklist sounds interesing but I also think that it would be like a drawback since that would mean that most of the time people would try to submit either someone who can crush the competence or a character they don't care that much to die. I think maybe something like, even if they don't win if they had a certain quantity of votations they can be "saved" and resubmitted in the next round BUT it can't be submitted by the same person has before, would still give variety but also give some hope to certain characters.

For the rest I think it's great.

Yeah that's why I think there it would be some sort of "save the spot" thing, the other option is instead of give a second opportunity to the second place give a second quick poll for see who would have another opportunity next time, personally I would like to see the Gungeoneers, the Messenger, the Beheaded, the Penitent One or Miriam.

I think that perhaps we could tweak this a bit. I'd personally remove the requirement to get a certain number of votes and just make it so the original submitter can't submit them again and it has to be someone else.

I've been reading the messages - A lot of good ideas from everyone! I think I like Baysha's the best, but do you think we should have a job to vote on propositions or should I just go with my personal favorite?

Personal favorites could bring more ideas imo, not all people has knowlowdedge on certain genres/concepts and in general there are a lot of indies who could be left behind just because they didn't fit in any of the prompts.

Not what I meant - I meant in terms of me picking my favorite of the DLC guidelines and not actual characters. As I mentioned before, there will be no "prompts" - All DLC rounds will be free picks.

Ah, sorry for misunderstanding, yeah I think Baysha idea is the more free one, I added the limitantion of votes for do the things "interesing" has you said before but if you are fine with just not allow resubmissions then it's fine.

3. Chaos

Not sure if I should post links to Wiki articles or not; I usually try to, but I don't want to risk spoiling people in this case. (my only problem here was limiting myself to three characters)

Same, but now that I think about it, what about Persephone, isn't like we don't know about her early in the game (apart that everyone who knows something about greek myths knows about her) but I still wonder if she would count has a spoiler.

  • My Terrarian alts win by default.
  • Qwerty UIOP Qwerty UIOP 's Dust alts win by default.
  • All cards will be accepted!
  • I am making a small revision to how DLC will be handled. Rather than flatout banning characters after a certain number of submissions, you can only submit any given character once yourself - future submissions of the same character must come from another user (tl;dr: no resubmissions). Everything else will remain the same, though.
----
Job 165: Submit movesets for the Knight and/or Octane!

As promised, work on our peniultimate batch of base game fighters begins today! Please submit all five specials (Neutral/Forward/Back/Up/Down) and a guard for either or both characters.

Job 166: Submit music for Cobalt Plateaus!
With our peniultimate batch of fighters comes our peniultimate stage! Please submit six music tracks from the Angry Birds series (spinoffs included) for the Cobalt Plateaus. You may wish to bring Main Theme (Balkan Blast) - Angry Birds and/or Main Theme - Bad Piggies over from Flappy Pipeyard - If you do this, you don't need to suggest replacements for those tracks on Flappy Pipeyard, but if you choose to do so, they will be welcomed!

Job 167: Vote on unlockable characters!
Please pick out any character you feel should be an unlockable fighter here - the top eight will be deemed as such, and there will be an unlock criteria job for them tomorrow!

Submissions also close tomorrow afternoon.
