I think that we could find similarities between any of the FE characters. I don't think it will prove anything. I think its biggest flops are its timing and location.

To be fair, where's the fun in that? What's the point of a leak thread if we're just going to brush aside a "leak" just because of the date its posted on and his interior room? While those are definitely red-flags for any leak, joke or not you have to be thorough in your debunking (especially with picture leaks) and actually look at the meat of the picture, which in this case is the Chrom model and the landscape behind him.

The inverse is also true. I abhor every other (picture) leak even being considered legit, but I digress, people like to be hopeful.

Additionally there's no way all of these coincidences lined up just right. If this was a true leak, why would they wait until this specific date to post it in rather questionable conditions (flipping the bird seems like it was intended to just troll people)? The guy is just likely playing off of people's gullibility and need to dissect absolutely everything to a T. A unique looking model/setting is hardly the most concrete evidence, and I'd sooner believe whatever garbage we'll get tomorrow/later today than believe some random 4chan user had all of this conveniently available yet said nothing further nor did anything about it until this particular day.

On that note I'm going to ask that all the FE/preference stuff stay out of this matter. Personally I don't like or dislike Chrom, but I'd still have the same stance on this, even if was a character I love, such as Ridley or Mewtwo, were they leaked with all of these factors.

I'm all for chrom, but I still won't believe anything weve seen completely, especially today or tomorrow.

But really I don't know about you guys, but I'd gladly take an image like this that we can have fun talking about or trying to debunk rather than some stupid made up fan leak list like all the other crap we've had to sift through. A visual leak or fake is always better in my book

Fake or not, good word of the " middle-finger leaker".
If it proved to be fake, than we will know the incredible power Photoshop+crazy fan has and should be more aware from Palutena's Leak.
And if it's proved to be true, we will know someone has already Smash demo/Smash info in his house.... Another nice information.

Anyway I'm loving it. (Maybe not so much cause it's Chrom and I don't want him in, but o.k).

You're not wrong, the conditions in which this leak were posted is many why people in the beginning were so skeptical, and rightfully so. As I stated before, there were indeed some red-flags in this leak, including the convenient timing and such. But to prove without a reasonable doubt whether picture leak is fake or not that type of circumstantial reasoning never gets us very far, and ultimately tells you jack about the leak at hand to the point where it's useless to even bring up. Inconsistencies found within the picture (like the background clouds in this case) will tell us much more about the validity and likelihood of a leak then Other M/Irate Gamer pictures and flipping the bird ever will, which ultimately doesn't tell us jack ****. "Evidence" based on those alone are nothing more then baseless presumptions that won't lead us anywhere and are hardly useful in even remotely convincing anybody, on both sides of the argument.

Seriously, if that all it takes for someone to claim that a leak is fake, then how are you any better then the gullible fools who believe every single text and picture leak that crops up in this thread with no evidence to back them up? For me to believe/disbelieve a leak, there needs to be something concrete for me to even consider it a small possibility or to throw it away completely. Posters and hand gestures aren't going to do a damn thing, and neither side of the argument should ever try to use it as anything even remotely convincing when there are far better, convincing methods available.

Seems fake to me, he does look too similar to that Marth picture.

Even if they're meant to look similar, in those two pictures their noses and mouths look identical. (Just smoothed and less focused in Chrom's case)

I don't expect him to end up being Marth's twin.....there's surely going to be facial differences.

I hate it - it's not phone compatible, my primary method of using this forum. Everything is large and scroll-y!

Gotta say, Chrom falls on the side of fake for me - too many similarities to the Marth Picture on too coincidental a day. Good fake, but fake nonetheless, and the photography book is all but the creator's confirmation.

The difference is that the faces are damn near exactly the same, not to mention it's been released on April Fools Day along with a picture of the bloke giving the finger right next to his photography book. The book's the huge tip-off. This is just one of the better shop jobs. It's a great fake, but it lines up far too nicely with Marth's model to be real.

To be fair Chrom is Marth's descendant, and even if he's in he will basically look like a Marth with a heavier chin and less feminine eyes like he does here. Do agree with the rest though.

I honestly find it bizarre that most of what people are using to "disprove" this has little to nothing to do with the leak and has to do with circumstances. The way I see it is this: If someone had a legitimate leak, what do they care if people believe it? Has anyone who posted a LEGITIMATE leak gone out of their way to go, "Oh let me carefully schedule this around suspicious days and if you need MORE convincing I'll go get tons of pics for you it'll be great"? No. Because that's not a good idea at all.

Were this legitimate, I would imagine the trolling is present simply to stir up more controversy and possibly to leave more of an assumption that it's fake in order to avert any negative attention legally speaking. But were it fake, it is most likely faked in the exact same way the Palutena leak was fake. Someone put together an image OR a model for one or two screenshots, put it on their television / 3DS, took a picture of it, and when you run it through testing, of course the PHOTOGRAPH isn't photoshopped. But who cares about that?

I can never tell if people actually take these things seriously when they say and act like they're taking these things seriously anymore.

EDIT: And I'm just going to say, a book about photography probably isn't going to help you make a 3D model OR photoshop one. It would probably help you take a picture of one though.

Interesting image for the most part, doesn't seem quite like the Palutena leak but still pretty well done all things considered. I would be happy to see Chrom, though this image does have something off about it which does make me a more skeptical. At least it beats the general copy/paste model job we usually see.

Photography in itself now includes photoshop tutorials as part of the teaching process. It is a necessary evil in producing most forms of published photography nowadays. For this person to own a photography book is to in itself suggest he/she has learnt photography and is therefore well schooled in Photoshop. The courses are rife in every college across the UK nowadays - I imagine it's much the same stateside.

Addition: Of course, he could also be simply a big fan of natural photography. Though that doesn't quite hold up when noting the convenience of the book's placement alongside a screenshot that the creator know would be analysed for signs of fakery.

Yeah, Marth and Chrom should look similar, but the point is that both pictures were taken from exactly the same angle and height. How possible is that?

After waking up to a rumor that look 80% believable, I just noticed a key thing the guy who leaked this image forgot to do (if photoshopped) was put the floating islands in the background, and the camera angle isn't tilted to far to the right, so wouldn't islands be visable? Other than that one flaw, I hope it's real because then Crom can be used for my Machinima. =]
