I used to have the name "Pikaville" if that rings a bell.

But a big "hello" to you too!
Wait, I feel like I've seen this name before.

Did you go to Pound 3? I feel like you were in my round 3 pool for Melee.

I remember being really surprised at a sheik and I switched to fox.

/this is what happens when you're bored I guess.

That's another question I have - how do I effectively use Dair? Which characters is it good agaisnt, and in which situations is it useful?

dair's good for platform tech chasing, it beats get-up attack (if you dair just after they start the attack), it's good for punishing their recovery when edgehogging (set-ups into a reverse fair edgeguard or a combo), and it's perfect for comboing in situations where you pop them up above you (which can be linked to a usmash KO in certain situations).

it's also pretty lulz to use it to beat out poor approaches.

Dair to fair is pretty typical. Dair to uair can kill off the top on some occasions, particularly on stages with low ceilings. Uair can kill Marths at ~130% on FD iirc. At particularly high percent (like- above 120% on characters of average falling speed) Uair can send your opponent too high to follow up so in cases like that, it's best to try to kill with a slap or sweet-spot bair. You could go for a grab, too. Incidentally, DI-ing the dair at high-percent can make it easier for you to follow up. :)

Dair is super-**** on fast fallers. On floaties, you're generally better off trying to combo them laterally, imo.

Most definitely wasn't me.

A Swedish smasher here in Ireland eh?

I must find him.

Plus you can mindgames with it too. You can cancel the needle charge into bair or whatever.

I learned to never bair a standing Peach ever yesterday.

I got dsmashed out of it sooooo many times. :(

Bairs are actually pretty effective at higher percent if you sweetspot it. The spacing is the hard part but it's a pretty effective way to zone in that matchup imo. If Peach is just camping, though, there's no reason not to needle-troll.

it's a no impact land. I've been doing some cool stuff with it.

also this one time I ended a match by trying to space a bair but i landed on the platform and usmashed and they full jumped into it at the exact second.

so I ****ed up twice, accidentally landing, and hitting the cstick the wrong way

Ok so the meleesance in Ireland has been continuing.

Yesterday I took down my 2 friends Peach's very comfortably.

Spacing those bairs just like you guys said :)

I also found dair to really hurt Peach off the tech chase, seems to **** Falco too.

I got a good few dairs>jab>grab>fairs yesterday.

Feels good to have my Sheik moving nice and fluidly again.

I still have to get my platform dashing and wavelanding back to perfect though.

I can get around battlefield no problem at all.

I was practicing last night a lot trying to get my movements around levels perfectly fluid again.

Totally gonna record some sets and put them up for you guys to see.

I think the only reason I beat my friends all the time is because my mobility around platform levels is a tier or 2 above theirs.

I rarely miss platform dashes and waveland on platforms.

I am going to get good at comboing nair>d tilt today>nair>whatever today.

I was looking up some multiple dair shenanigans too hahaha.
