can someone give me just a bare bones idea of how i should go about using her

You get the idea. Also, something about needles. Then, your bare bones have been created.

Work on things like tech chasing and basic combos like down throw -> fair, F tilt and Up tilt to things, etc.

Then work on edge guarding and whatnot.

Most important stuff is like

Movement - need it to space and evade and stuff... gotta be able to do it when you're being shield pressured, when Fox and friends are trying to mess...

Spacing / Positioning - Where you are in relation to the opponent is like super duper crucial and basically wins games but in order to be able to hold position or a certain range you need good movement and you need to know what to do at what ranges but that's all really character specific stuff

Onstage Punishment - Most Sheiks make HORRENDOUSLY AWFUL TERRIBLE ATROCIOUSLY BAD combo decisions and really just stick to the tilt, dash attack, and Fair formula, which is dumb. Tech chase is also super duper important, you really gotta be able to do some stuff off knockdowns or you'll get nowhere vs space animals

Edgeguarding - Learn your basics. At the very least learn how to jump off and bair, ledgehop bair and nair, and how to throw needles at recovering people. And the lightshield edgehog vs Marth's low recovery. And learn how to edgehog --> stand --> attack vs other Sheiks so they don't hit you with the poof but you still hog them if they go for the edge

That will cover you for most important matchups

KK vs Vanz showed me how awesome dthrow -> shorthop uair is at high %s for KOs against Peach, at some better percents than dthrow -> fair.

I just practiced it on my friend's Peach for about 4 or 5 hours on and off, it works like cash.

The utility of some moves has certainly changed in my head in a couple days. Uair feels like almost as effective of a KO move as fair. Not as a gimping move, of course, but damn, Uair feels super useful now.


Sheik seems so flexibleeee.
