It's XBL, there isn't much you can expect from its community :p Get on SRK/AiF and play people that are actually good at the game~

get an X arcade man! there like 50 bucks off Amazon.com!!!

and about street fighter I like 3rd strike better... I thinks it's the awesome parry system they put in that gets me!

I'd rather play Marvel vs. Capcom though (can't wait for the online version for ps3)

I think its the intermediate people that say that.

I say that quite a bit. Because I can tell when a player is not good (or better than me at least  )but they are winning because of random luck/they have a good character.

Idk, it just, happens.

I find it hilarious when people say Zangief is easy...
It's players who spam Lariat 24/7 and own people who don't know how to contend against it that mostly revokes this notion. One of my buddies who's a manager at Gamestop and my old boss always brags that Zangief is so easy and is the most powerful character in the game of SF:IV, believing somehow that Sagat was "nerfed" in the home console versions, lol.

Yes, sad but true story man, anyhow, I guarantee the above with Lariat is one of the biggest if not the biggest reasons why Gief is considered "easy mode". However at more competent levels, he has a very difficult time. His match ups clearly shows that up against the top-8 characters in SF:IV, Gief has difficulty against a good portion of them.

Anyhow, I'm really, really glad that he can contend because he hasn't been this good since the Hyper Fighting days and that was 15+ years ago.

Geif is bad.

That is to say he loses to quite few of the characters that actually matter so he really can't make a dent in the metagame/tournament scene due to this fact.

He demolishes anything below high tier though.

Someone doesn't remember Alpha 3.
Or Alpha 2.

I was speaking only of SFII, III and IV, however yes, if you include the Alphas, then he was good in A2 and a monster in A3. My take on Gief in SF:IV is that he's not as good as he's ranked, which is like #4 or #3. Simply because as I stated earlier, he has difficulty with many of the strongest characters in the game, the only one he doesn't have a slight disadvantage on is Ryu which is a 5-5. The reason I see him up so high is that his overall points vs all characters are high, because against the lower-tier characters, he simply has a strong advantage point.

If you just took the Top-10 strongest characters in the game and had a match up chart with only those characters, Zangief would be like #6 at best. However, regardless, he's still competitive and can still win tournies, he's still doing solid in Japan, and here in the US, talk to UltraDavid and check out his Gief :chuckle:.

Anyhow, I'll be going to Japan this mid June or early July, depends at the availability of the cousin since he's coming along with me, so when I'm there, I'll definitely going to be playing some SF:IV over there, because why wouldn't you be.

Things have changed dramatically since I was there last year in this game, so I'll be truly looking forward to it.

Geez, I still need to go buy the PS3 version.
Hopefully I'll have some cash left over after paying everything else off with my next paycheck.

I haven't played SF IV in so long, the SF IV scene in my state is so good now. I feel like I've really fallen behind.
I need to find another character besides Viper still.

X Arcade sticks are trash, do not buy them. I sold mine a while back.
they're fine man, maybe you're confused with some other thing.

and sure Zangeif is good, but Dahlism (or however you spell it...) owns that mofo

.....huh?

there is nothing to be confused about, there is only one x-arcade company.......they make those sticks saying they are "built like a tank"....yea, sure, they are durable and whatnot, but they are not good to play on.

i dont know whats good or bad for viper but u seem to really like to throw out that elbow overhead...bad habit?
i have a certain approach when it comes to fighting games, if I see something is working or it is going unpunished, I will abuse it until further notice, lol.

Went to a tournament for an opening game center this past Saturday. Managed to win it and got a XBox 360 arcade for my troubles.

I can finally say SFIV has been good to me.

There's nothing really wrong with Boxer. I hardly see any being played (though I don't play online anymore) and he's not amazingly over powered. Plus he got kara armor strats. Those are always fun.
